Norsea Posted July 21, 2015 Share Posted July 21, 2015 (edited) Sup fellas, and lady fellas (fite me reddagger) I'm sure this was brought up so many times before.. but I'd love to get a public opinion about this. To start, I'll give you a bit of background. Back before the major forums update, if you messed up or made a typo in your post, you could quickly edit it and you'd be fine. No pesky "Last edited by (name) at 00:00 PM" or anything like that. It was just kind of like a second chance. Of course, I believe there was about a 1-4 minute cooldown period of some sort.. so if you edited after 6 minutes, it'd show up that you actually did edit your post. Some may be questioning.. "Why the hell would they bring this back?". Many people do miss this feature and it just seems to have disappeared for no apparent reason (that the public knows of). It keeps the post looking neat and free of any random stuff. I think it came back just a short time ago, when the April Fools prank went on.. but then it disappeared again. Would anybody love to see this return? I personally would be happy to see it make a come back Of course, if you don't like the idea, or have another suggestion, feel free to post below. I often end up making minor edits to my posts merely a few seconds to a couple of minutes due to, say, a typo or because I'd like to extend said posts a little. Most of the time when I'm editing a post it's either to edit in a quote or fix a typo. It would just be nice if I could make these quick edits without having an ugly tag showing up in my post and making my OCD go off the scale. Jim Posted July 21, 2015 Share Posted July 21, 2015 Sure, this isn't a necessary feature, but those of us who are perfectionists and happen to notice our errors after we post would love to have anywhere from a minute to five minutes to edit our posts before "Edited by" is stamped on the post. Kirsty Posted July 22, 2015 Share Posted July 22, 2015 As far as I can tell, there is no longer a "ninja edit" feature or cooldown period option. It is simply a Yes or No question in the settings whether a particular member group can remove the "Edited By" line each time they edit their post. When a post is reported it shows the post as it was when it was reported, so editing it won't change what shows up in the report.
