So what's the explanation for cars purposely crashing into you?

Has any PC gamer looked into the files and figured out why cars just crash into you?

Game engine quirk. Cars typically drive in scripted paths, but when they need to transition to using their manual driving (often to avoid something or account for the player), their physics screw up and they often lose control during the transition, often crashing into you if you get to close to the left lane.

It's not something that can be fixed with simple file edits.

Realism. Try driving like that in real life and see if anyone crashes into you.

It's sad that this weak excuse is first post

I'm pretty sure it was intentionally designed that way. Sometimes when you come to a t-intersection, a vehicle that is perpendicular to you will slow down or speed up with the intention of crashing into you. It's purposely trying to collide with you at that point.

It's the same thing with the cops in this game. Everything has been turned up to just make the game less predictable, and a predictable game tends to be a boring game.

GTA has always had this problem of cars crashing into you, i'm too used to it to even care.

I've been drivin' up motorways. Those little barriers in the middle that separates the two roads? Yeah, so I got to the cutoff. I'm on the right side goin' up the road while they are on the left side goin' down the road. NPC goes straight through the gap and knocks me straight off my Harley, killin' me, and then the game impounds it despite havin' no cops.

And they say games don't hate you...

Yes, sometimes even on roads, if the cars are stopped at a stop light, if you go past them, you can see their wheels turning to you even though they're not moving. If they were, they'd go crashing into you. I've seen cars changing lanes completely then going back just to try to crash with me.

I think it's a pretty ridiculous mechanic but that's the Rockstar of the 2010's for you.

It's more frequent in V and a more pain in the ass because sometimes you can't push the car out of the way

idk what’s going on but it’s worse when you drive fast for long periods of time without crashing , you can literally see the npc change route to a ridiculous lane cut or Uturn just to run into you and i’ve even seen other gameplay where the npc’s car glitches towards you almost as if it’s clinging onto you . it’s crazy and there no way someone could say “that’s what happens when you drive fast“ hell na even with franklins special you still see these npcs deliberately driving into you or your path . why would rockstar find it necessary to do this ? honestly just to make people mad and it does , wish they’d fix it , it’s a real problem

i see exactly what you’re saying but that’s why real accidents happen . if you see someone speeding, just drive regular. they’re already accounting for what you’re about to do . but if you go into the opposite lane as your turn signal then of course i was going to go that way and the accident if your fault 🤬

Rockstar was trying to accurately recreate typical LA drivers and I think they did a good job tbh

For real, a lot of southern Californians probably found their driver license in the box of corn flakes

Truth be told, in any other game it would be considered a bug but in V it’s a legitimate feature

It wouldn't really be that bad if you could go to another state where people drive differently but in this case it's like having only dumb friends and not being able to make new for 9 years :jkek:

I mean in V's defense, the traffic in the North Yankton levels were pretty polite
