I praise for the existence of the Akula. Literally the most versatile heli i've owned, and if I wasn't paranoid enough, go off the radar and change course before whoever's following me knows what's happening.

There's plenty in files, can create whole new locations

I have bought GTAV for PC for the sole purpose of modding/photoshoots/filming but haven't even booted it up yet thanks to the new job taking up most of my time. Using the XBone for pics has been an interesting challenge - and gratifying when the pics turn out well - but it's still really limited, even with Director mode.

I'd really like to get into building new locations using game files and posing the character models on PC, especially with access to PVs and interior locations :) Not really sure where to start or what I can do that doesn't result in a ban when it comes to mods though... I only want them to make custom videos/photos but don't want to jeopardise my account.

Credit where it's due: there's now a new contact mission which is just good, old-fashioned 'blow stuff up for Simeon' work, rather than 'secret agent action hero for hire' nonsense.

And it gets better: you enter an Import/Export-style vehicle warehouse, destroy a bunch of wanky luxury cars, then go downstairs and blow up all the special vehicles as well! Round that out with a shootout against regular dudes (no literal aimbot cyborgs, here!), and it's the nearest thing I've had to fun in GTAO since ...goodness, I can't even remember.

Granted, one of the other new repo missions has you driving around in some stupid Arena War thing, so it's not all sunshine and schadenfreude, but at the very least, Blow Up IV is a pleasant surprise - and a cathartic one at that! Now I just need equivalent follow-ups involving hangars and facilities - I need to take a Jerry can to some whirlybirds and war machines, ASAP... :die:

Today my gasp is about Casino cutscenes. Unlike heist ones, they don't remove players' hats and accessories. Way to go.

R* fixed the bug where swapping characters would cause one of them to lose their hair (!?!) every time you enter the game.

...you heard that correctly: R* actually fixed a cosmetic bug that has nothing to do with money glitches. :O

(also, lol that I had to dig back five pages in order to find this thread, and that the last few posts have been at least a month apart - speaks volumes, doesn't it? :sigh:)

They deserve a couple rounds of standing ovations for DC&R's vehicle selection.

A Bentley, an RS5, an M635i, a pair of awesome Challengers, Maserati Lavante, a Bugatti Divo & a frickin Spyker. I did not see that one coming!

They're all top notch quality too (save for Lavante) 👌👍

No pressure at for the December dlc.

I didn't really appreciate the extensive catalogue of NPC insults in GTA until I started playing NFS Heat.

I get called sh*tbird by cops in NFS more times in one night than I do other insults in GTA over the course of the week, sometimes I even go months before an NPC calls me Twat again. And I play GTA every day.

I’d like to gasp and praise at the ultimate team mate @IceDree

I thought I was an expert on getting things done but whenever we do anything he shows me better ways to do things.

The green insurgents sale for example he drives to the next drop before I’ve gotten the third insurgent there...he’s a beast :!

The last two updates between the content added and the patch list have been gasp and praise worthy: gambling, epic penthouse, great car rosters for each dlc, EWO cooldown, broomstick cooldown, new music even if most of it does stink, all cars have liveries now, the new heist is variable and has unique missions for each approach, they add heavily requested cars with each update now like the Gauntlets and now open wheel cars. I like how they’ll do a pair of cars by one brand, usually one vintage and one modern, last update it was the Gauntlets this one it’s the Dinkas. I could go on and will add anything else that comes to mind, good job R*!

Nope they likely swerved to kill you with the wing of their car because they recently  replaced their hood after a T-bone the previous week.

Sure, GTAO might be in the middle of an apocalypse right now (seriously: if I end up losing cars and the like because of this bug - and if R* doesn't provide adequate in-game compensation to re-buy everything - that's me finally done with the game), but at least one thing's turned out OK: for the first time in living memory, Social Club lists my "favourite radio station" as the one I actually listen to on the regular (The Lowdown 91.1), and not Los Santos friggin' Rock Radio... :sigh:

R* fixed the bald head problem when you switched from your female character to your male character a while back. That was something.

The fact that we're all pissed off for losing our progress (whatever the cause) says enough, 6+ years after release we still live for this game, even if we dont all admit it to ourselves.

Noteworthy mentions from past few months
- After all this time we got a casino & theres a ton of stuff to do both in the casino and in the stories surrounding it, easily top3 dlc in my book.
- After all this time we finally got a heist with multiple 'solutions' in Online (please more of those)
- They have started adding pretty rare & exotic real life cars (read: from smaller manufacturers, please more of those aswell)

- F-ing F1 cars holy sh*t who wouldve ever imagined
- Finally we are starting to get roleplay outfits, even if still no cop or swat this is good progress, lets hope we get those 2 in the future (come on we've been begging for cops & robbers dlc for years, make it so)

Whoever decided that, after over six years, off-road tyres needed a revamp to look more like those on real trucks and other off-roaders, and less like something off a tractor or an RC buggy, needs a medal ('for services to small cosmetic details that most people didn't care about, no-one asked for, and that R* normally just ignores, but are very much welcome all the same', or something like that)...

