Disturbing trend I've been noticing, especially with the 2X Pac Standard heists. I'll help out on 3, or more of the setups, and get snubbed for the Finale. Messaging the host asking him what gives, and they either ignore you, or reply with a F*** Off.

 

I guess the real question is why would you not want a helpful heist crew member for your finale, and reload with all new randumbs? Don't tell me they all get butthurt cause I either Gold, or Platium on all the setups.

It is because randoms that did not help with the setups are more likely to take a small cut. It is underhanded, and risky move.

No excuse not to have the house? What? How about those of us that have been playing since day one with 30 cars already? Those of us that dislike the Kuruma and don't own one. I'm not sacrificing garage space so people won't die.

There is no reason, at all, to use anything but the bikes on the finale.

 

As for sticking with the crew, they are friends, can't just leave your buds. They weren't randoms.

That would be me with 30 cars too. But for this event I bought the house anyway. You just can't host the PS finale with randoms or friends and expect them to make it on the bikes. The house/kuruma is insurance.

If you don't like the kuruma or sacrificing garage space than that explains why you suffered through 11 retries on the PS finale. Really, you should have taken the insurance.

As for sticking with crewmembers or friends, well, I have no trouble kicking them or restart the finale without them when they keep failing because they don't listen to advice.

I host so they better listen. I give them the benefit of the doubt for maybe 3 retries and the next time they fail it's over. If they don't like it they can always unfriend me. I probably don't care if they do because I don't want friends that act like trolls and waste my time.

I'm still getting over the idea that someone failed because one of the people in the boat wasn't sitting down (posted earlier in the thread.) I had one instance where I wasn't using a mic and I was literally at a hair's worth of health left and I accidentally fell out of the boat, but thankfully was able to scramble back in.

 

The "Signal" set-up seems to give people trouble or they don't freaking trust me. I sometimes zip ahead on the seashark and get to the bridge where the FIB Grangers are, race ahead sirens blaring to the point where you pick up the Valkyrie in the "Humane Labs" finale and I'm literally on shore and people see me and they keep sailing even closer to Grapeseed and when they get off, they have to escape the police who are already descending upon them. Last couple of days I've just raced ahead to Grapeseed, positioned on the hill overlooking it and took down the police choppers with rockets.

 

People freak out and message me when I go past the fort to get the seasharks on the beach closer to the island.

I was with some randoms and I was doing demo and they followed downstairs I'm like WTF ARE YOU DOING? They then proceeded to get wasted again and again doing crowd control upstairs and I don't even know how.

 

The bike setup is the easiest heist setup. Just kill the lost, steal a Lectro, drive fast, and use Keers-boost when the Lost arrive in vans and so on..

I use a Kuruma and just breeze through the Lost camp and then I drive straight ahead and turn by the park rather than just driving out and turning. Kuruma makes the alley in the "Hack" set-up easy, too.

If you choose to use a bike on the finale, you get 1 chance with me.

 

If you die and we restart, you don't get to use the bike again. You either get in a car/truck/armored van with me or I'm ending the heist and replacing you.

 

 

 

NEWSFLASH.... no matter how good you are on the bike you are still vulnerable. This game is full of BS. It only takes one instance of a cop car getting super speed and ramming you from behind... or the bike getting snagged on a rock.... and you have screwed your entire team with your death. The bikes have never been and will never be the smartest way to do this heist. The smartest way is always the way with the least chance of failure. That is all 4 players in one vehicle with doors and a roof.

That happened to me the other night this guy that kept dying got to the boat first cause the 3 of us stopped to use a car, he gets in, than as we drive near the boat he beaches it. Luckily we had the car to push it back in but even that took a good minute. Managed to escape with 16 seconds left. PS heist is so nerve racking.

That's the main difference for me, being the host or not. When I join a setup/finale I follow the host.

