First of all IT'S NOT R* FAULT YOU GOT BORED. I'm tired of everyone bashing this great company. This company brought you nba2k,red dead, LA nore, etc etc. YOU are bashing a good company that cares about consumers.

 

 

I am ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED at the way this community expects r* to fix this their little nitpick problem.

 

 

R* do | NOT | have to give you jack crap. You got what was advertised to you. THEY are being generous. Towards YOU.

 

stop complaing about irrelevant things.

 

I Play this game every frickin day. And i am overwhelmed with so much to do i haven't been bored once. I play it for 7hours+ each day

Everyone has different opinions, also rockstar doesn't have anything to do with NBA 2k games the last time I checked. The customer is always right, if enough people feel something should be changed, fixed, corrected, etc, it should be. After all rockstar made the game for us the CONSUMERS. They made it for our enjoyment, not theirs. Also last time I checked were all paying customers, doesn't that mean anything these days?

 

Seems like anything outside of the video game world can be "nitpicked" but the second its towards a video gaming company, hold on because this bull is going to buck.

When I see comments like the OP that basically say "Rockstar made a billion dollars on this game so we should get better content for free" I get really aggravated.

 

For starters there is a big difference between revenue and profit. The game took in a billion dollars in revenue at launch time. Once you factor out all the costs like development, marketing, packaging, distribution, and retail profits the actual number is much smaller.

 

Besides that Rockstar is only the developer. Developers are hired by publishers (Take-Two in this case) to put the game together. The publisher takes the game, markets it, prints it, and distributes it. They also pay the bills and collect the money. Take-Two pockets whatever profits the game makes, and if they tell Rockstar to jump it's Rockstar's job to say "yes sir, how high?" Developers just want to make great games. Rockstar has a track record that proves they are capable of making great games even before the micro transactions and DLC started becoming the norm in gaming. If Take-Two said they wanted to monetize GTA:O by using cash cards Rockstar would have no choice in the matter. They do what the boss says, and the boss takes the money at the end of the day. Rockstar benefits by getting their salaries paid as well as more budget money to continue developing for the game. And yes, probably a little bonus on the side as being the reason the game was so successful.

 

When it comes to DLC Take-Two would provide a budget, here's how many DLC's we want and here's your budget to make it happen. If that budget has enough to throw together some new clothes and vehicles then that's what we get.

 

But to say that Rockstar made a billion dollars and is being greedy is ignorant because they would only see a very small fraction of that money. They just get all the grief because it's their name plastered all over the game while Take-Two quietly lines their pockets in the background.

 

Long story short, if there is a gameplay related problem blame Rockstar. If there is a greed problem blame Take-Two.

OP almost sounds like he's trying to start a movement. For what reason I have no idea. True the DLC are usually lackluster and don't last long but R* has been literally bringing more to the table on a regular basis than any other company in terms of DLC. Even if the purpose is to make people buy the shark cards, it's completely optional. Bottom line, all of the DLC is accessible for free if you're willing to work for it.

Every week there is someone new complaining about how Rockstar is supposedly scamming us. OP did you ever play the games from the PS2 era? Back then you had to mostly make use of only the base game. Even though you only had Vice City, people were still able to get years out of the game with little complaint. Even GTA:4 wasn't plagued with all the bullsh*t people try to accuse GTA:5 of being. GTA:5 has one of the better DLC/Payment plans that is currently out there in online gaming. You don't like the DLC/payment system? Then that's fine. Because it's not like they're forcing you to pay or play.

The quality of the updates Rockstar offers and the way they try to make people buy their cashcards, has been beaten to death in various other threads. We're just running in circles here.
