A Tree Saved My Fall! What Saved You?

This happened literally just now. I was flying my Savage and decided to go for a jump. I jumped out and deployed my primary chute and glided down a little then cut the chute. I then was a complete prat thinking I had a reserve chute, which I didn't. I was about 7 seconds falling before I hit the tree. I was in the Palamino Highlands. Anyway, after this clumsy fall I was left with literally no health (and I had full armour and health), yet completely amazed I didn't die.

 

So, what have you guys experienced in GTA Online thinking you are about to die, but miraculously survived?

The other day I was in Public Lobby being attacked by multiple people plus the cops. I had recently respawned and just started running and gunning due to me landing right in the middle of it no matter which way I wanted to go. My friend (who just happened to be pulling out of his house and hauling ass down the road rides up on me after noticing me on the map. He honks the horn and I get in. We then lose the cops and just finish up our Daily Objectives.

I was in a huge 2v9 free roam battle, we got slaughtered, but the highlight of it was, when me and my friend were in the chopper, a homing rocket got us, but i jumped out, parachuted on top of the enemy hydra, while he was hovering, and took it, then griefed them for 3 minutes before they blew me out of the sky and griefed me and my friend for 25 minutes, good times

The other day I was in a mission in my Savage, really f*cked up because of some light posts, and when it starts beeping I immediately try to jump out.

It took so f*cking long to jump out the heli, I already knew my destiny was death, so I didn't even try to open my parachute, but miraculously, I was so low to the ground that I survived the fall, yet high enough for the heli to land and blow up far enough not to kill me.

So, for the first and only time, I say thanks to the awfully long time it takes to jump out the heli, otherwise I wouldn't have survived that splat.

Concrete. And the job markers by the Vinewood Radio Tower (long story short I found a non-internet gate glitch there where you could fling cars solo. Used my PV to see how far I could fling it. Glitch could backfire and send me flying or kill me. Heist update fixed all gate glitches )

The fact that you survived the first 3 hits amazes me. Since our characters are so fragile even in max health. I mean slowly sliding down a mountain kills the average player but hitting the hard floor 3 times at high speed doesn't.

 

OT: I survived falling to death thanks to a crane which I smacked hard onto causing me to fall onto the crane itself. I barely had any health but I managed to safely but timely go down all the ladders to get to the ground. In hindsight, I could have just grabbed the parachute that spawns near the crane.

These kind of falling and surviving is pretty common on PC and happens all the time. This is the first video I made using Creator to test it out, the helmet is helping ALOT vs fall damage:

Those three bike videos almost make me want to start wearing a helmet. If I just didn't feel like having a helmet on made me drive worse due to it being less of a risk I'd use them.

I was driving my Osiris, and I was thristing for a ramp, I was in Sandy Shores next to Trevors trailer. I went up the raised sand and flew into the pond, but the mission passed screen showed, and my car didn't get destroyed.

someone was about to divebomb me with besra but i've killed the pilot and the jet change direction in last second , miss the hit

 

this zentorno guy try to run over me with full speed ( which was suppousely can kill player in one hit ) . i killed the guy , did hit me but still not enough to kill me

A NPC driven Sandking once saved me. I had just left a mission with randoms. We spawned, started to fight, then out of nowhere I got run over by a car then a Sandking rolled over me and got stuck. My character just lied there as the other player blew up the vehicles including the Sandking that I was under.

 

I have no idea how I survived but I thank that Sandking driver every day, he wasn't as lucky
