Heists
actually if the overall vibe of GTA V and IV is combined i think it'll make a pretty good game , imagine doing IV "loud and dumb" styled heist with the little background music and movie like feel just like in V , or imagine going bowling with your cousin , or something. idk. so yes i wanted V's atmosphere on the next game , but a bit mixed with GTA IV. My thoughts exactly. Edgrd
Osho
I liked Vs vibe. Nothing to complain about the games vibe when it comes to any GTA. The way story was structured as watching some hollywood movie with smooth cut scenes playing out was obvious top notch ( not the story, talking about the technique and quality ) but was a major pain in the butt when everything played out so linear, so tightly scripted, that I had to struggle for freedom to play those missions in the process. It totally goes against the feeling of giving players the sandbox gaming experience. Even S&F, RE, collectibles, and more or less everything plays out in the same fashion offering not much of a change in experience for being creative with the sandbox. So, NO. I definitely don't want to see the next gta to have that boring, linear, movie feel with little to no replayability. R* Movie Productions should take note of the way Far cry 2 was designed in treating the players less of a lazy casual, and more of a thinking player to find and try experimenting with the sandbox possibilities. FC2 is 100x better in this regard than GTA IV and V! Algonquin Assassin and Edgrd
Jabalous
I couldn't stand the vibe of TBOGT let alone being able to do that with V. I am not into cheap jokes, superficial characters and uninspired dialogue, so the whole vibe of V brings me nausea. I can go on youtube to watch and enjoy cutscenes of action/adventure games that I finished before, like GTA IV, The Last of Us, Uncharted, but to this day, I can't think of how irritated I would be watching a single cutscene of GTA V. It's just yuck. fac316, Official General and Algonquin Assassin
Uncle Vlad
I have no problem with the more cinematographic vibe, in fact I love the dynamic score in a GTA game. But it would be nice if the whole thing would be less linear next time. Sometimes it feels we are supposed to play V like R* intended and not to play it the way we like. GourangaMaster
if anything, I thought V was structured even more like a sitcom than a movie emphasis on dialogue over story and plot carrying independent 'episodes' caricatures over characterization numerous smaller arcs it's structured almost exactly like a crime-comedy sitcom rather than a drama film.. less Michael Mann's Heat or Miami Vice (film) and more like the classic Miami Vice sitcom Sleeping Dogs or The Last of Us are good film-based stories IMO but GTA V is much more like a sitcom imo Yep I definitely felt it had an action/comedy vibe. At times lighthearted yet constantly action packed like Lethal weapon but seemed episodic in plot structure like a tv series. Even the score has that late 80s to 90s guitar driven sound that many action movies of that time period had. otachi and S1N0D3UTSCHT3K
GTA-Biker
GTA 4 and EFLC felt more like a serious drama series (some people were even comparing TLAD with SOA). GTA 5 feels like a blockbuster movie (music playing in missions, over the top stuff...). I don´t know what will GTA 6 be like, but I would personally want it to be something similar to GTA VC and VCS. thafablifee46
I legit hated the score, we really need to have the option to turn it off. I really wasnt feeling the vibe of V also , it didn't feel criminal enough.

Gnocchi Flip Flops
Am I the only one who absolutely couldn't stand the score. It was just so corny. I think way more work should've gone into it because it didn't sound high budget, it sounded low budget, even if that's not true. I personally prefer no music, I don't need music to get immersed, but if the next game were to have a score: Have the option to turn it off, don't force it. Have a badass brassy vibe to it, nothing too electro. donnits and The Dedito Gae
J Cobra
Yeah, the action packed movie feel was very exciting. But I hope in the next one, the pacing isn't so fast. It was hard for me, to get a connection with most of the charaters. However, I don't want things to go back to GTA IV. The atmosphere sucked, the slow pacing was annoying (Get to the f*cking point) and the whole mafia crime movie vibe, feels like it would be cool for my grandfather. Tony was a good character then adding Bulgarain outta nowhere when Luis Antagonist was Rocko (who dies anti-climatically as well) Edited July 14, 2015 by fac316

Since the third title, we've been playing stories in which we interact with criminal organizations with a wide spectrum of characters of different personalities and attitudes. They were serious stories told by well-thought out and diverse characters who speak and behave seriously, with chunks of clever and subtle humorous dialogue in-between. The game has been known to be stereotypical but in a subtle way as it was never the point, contrary to GTA V in which everything seems to be portrayed as cheesy and wacky. For example, compare between Wu Zi Mu of the Triads in 2004's San Andreas and Tao Cheng of the Triads in V to see the contrast between a well-thought out character and another character who was made to trigger some cheap and unlaughable jokes. It's a lot more like Trailer Park Boys meets Miami Vice than, say.... Breaking Bad or Sopranos. Far too little characterization and story arc. It's like sitcom characters and focus on banter. It actually reminds me a lot of Rescue Me: the caricactures and focus on their dry wit, sarcasm, banter. So, Rescue Me x Trailer Park Boys x Miami Vice lol and Franklin and Lamar? they're basically Ice Cube and Chris Tucker from Friday (1995 film iirc) GourangaMaster