I still give advice though, I just don't repeat it. And on most setups there's usually something you can do that keeps them from failing over and over again. Like in Convoy where the other day they kept destroying the truck. After the 3rd time I jumped in my kuruma, drove to the truck and killed both drivers. Then I raced back followed by the merryweather vehicles and we had a chaotic fight at the bridge. But the truck was safe and we completed the setup.

And it isn't like I take the game that seriously but I don't have the time to play for hours and hours. So when I play I prefer not to waste time with endless retries.

i added all people from this forum that were listed and were vouched for or i knew were good from hearing about them and then tried to get them all involved in some chat....

and god, besides crappy cockstar servers and the sh*t you can not avoid, things are just going great.

never woud have guesed it woud run all so smooth

just a whole chat atleast half full with good players, what more do you need

I...I do not understand this. I was called a hacker when I beat 3 kurumas in a race to the convoy checkpoint with my Primo then afterwards the leader killed himself to start over without me. Is it just me or did the quality of players drop as this event continued? I managed to complete 4 full runs but these certain player encounters caused me to only reach convoy and bikes sections for several runs.

I've done 2 per day untill friday and doing my first run of today.

i made atleast 2 runs per day since the event started, exept yesterday, i couldnt play as i had a brutal 19 hour shift at work.

 

today i was off and managed to play some rounds... in the morning i did a full run and hoped into 2 finales. in the afternoon i did a full run as a crew member and a full run as host, the latter resulted in a complete waste of time as my console freeze in the awards screen(bronze, silver, etc) and resulted in me not getting my money. at a 40/20 cut, thats a loss of a million dollar.

LMAO I was about to come here and sing the praises of the SIgn Up list for playing this heist with people from the forum.

 

We EASILY got through the bank and all the way to the jump.....easy peezy when you're not playing with stupid randoms......and whattayaknow, a dude comes flying on his bike and knocks me off mine, to my death as I slid down the cliff lol.

 

We beat it on the next try though. That sure does beat trying for 3 hours with the same randoms making the same mistakes.

I have a feeling that R* may patch PacStandard by disallowing players to enter their apartments to retrieve PVs. In a foreseeable future, that is.

Level 6 on the hack setup actually stayed in my armoured Kuruma and helped as best he could. Then when we get in the black van I'm thinking "He's gonna keep getting shot out the back" He got in the back and managed to stay alive whilst I've seen level 100s die just after turning out of the alleyway. Today was a good day.

Won't matter to skilled players. The kuruma method is obviously easy but you can get to the dinghy in a regular cop car nearly as quick and safe with the heavy vest and having plenty of snacks.

People are still jumping instead of going straight to the boat, regardless of the transportaion method used.

No pity for anyone still parachuting off the cliff, it's a step not needed, & rather pointless...especially when playing with randoms.

Yep, a couple of days ago I played through all the setups twice, back to back with 1 friend and 2 helpful randoms, so I now have a finale ready on both of my characters to complete tomorrow with a few friends that need the money more than me and haven't had as much time to play. Only time I've ever set it to 10-30-30-30, were 5 occasions when I had 3 girls whom I know team up with me in the Heists.

Otherwise I've always implemented my standard cut preferences.

 

Well it's ok when your not doing it RIGHT AFTER the setups.

Waiting a bit to do it with friends, because at least prior the randoms whom went through all the setups got paid along the way.

Thus they can move on, not waiting to see if you plan to invite them after that last setup.

However doing the finale immediatly afterwards, throwing those who helped to the curb for some friends who did nothing is an @ss move.

 

However this is GTA, people can be douches if they want to.

If you want to have some extra fun in the Signals setup, there's a jet in Fort Zancudo you can steal. So if you got the chopper all the pilot has to do is let you jump into the base. And then you can use the jet to destroy cop heli's in Grapeseed.

 

Definitely beats waiting on the island

I remember the first time I did the Vans setup way back when it released, thinking that a mic was needed in order to communicate to find the vans.
