now everyone is with hydra's or the savage or armoured evo's just to get the mission done. eh oh well still gets it done.

Maybe because there are players who want to complete the missions quickly and not waste time? People play according to their own way, not according to yours.

Great logic, in this case if their time is so precious, they don't have the time to waste their time with a video game....

Players do not want to waste time because they prefer to get money quickly

I have stopped using my karuma for this very reason.

I know everyone wants to make money fast but say if your using a pegi vehicle or a evo and other players are going to the objective and u kill everyone and mission passed. do you ever think that what ur doing is ruining the missions value it self? heck all the other players go afk on lsc once they see someone with a hydra or a buzzard "well xxx has a xxx guess I'm not doing nothing then"

again i have no problem with player styles just this is a trend in every mission u go to.

even with new missions the same thing is gonna happen.

maybe we became bored because we are looking for the less time way of doing a mission instead of actually playing it as r* designed it to imo.

IamCourtney

The most strategizing I ever did was whipping random crews of lowbies into hyper-efficient Rooftop Rumble machines under the old payout system. We were all so proud once they were clearing the garage out in exactly the amount of time it took me to go get my Frogger and land it outside...

I'm not saying I want those days back entirely, but some legitmately challenging missions to play in a time-trial mode would be awesome, some high level PvE stuff to do when you're not in the mood for heists.

I'm more of a rounder, when I strategies. I make sure it affects the game were we win. Thus I'm not always with the team.

They just find dead bodies...

Not really. I see a strange upside to using a Buzzard, a fully loaded Valkyrie, and my Savage to decimate the Los Santos Connection crews at the oil works and the airport hangar. And using two Savages and a Buzzard to destroy the bad guys in High Priority case, when we used to have to scramble to find an unarmed helicopter, and put ourselfes in danger by clearing out the rooftop with our firearms and explosives. Plus that helicopter after you pick up the briefcase.

I agree with the OP, some of you dudes do 'Los Santos connection' on hard without a plane or chopper till you get to the airport.. it is a whole lot more fun..

Maybe. Or maybe people realize how boring and repetitive missions really are.

*we had to strategize in missions?

I remember back then In 13' when we had to do missions everyone had to strategize their next move and you had to actually think what ur next step would be in order to pass the mission.

now everyone is with hydra's or the savage or armoured evo's just to get the mission done. eh oh well still gets it done.

now before anyone say "well if u dont like how other people do things host it yourself". that's fine if i want to play alone if my friends aren't on or busy "but u can play with ur friends" yes i can if they aren't busy or on at the time I would like to do missions.

idk i just miss those days a lot and wish we could have that feeling of actualy planning what to do next with our missions allies.

oh well c'est la vie

inb4 bitch thread (which isnt really since im being nostalgic as well stating facts also im not bitching about players I let them do their thing and i do mine it's cool whatevs)

Nothing stops anyone from not using those things.

Also the planning still happens since you have to pick a pegasus vehicle for the job(or kuruma or insurgent), it just goes faster.

If i want to play it hard there are heists....and the elite challenges i still haven't done yet Edited by goldadderXD

If you're looking for a strategized way of doing missions? Try doing Rooftop Rumble, or Stocks & Scares solo using only the Marksman Pistol. It may take longer than the usual methods, but it's a blast to play, and you get a nice cash payout at the end.

As if buzzards or tanks required much more thought... it's basically the same, just with more bigger better toys. It also makes it more feasible to complete them with randoms...

Ah the days when me and a friend played Cleaning the Cathouse wihout making a single noise. Silenced weapons, a knife and stealth. We killed all the Lost without alerting others. A real sense of achievement :)

I hit level 42 probably first week back in Oct'13.

First big purchase was a buzzard and pretty sure strategy was out the window from then on.

The first week of online was what I hoped it would stay like! It was awesome, just you a street car and Pistol.

As soon as they added `update weapons` without a rank unlock free-roam all went to sh*t , add the fun but ultimately destructive billionaire days effect and free roam and standard missions just weren't as fun because you either had the weapons to make them easier or you didn't care because you had a tonne of money anyway. I would vote for a complete reset of online and lock weapons to rank right up to 500 at least, I would put Launchers and Miniguns at rank 200 unlock

I'm waiting for the "flying Kuruma with spamming lock-on missiles" strategy. :p

Yup, everyone running around with pistols only and running out of ammo.

Full crooked cop games that would take forever to complete but still fun

I too started playing in october '13 and mission were harder bsck then.

But I dont dislike the method of using kurumu or savage/hydra/valkyrie (I do them myself with my friends).

People shouldnt have to accomodate YOU in public missions. Everbody has their way and wants to do the mission as fast/efficient as possible.

This is part of the reason I wanted to see the Max Payne 3 weapon carrying system ported over (along with most of the rest of the MP3 mechanics).

Being able to carry only one rifle/shotgun/RPG and a handgun a few explosives would force a bit of co-operation with your team mates and help create designated roles... Or at least it would with smart people. Unfortunately, most of the people you will run across in this game aren't smart people.

No. Here's my current mission strategy:

1. Rooftop Rumble - 4 players

2. Sit character in Armored Kuruma

3. Go make sandwich and check Doritos supply

4. Collect money and RP

Started playing in April '15 with the PC release. Used vintage pistol exclusively until level 33 (AP gun), regular car until level 50 when I started doing heists (unlocked armored Kuruma). Level 200 now.

Didn't notice much of an actual challenge that required "strategy" to get things done. Considering the AI always knows exactly where you are once you start shooting and fires laser-guided bullets at you, tactics consisted of popping in and out of cover, landing headshots as often as possible, inevitably getting hit and eating snacks. Against small groups of enemies it wasn't bad but against large groups (Los Santos Connection, Rooftop Rumble, Death from Above) it was a pain in the ass. Not really my idea of "fun". It's a glorified pop-up shooting gallery.

So no, I don't miss those days. I would genuinly welcome an actual challenge that requires a decent strategy or proper use of tactics but that's never going to happen - the combat system in GTA Online is just too shallow and clunky.

As it stands combat is not much of a challenge, just aggravating against large groups of enemies. Give me a Buzzard, Savage, Hydra or armored Kuruma any day of the week for those select occasions. They enable me to skip the most frustrating parts and by doing so allow me to enjoy the fun parts a whole lot more.

I don't overuse that kind of military hardware, though. Only when the alternatives are frustrating at best. Choppers, jets and armored cars are supposed to be tools, not crutches.

One that still needs a strategy is "High Priority Case", unless you use the Buzzard.

That is because back the everybody was a broke ass two bit hood.

That's why they strategize d and concentrated, because all they had was a piece of sh*t base pistol, an unmodded car, that was also most likely stolen instead of bought, and probably only had a tracker and insurance on it, was their only car, no apt to store it in or hide from cops, light armor if any at all.

Where robbing a store was actually risky.

Michael was right, we have been in the game so long that we have gone from two bit gangsters to three bit gangsters.

Solution is simple we need more contact missions :(

Word.
