Claude_Lib
Why in the world do you need registry path? Even in OpenIV we have to manually tell the tool where the game is placed. If anything, you can make your program search for the games' exes in typical locations like %ProgramFiles%/Rockstar Games/ or %ProgramFiles%/Steam/Steamapps/common/. If anything, you can make your program search for the games' exes in typical locations like %ProgramFiles%/Rockstar Games/ or %ProgramFiles%/Steam/Steamapps/common/. Simply because it saves the users time. It pastes the found location to a TextBox so you don't need to enter it your own, but still can edit the path. The only condition is: The folder must contain the main executable of the current game. Edited August 12, 2015 by reditec Igor Bogdanoff
SilverRST
Well, what about people who have their GTA games installations installed on usb drives? Like I do? I regulary backup my sh*t before losing sh*t and re-installing OS and other crap. Registry, lol, that's so yesterday. @Claude Liberty, my GTA folders are rather placed right in front of my nose, they are placed in Desktop and not in ProgramFiles/Rockstar Games Edited August 12, 2015 by SilverRST
reditec
First of all, I don't recommend you to install games on a USB (2.0!!!) device, but that's OffTopic. :-) It pastes the found location to a TextBox so you don't need to enter it your own, but still can edit(!!!!!!!!!!!!!) the path. (by editing the textbox ofcourse) Are you sure, you read my most recent post, SilverRST? If you're asking about a way to detect your game folder on your USB device, so you don't have to type, I must disappoint you a bit, I won't start working on such a feature, but you may improve the source with your own ideas once this tool is released Registry, lol, that's so yesterday. Uhm.. Somehow I can agree with that, but I guess it's useful if you use it right (e.g. for getting game pathes)
SilverRST
reditec, yes, I read all of them. I is just messin' around here And yep, I do have USB 3.0, it's kind of a mini-SSD, it's the Kingston HyperX 256GB. And no, I like selecting my own folders as I have different installations so I'm more into the real manual deal, you know. I keep visiting this topic. It's nice to see you developing a tool for older GTA games, Wish we could have a much more better and updated TXD Workshop and MEd. reditec
Wish we could have a much more better and updated TXD Workshop and MEd. (Map Editor) TXDs will be supported in the next update, but I've heard that some other guy is working on such a tool, too in C++. I hope they both will be good
comet_
I'm glad that, finally, someone able to decided to make this happen. I'm sure me and many others long wished for an unified file editor/manager for the III Trilogy. I can't really help you with the tool itself, but here's a logo/exe icon I made. I'm no designer nor artist, but you could probably find some use for this. Maybe try to remake it or something. theNGclan and vizs

reditec
Status update: Finally I managed to fix a bug that caused some opened forms not to disappear. Now working on the updater - Yes, that's the last thing I'll implement before the release. Do you know a good place where I can upload the exe file later too? I need to access the code via my exe file, so it must be a direct link Not e.g. Mediafire, I'm looking for a webspace where i can access the file contantly, like: example.org/downlods/file/145893/file.exe (direct link to file) I know I could use Dropbox, but Dropbox does only support a specific amount of traffic. After like 1000 calls, it just displays an error message... Any ideas? Otherwhise I'll upload it to my own webspace, but my hoster isn't reliable. Sometimes it crashes and is not accessible. Do you know good (AND CHEAP ) hosters maybe? Edited August 13, 2015 by reditec

reditec
Still haven't seen even one gta related function of this tool. All I've seen so far is a standard file browser? Yupp I didn't screenshot the IMG reader (soon editor), yet. Because I didn't link the IMG reader to the Explorer yet, I can't provide screenshots of the IMG reader. But after I linked them, you guys will see how I want things to work. The File Explorer is currently just the most important part. It's the base for creating any other tools like a TXD viewer / editor and this stuff. Probably I'll be able to link both programs this evening and share some screenshots. Stay tuned! reditec
Okay guys, I think we'll start rolling out Nightly Builds in like 5 hours :-) The updater is in work (I'm glad a friend of mine takes care of this) and I'm finishing serious bugs and caring i currently only have those issues: Can't open Folders (easy) Can't open files (easy) Updater missing (easy - medium) Webspace missing (Maybe I'll use GitHub / easy) Context menus missing (easy) Some serious bugs with the File Explorer (easy anyway) Can't open files with IMG Reader (easy) Credits missing (very easy) Fixed | Fixed in Parts | Not fixed yet Edited August 18, 2015 by reditec Sweet Bellic
reditec
Guys, I'm sorry I wasn't able to to all the stuff yesterday evening. Anyway. Now I fixed the last bug on my list. That doesn't mean there are no bugs left, this only means I'm not aware of any bugs and that's exactly why we start rolling out Nightly Builds now. I didn't test OpenRW yet on other operating systems than Windows 10, 8.1 (and I think 7 also, but am not sure atm). It requires .NET Framework 4.5 to be installed. I'll post the link in half on hour, I'm just setting up GitHub and creating an installer. If you like OpenRW and want to support us, feel free to join the team, just add me on skype (spielereditec / link's in my GTAforums profile). OpenRW might not fullfill your expactations, but don't worry, we'll add a bunch of nice features soon - probably nightly. If you experience bugs, please post your story below with some screenshots We do not record any usage statistics yet. That means, the program doesn't send us any information like crash reports and other useful things like OpenIV does, but I think we'll implement such a system soon. OpenRW and it's source are hosted on GitHub. The translation site will probably be hosted at launchpad soon, but first I have to put all strings into .xml files. I'll post a detailed feature list in a few minutes. Download: [C#] Source: Edited August 19, 2015 by reditec Sweet Bellic and Jinx.

Link2012
I don't think you should put the binaries in a git repository? I think you missed the releases page. And if you are doing so because of an auto-updater or whatever, GitHub has an API, so you can access the releases.
