unnecessary statistics.. if any.. if I see a player with a high K/D, he's bound to be dropped.

Sometimes I feel like people who say they don't care about K/D seem to care too much about their opponents K/D, am I wrong ?

Stop caring about kd who really checks kd?!!

You will be fine, i have a kd of 0.20 on my second character since my first got deleted. (And my thread to asking if I can get it back somehow which was deleted )

But i never win dm's. So maybe i can't really say anything.

It's not R* fault in anyway, it's making dm's more challenging and i respect and agree with r* decision 100%

It does affect your K/D ratio correctly and based on the number of kills you mentioned, dropping by 1 is correct. Apparently K/D ratio drops faster than it goes up. Every kill will get you 0,001 K/D ratio. And I believe everytime you are killed, you lose 0,002. This said, and the whole forum will agree with me here, K/D Ratio in GTA Online is somewhat pointless.

How many kills does one need to have a 4.0 K/D?

The only players I noticed have a really high K/D are the same players I constantly see "take the easy way out" in freeroam. I'm sure there are some legit high K/D.

Mine only bothers me if it's below 1.0 since I normally let players get the first kill in freeroam. I also have a bad habit of going afk spontaneously. Overall (to me) GTA K/D isn't important but some legit ones are pretty impressive.

Wow. It's a simple ratio. Divide your kills by your deaths (k/d). If you have 10,000 kills and 2,500 deaths then, 10,000/2,500 = 4.00.

If you have 2 kills and 1 death then, 2/1=1.00.

f*cking math dude.

Not as bad as the time my K/D was 1.89 and the next day it was 1.52 and I was given 72 losses out of nowhere. That was the day I stopped caring about K/D ratio.

I regret not taking screenshots but guys it's true. I wouldn't lie.

So can anyone please confirm that wearing Heist armor gives you extra bullet absorption in DMs as all weekend it seemed it took more than two headshots to kill folks with no BP helmets.

After the ill gotten gains part 2, I discoverd that your kills don't count towards ur kd but your deaths count correctly in deathmatchso. This means that whenever I play death matches my kd will drop. I just finished one with a kill score of 63 to 31 deaths. But when I got back to free mode my kd dropped by 1. Anyone has this stupid problem as well

knew there was a glitch its been here before part 2

u wot m8.

If you have 10 kills and 1 death, dying will reduce your K/D from 10 to 5. It's called a ratio for a reason.

No, maybe I didn't explain enough. Say my K/D is 1.34, I get 10 kills and 1 death, I would still be at 1.34, 0.002 off of that is unoticable as K/D is displayed as 3 digits. Its kind of stupid how it works, but I tested it and apparently thats how it works.

This doesn't even make sense. It depends how much kills you've got overall. Start fresh, kill 10 people, die once, and your K/D ratio, (oh surprise) will be 10. You kill 10 times as many people, as you've died. If you got like 20,000 kills. And today you're getting slaughtered, your K/D will drop by 0,02 or so. Makes sense? No?

Posters trying to look cool by actually saying they don't care about something in a game.

Yeah, you're totally awesome. Do you guys actually hunt down these threads or use the search function just so you can post everywhere that you don't care?

Jeez. It's just numbers. Talking sh*t about people that like to keep a positive (or high) K/D is worse than caring about K/D in the first place. Some people care about K/D, others care about fair play, others care about money or vehicles and yet other people care about trophies, awards and/or achievements.

To attack someone because they made something important for them to enjoy a game more is pathetic.

If you're really that cool, you don't need to tell us you don't care. And if you're REALLY cool, you don't have to badmouth people who make it a personal priority.

EDIT: And obviously, you're (and now I am too) just filling a discussion thread with pointless posts that contribute nothing to the actual topic. Yes, your super cool attitude and not caring about it is related, but still off-topic. The OP was talking about how player kills and deaths in DM's affect K/D ratio. Not how much anyone cares.

Captain Sensib1e

Derp OP, of course its possible to lower your K/D like that.

Lets say for example, you started off with 10 K and 1 D, which is a 10.0 K/D ratio. You go into a DM, get 80 K and 9 D, you now have 90 K and 10 D, dropping your K/D by 1 to 9.0!

And also, the obligatory LOL at K/D in this game.

To all the people who said that I shouldn't care about kd. No kd ratio makes a difference and part of the reason why I like playing gta is killing which means I care about my kd I didn't just buy this game just to drive around in fancy sports car and dress my character like a doll. Kd ratio shows competitiveness. Maybe u guys just don't appreciate killing and death matches cause if u do u will care about ur kd. My kd:1.59 (still needs a lot of work XD)

Huge majority of folks with high K/D's have probably spent most their time in jets/tanks or farming DM with friends so it is by no means a sign of skill or competitiveness pal. I am yet to encounter a decent team player with a high K/D... coincidence?...I don't think so. Sat on top of a building with a minigun/homing launcher/heavy sniper combo all evening will rack you up some kills but it does not make them a good player. The only way K/D will prove you are hot sh*t is if you are able to prove you never use explosives and military hardware (jets/tanks etc) IMO which of course is impossible.
