GamesBoy316 2,258
Is this seriously necessary? You're juxtaposing a 2000s video game based on the 80s from the PS2 system to a more modern video game from a new console. There's obviously going to be disparities, especially since both of them are from different decades. So let's stop comparing the two already, because both games are good in their own way. Just let people like us appreciate Vice City. If you have problems with that, then remember that this is the Vice City section.
fawk_faber 121
Based on Miami Beach. Tommy Vercetti Better storyline than V. Much more fun Funnier than V Cops are fun to mess with, and throwing them into the water. 6 stars are the best.

Year doesn't make much difference in a a game being good, V is only 3 years old and the story and protagonist is better in VC, a 2002 game.

Ahhh...I remember my first time i got my hands on a chainsaw. Good times I had using that to massacre NPC's. And lets not forget the job outfit Tommy got after the bank heist. piko 191
Soundtrack is way better, cops are less aggressive and actually use nightsticks at one star, 100% really means doing everything unlike in V, money has to be earned with work and not by buying and selling stocks.

gtafan2u 201
Why didn't they keep Tommy in the future GTA 4/5? I love Tommy. If R* will put Tommy in the future GTA 4/5 then those games will not have any speciallity. They will look like Vice City 2 or 3. So, R* will never keep Tommy again in future. Seems it is a modified one. It was an early screenshot like s2n vanish said. It wasn't a beta screenshot either. Notice how Tommy's face is complete as it was ment to look in the final game. Compare his face with a beta picture. Tommy's face looks very different. Look at @Passive Modes screenshot above ^^ That's a beta picture of Tommy holding a chainsaw. He looks a little fat to me when he was in his beta stages...or it just me? Lol Edited September 6, 2015 by GTA_The_Series

SmokesWithCigs 1,831
- Cool interiors (North Point Mall and Malibu Club) - Hunter > Savage - Has Seasparrow - You can buy new houses - Hidden packages are better than letter scraps and all the other collectibles in gta v - 80's vibe is awesome - Decapitation - 6 Wanted stars instead of 5 - More fun missions - Weapons feel better and different in some ways - Much more unlockable rewards (Unique cars for doing sunshine autos lists, Hidden package rewards, Fireproof reward) yeah theres more safe houses but only two of those have interiors aside from the owned buisnesses. other than that they are just save points. I like that secret random apartment interior with the scarface shower easter egg. theres even a chainsaw there.
King Vercetti 700
VC was, is, and always will be the most fun game in the series to me. It just has a certain feel and vibe that none of the other games has captured in quite the same way. Even though V is my second favorite, it doesn't come close to how much fun Vice City was the first time I played it, and that feeling comes back every time I return to it. The music is better, the missions are better, the story is better, and of course, being a huge Miami Vice fan helps too! Edited September 15, 2015 by King Vercetti
gluserty 66
I think GTA V is a fantastic game (my only issue with it at all is that I would've liked a few more heists overall, especially ones that weren't for the government), but Vice City is my favorite city, and I do agree with those who say that this game really nailed it with the business acquisition feature (I think the stories game did a great job with the Empire Building as well; although it may be repetitive to some, I get a real kick out of it). JamesG 52
-Better atmosphere -Better cheats -Overall funner gameplay -Awesome time period -Awesome music -Miami Vice -Kiiillll freennzyyyy or do they call them Rampages in Vice City? -Vigilante/Taxi/Ambulance/Firefighter/Pizza Boy missions -TopFun -Stadium Events -Malibu Club -Amazing, well written story -Ray Liotta -Philip Michael Thomas -Burt Reynolds -Miami setting -Stinger and Cheetah -Hidden Packages to collect -Street races at Sunshine Auto's which unlock special cars -I can probably go on all night. xDPeople often misunderstand "better", V obviously has improved combat and movement, graphics and all that, but as a total fun-factor - the whole point of video games, it's at a loss. They lost that thing, that magic. Sometimes the simple things in life are better, Vice City being the simple thing. I guess I just miss that generation of gaming. The old GTA's felt special, epic...Don't forget typing CERTAINDEATH to make Tommy even more of a badass with a cigarette in his mouth. mcorleone_9015 153
- Better storyline - Tommy Vercetti - More interesting setting/atmosphere - Many memorable characters (almost everyone in VC was unique; V only has like 4 or 5 interesting characters) - Better music (obviously) - Better humor (not childish and juvenile like V's) - No regenerating health - Rampages - Actual Gang Wars - Katana, flamethrower and chainsaw - Better looking cars - Decapitation - More interiors - Better money and business management - 80's vibe
Sonny_Black 3,123
Old game or not we can always compare, you know why ? because this is the GTA Series; anyway, -Much much better story, worthy of a gangster film + inspirations -Tommy has more charisma than M/F/T combined -Weapons like the katana, chainsaw -Amazing interiors -Awesome activities -Cars -The soundtrack, holy sh*t ! -The HUD, classic GTA HUD ! -The others characters (Candy Suxx, Ken Rosenberg etc) And many more things Edited September 17, 2015 by cry_wolf
Journey_95 3,919
VC is better than V in terms of story (simple but good), protagonist (Tommy just sh*ts on the V protags), side characters (who are actually memorable and not obnoxious), atmosphere (the great 80's atmosphere) etc. for me.
CarloSpicyWiener 43
VC has a better antagonists. V did add some good new features, but it missed out on basic ones such as interiors and vigilante.
combustion 1,872
Better gang conflicts. Tommy Vercetti is easily better than V's trio. Protagonist's gang feels like a gang. No underpowered Rhino. Better looking Cheetah. Memorable and better antagonists. Easter eggs which are actually interesting. VC is not overly satirical as V. Better 100% completion shirt Better rewards. VC has challenging missions. Better characters. Better stock protagonist outfit. Better final mission and ending. Vercetti Estate. Better radio stations. Stadium events. No silly official multiplayer mode. VC was developed for the right audience group. Tommy can crouch. More interiors. Better melee weapons. 6 star wanted level.
