GTAF Fantasy Premier League 15/16

Evening, chaps. Thought it would be a good time to create a Fantasy Premier League for the new coming season. http://fantasy.premierleague.com/

 

Rather than writing endless paragraphs of the rules on how the point system works. I thought it would be a better idea to link the page with all the official rules on the site: http://fantasy.premierleague.com/rules/

 

To join the GTAF league where other members will be participating, click on the 'Leagues' tab, then click 'Join a league', where you will see an option to join a private league. Then enter this code: 762526-199806

 

It would be extremely helpful if everybody would post a screenshot of their team they're starting with, and their team name to make it easier to identify everybody and to compare different teams members are playing with.

I don't understand why it doesn't let me choose three players from the same team. I have Mata and Rooney in my squad and I want to add Darmian as defender, but it says you can't choose three players from the same team when the rules state you can

 

And how the heck do I change my formation? It was originally 4-4-2 and somehow it changed to 3-4-3.

I don't know how to get more than three from a club, but that might be something you can't do after you have completed your first transfers and what not.

 

As for the formations, they change when you put an extra defender at midfield, or if you put a midfielder in defense, or an attacker in midfield/defense, that's how it went for me at least.

Yeah, no, I didn't do anything to my squad in order for the formation to change. But I guess I'll have to find a way or just settle for it. Also, I decided to take out Cech and put Hart in. Gonna have to get Kompany next time.

Not that I want to tell you how to play FPL given that you're beating me lol but I never understood the rationale in having two good keepers in your squad. Imo it's a waste of money; both Hart and Cech are worth 6.0/6.5 (can't remember off the top of my head), and assuming that neither Arsenal nor City play like absolute tripe (i.e. losing games on the regular, no clean sheets etc.), why wouldn't you just have one good one and have some sh*tlicker worth 4.0 to keep on the bench. That extra 2.0/2.5 can be used towards getting a slightly better attacker/midfielder (where most of the points lie after all). I mean, it'd be frustrating if you had someone like Courtois in week 1 and you got nice personed with a red card, and your cheap replacement keeper isn't even likely to play (mine hasn't played yet, I think he's Norwich's reserve keeper or something lmao) which means you might have to transfer one in, but still the chances of that happening are still fairly low (realistically, how often do keepers from top 4/5 teams actually get red cards in games).

I've got Romero and Hart. Hart is City's one and only best keeper, while Romero is our short term solution until we find a solid keeper willing to play for us.If Romero keeps it up, then we might not have to but I'd rather we do. Getting a sh*t keeper is going to cost points for me especially when I have a good attack and midfield. But Rooney is pissing me off and I might have to swap him with Aguero or something.

Can you post a screenshot? Because there's no reason you can't have 3 United players in your squad.

Absolutely. That 2/2.5 you save from getting a worse keeper will be far better off invested in a reliable striker or midfielder. Besides, at the end of the season, those 4.0/4.5 keepers like Speroni/Schmeichel and the like will have nearly as many points as your Cechs and Harts. I've personally gone the way of having two budget keepers that I can rotate in and out for favorable fixtures.

 

Currently sitting at #2. Very close at the top! Hopefully it stays that way all the way to the end Last year Eddie Butler was running away with it at the end, but now he's in a mid-table crisis!!

50 points from Aguero © today. That's something I won't see for long time to come, gonna sit back and enjoy that one. Plus, that really turned a lot of leagues on their head today. In my private league, this dude who had been sitting top since day 1 just plummeted to fifth.
