How much time do you spend in public free-roam?

Wow! almost 60 %0-20 votes. Thats 2 full crew sessions if we could all get together. I like to participate in the chaos every now and then, but everyday not so much. I like doing the events in free roam like gang attacks and Lesters distract cops. Robbing stores with 5 stars, cop shoot outs, trying to drop 5 stars legit, turning off radar and trying to find my way around the city. Oh and sunset walks by the beach.

 

Ill make a proper recruitment page someday.

I'll not vote on the poll because since the first update of Ill Gotten I can't get into any public session. No matter how many times I try. And when I get into a public lobby, it won't last long because everyone leaves or I get kicked back to singleplayer.

These days I only can join my own 'Invite only' lobbies or when someone invites me for a public sessions which never happens (always in invite only).

Before this happens I probally was about 80/90% in public lobbies.

It just sucks that most people would rather engage in mindless call of duty style shoot outs then play with other players, explore the map etc. Ive been playing online since day one and expected to see a shift in frre-roam play after the first year or so. Not really.

As little as humanly possible. It has always been a bit of a nightmare and only got worse when I switched to PS4. I made a new character the other day just because and right as I spawned in at level 1, I got killed by some level 230 kid and his friend multiple times and when I shot his friend, he was in god mode.

PS3: 100% free roam, I don't like private unless it's just messing around with stuff with friends which isn't often so most of the time my friends and I are in a public killing ppl.

I like Free Roam and get involved in street wars and take cheap shots and kill AFK's and chase down bounties and fight for crates and pick up rides and meet people and let them fly my Hydra and they blow me up in my Armored Kuruma and then we breeze thru Pacific with some of his crew.

 

Whatever, man, I can only hide in Invite Only for so long. Soon I got to get back on the streets among the peeps playing GTA the way its supposed to be played.

Only really go in freeroam for a car meet..otherwise it's trolls running around killing you...I don't get it why not play deathmatchs? It's probably because they can only get a kill on unsuspecting people in freeroam instead of a real deathmatch. f*cking goofs.

The only time I spend in free-roam is between ending and starting solo missions, or waiting for a while in passive for a good heist invite. Free-roam is a brain-dead sh*thole, pandering to the lowest impulses of the adolescent brain.

 

I would have thought that by this time in human history, one of the premiere open world game companies of the 21st century would have come up with a better concept for actually interacting in the open world.

People like you keep my Free Roam experience... interestingly frightening. As long as you are doing it naturally, not God Mode Glitch or Hacked Insurgent or something lame like that, I can respect that you want to play the game your way.

100% of my time in GTAO is spent in free roam now. I effectively retired from missions and races a while ago, hell I haven't even done a heist yet. My favorite part about games like this is the freedom to just mess around and have fun in an open world.

 

For the past year or so I've been living mostly off of an $8 million cash card I bought wayyyyyyy back last year some time when cash cards were on sale for 50% off, as well as selling off expensive cars when I don't drive them anymore.

 

I have a high end Tinsel Towers apartment, a ten car garage by the airport, and a house in Paleto Bay. I own a few supers (T20, Zentorno, Adder), sports cars, a collection of my favorite muscle cars and sports classics, a big list of Pegasus vehicles (Tank, Buzzard, Besra, etc), an inventory full of nice clothes, and my ammo and armor cache is always full. It's all I need, and I still have about $3 million left for a nest egg.

 

Sometimes I take my cars out for drives around the map, sometimes I fly my Besra around, sometimes I sit in my apartment while I'm eating or something in real life and watch the chaos from my TV, and occasionally I get involved in a street war.

 

I don't play games a lot in the summer months so it's good to be in a position where I can log in and have the freedom to mess around and have fun without having to grind missions for hours a day. I did plenty of that early on and now it's time for a modest retirement from running Titan of a Job and Rooftop Rumble a thousand times each.

I will use public free roam to steal cars for Simone and steal cars to take to the pay and spray. Apart from that I'll do Lester's distractions and gang attacks. That will take up about half an hour of my gta session with the rest spent doing jobs. I will use free roam to buy things too. I'll spend longer in solo free roam if I have a big bounty on my head.

My stats says that I have been in dm, race or creator 28% of my total playtime. I´m not sure does it count waiting on lobbies or not but I think it doesnt. And I´m sometimes invite only sessions too +time spend in heists. So I estimate that I spend 42% in public lobbies.
