anyone miss the days where we had to strategize in missions?

I don't really remember people strategizing. All randoms just seem to smash into everything and blow sh*t up, same as back in the day.

You still can. If i'm in a mission grind to make quick money, i'll go for the pegasus vehicles. But if i'm doing missions for fun, i like to strategize with friends and take our time. Not that the missions require strategy, but we kind of role play it, people take shooting positions or play different roles, the possibilites are endless if you're patient and creative enough. Even doing different methods like first person camera lock, using free aim or turning hud off can make missions feel challenging again.

 

Whenever I play with the few usual people who are up for this kinda stuff, it can be really fun. I'm sure you joined me in that first person/free aim grind before, quinn.

I only started playing GTA Online seriously in June, so I have been using strategy to complete missions. I don't have an armoured vehicle or an aircraft yet so I'm using weapons and armour plus my Elegy for cover.

 

I like to use the Riot Van for gang attacks, call this noobish behaviour if you like, I just see it as a good way to eat my dinner while playing

Me and a few guys mix it up these days depending on the mission. I am considered the pilot or technician as I have access to vehicles like the insurgent, technical, savage and hydra.

 

For example, on the mission by land by sea by air I will collect my savage and either insert the team on the roof or deploy them on the ground, helping them if they need it before taking out most of the targets on the roof. these days as well a teammate can use the rockets on the savage.

 

I do sort of miss attempting to things like titan of a job with just an uzi on hard with low turbulent flying skill.

I'm trying to do missions solo using the marksmen pistol to make things harder. I do drive the missions in my Kuruma but it's pistol and cover for mission action.

I miss the days when nobody had the money for Jets and Helis and Tanks and Armoured Troll-mobiles. It was fair for everyone and those who had the high powered weaponry actually put the hours in to earn them!

I must admit I still strategize for missions when I go to play them except Rooftop Rumble which I use the same method for every time.

 

I would have got bored with missions a long time ago had I not been trying different methods for completing them, its difficult to convey

in words but one day I plan to be sharing some videos of my game activities on my Youtube channel, finding the time to upload and edit

though is proving hard given I want to play the game most nights.

I know everyone wants to make money fast but say if your using a pegi vehicle or a evo and other players are going to the objective and u kill everyone and mission passed. do you ever think that what ur doing is ruining the missions value it self? heck all the other players go afk on lsc once they see someone with a hydra or a buzzard "well xxx has a xxx guess I'm not doing nothing then"

 

again i have no problem with player styles just this is a trend in every mission u go to.

 

even with new missions the same thing is gonna happen.

 

maybe we became bored because we are looking for the less time way of doing a mission instead of actually playing it as r* designed it to imo.

Faster completion = Bigger pay

Then when they don't get 40k or even just 10-11k they thumb it down, wtf?

 

I like taking my time and finding different ways to do missions. I honestly can't stand when people use buzzards for almost every mission especially TLSC -_-;

friend of mine used his hydra and destroyed everything in the hangar...I left.

I used to get 430,000 a hour now it's 175,000 and that's less then half.

Funny because we didn't get a x2 mission bonus in over a year, yet they decrease the amount you earn more than half.

 

My mission time went from 20-30 hours a week to 10 hours a week because of this sh*tty feature.

I do miss not knowing how to do any of the missions. I remember having to coordinate with my friends on how to do a certain mission because we didn't really know the mission that well. It usually took several replays(back when we could continuously vote replay) to learn the mission and then become efficient at it. My friends and I use to spend several mind numbing hours grinding Violent Duct because at the time, a $9,000 payout was a lot of money back in GTAO's early days.

 

Hell, I could make a whole thread talking about what I miss about playing GTAO in 2013 because to me, that was when I really enjoyed the game because it was new and I didn't know what all I know now.

 

Anyways, in short, yes I miss those days.

The first week of online was what I hoped it would stay like! It was awesome, just you a street car and Pistol.

As soon as they added `update weapons` without a rank unlock free-roam all went to sh*t , add the fun but ultimately destructive billionaire days effect and free roam and standard missions just weren't as fun because you either had the weapons to make them easier or you didn't care because you had a tonne of money anyway. I would vote for a complete reset of online and lock weapons to rank right up to 500 at least, I would put Launchers and Miniguns at rank 200 unlock

NPC's with full heavy body armor suits (Like in Payday 2), miniguns, and shotguns for up close and in your face combat. A mission like that will be tough but fun!

I just go afk as soon as I see a kuruma or Pegasus vehicle, if I don't then I get a merryweather pickup and snipe people or use an annihilator for lulz.

Not everyone has Hydra's or Savage's OP due to not finding people to do heists with.

Back on topic, I do missions on my own. Because I like to do my own strategies and play at my own pace.

I remember thinking the missions wouldn't be random, & they add new missions everytime. I just finished one & got a message for 'Death from Above' - damn... we got a helicopter, tried killing them with the sniper from Eclipse, getting closer, and after the 4th try we beat it. Now everything is the same, sadly.