...oh, and as a result, my Karin Rebel went to LSC for some modifications (i.e., finally ditching the muscle tyres/rims that were a passable stand-in for period-authentic Hilux tyres/rims) for the first time since 2014:O

Joined session, Collect Checkpoints had 7 minutes left on it, 'meh, why not?'

Jumped on OPMKII, did 21 CP's, came first, $88,500. Awesome, Triple rewards for FM events, very nice indeed.

EA will pull the plug on Need For Speed Heat today, the update they'll release today will be the last one for NFS Heat. This update will bring bug fixes and cross-platform sessions, that's it, no new content.

Heat came out 6 months ago. It received 1 bug fixe update, 1 content update (+ a $5 car) & today's update will be the third & last one.

sh*t like this makes me appreciate R* & their "commitment" to keeping GTAO alive for almost 7 years.

See, I'm so glad I just stuck with Forza Horizon 4 - even if there are no new cars coming beyond the list of WIP cars that leaked several months back, that's still around 100 cars yet to come, in a game that launched with 450, and currently has (IIRC) 685 after 2.5 years (and with most of those cars being free unlockables from monthly updates).

Playground's done a good job with turning Horizon into a 'live service' - particularly because there aren't microtransactions, largely due to them making money from Game Pass instead, I imagine. It's funny to think that where a lot of franchises added microtransactions after becoming 'live services' (as a way of getting money out of players beyond that up-front purchase for the base game), Forza Horizon had microtransactions from the beginning, and got rid of them when switching to a 'game-as-service' model. Makes me optimistic about Horizon 5 - and that totally-not-Fable-4 (lol) open-world RPG project their second studio is working on, too.

Making tracks in the creator is like painting. You spend so long staring at it and dicking about with it, once it's done, you never want to see it again.

One of the things that still makes me happy is when the sun rises on GTA Online. Still feels good to take a flight in something small like the Ultralight from Grapeseed airfield down the east coast to the airport as the sun is coming up.

I love the Molotok plane because I can land it pretty much anywhere. Last night, I've landed in front of the Casino but the valet guy wasn't there (yes I know the valet only drives cars).

That's what I like about the Deluxo - I've said this in other threads after finally buying one, but I feel it gets a bad rap because 'flying car' for the folks (like me, tbf) who preferred the game to stay grounded in reality, and most people use them as griefing tools. Use it in solo sessions, leave the weapons off, and it's a great-looking, good-sounding, nice-driving DMC-12 knock-off - and then you have the added neat quirk of going "oh ho, BttF Easter egg!", activating hover mode, and zipping across the map in no time, or having a giggle because you've parked a car on top of Maze Bank Tower. :p

But then, I hate the Depressor variants in Online, but can't get enough of the similar jetbikes in Saints Row - because in a single-player game, they're fun things for me to dick around with as I see fit, and I'm not ruining anyone's fun/immersion with them. There's a whole lot of stuff that really doesn't work in an online ecosystem (kinda like the videogame version of passive smoking - you can't smoke indoors without non-smokers having to breathe it in, whether they like it or not), but just because the implementation is flawed (or just flat-out conceptually inappropriate), doesn't mean that the individual things are bad - indeed, a lot of them are really rather well done, in isolation.

I personally like the Oppressor MK-II since I only use it for grinding. Never have never will destroy other people's cargo. It's a shame a it gets a bad rep from griefers. Back in the day, the Deluxo used to be the meta griefing vehicle.

The more I think about it, the more it feels like a victim of context. It needs a Terrorbyte in order to modify it (so screw anyone who didn't want a Terrorbyte, but just wants to use the Mk II), and in turn, that requires a nightclub - and as someone who owns a nightclub, but only uses it as a club, and doesn't want it turned into a contraband hub that also houses a spy truck and jetbike workshop (can't those all be, y'know, separate things?), there's no way of having a go with the Mk II without permanently ruining my nightclub.

...and on top of that, it came as part of an update that didn't include a bunch of thematically-appropriate vehicles or clothing, but did see fit to add a second Oppressor variant - and it'd take another year and a half after that for the game to get something as mundane as a Honda freakin' Civic. None of that makes the Mk II bad in and of itself - once again, it's a perfectly neat thing, that comes across a lot worse because of how it's used, how it was implemented, and arguably more appropriate things not getting made because time/resources were spent on it instead. :sigh:

Honestly, you could take everything in the game, keep it in, but restructure how everything fits together (decouple certain purchases/systems, make some things unusable outside of certain situations, etc.), and all those problems would go away - because, yet again, a lot of the problems R* adds to the game are in the implementation, while so much of the individual things are really solid (property designs/interiors in particular are consistently impressive).

Exactly. Everyone thought "Oh that's a nice change of pace, a Nightclub update! What could possibly go wrong?"

You don't need a nightclub and Terrorbyte to own a Mk II though -- only if you want a Mk II *with missiles*.

And even those can probably be added with a merge glitch.
