How much time do you spend in public free-roam?

Unless I have some friends invite to a heist I'm in FR doing whatever I feel like. That ranges from driving around checking out the city and hitting jumps and stuff on my bike to straight up being public enemy number 1. I pretty much do everything one can do in FR but gotta say I do love a bit of PvP , maybe too much lol.

I spend probably 80% of my time in public freeroam, not many of my mates are into online gaming so I pretty much just do my own thing, if I'm not racing or wasting time hosting heists with randoms I'm exploring/cruising/hitting jumps/blowing sh1t up and generally going with the flow of the lobby, something always comes up to keep me entertained.

 

I don't need to worry about money so feel no need to grind for cash so why not enjoy the open world and do what the hell you want with all the toys you can buy

Nah, I do get involved in the killing but the vast majority of my time is spent on other stuff. It's a shame that so many people don't know how open this game really is. Take this photo, for example. Spot the bike - no killing took place to get that shot

I wish more people used freeroam this way, a bit of creativity and LS is a blast... While I'll get involved in the odd street war it gets damn boring doing the same thing over and over in the same streets ..

Less than 20% for me. When I do spend time in FreeRoam I'm usually either hosting or joining an event like Busted, Death Maze, Hide & Seek, or countless other events. This weekend we're doing a Demolition Derby for example.

 

Sometimes I'll engage FreeRoam Warriors for about half an hour untill I get bored. Otherwise my friends and I will place bounties on each other and see how long we can hold position.

I avoid that place like the f*cking plague I would say in all my time playing online I have maybe spent a total of 2-4 hours in there and that's from playing on 360 the PS4 so little over two years

starting out i was open lobbies only, but after a year of putting up with this so called "community" i spend more time in solo these days. once done doing things in solo i hit the open lobbies though for FR fun, whether it be open lobby PvP or just messing about with other players to see what kind of fun can be had.

I'll be honest, I really only play in solo mode. I like being able to walk around like in single player and not have to deal with randoms killing me out of the blue or random crashes. I just wish Rockstar added some features to this mode, like animals or more pedestrians, etc.

True; actually, a friend of mine and myself decided to tick the cops off and then hold up in the downtown subway entrance. Was quite a bit of fun, and it attracted several more players who we ended up making friends with.

 

Much of the time, finding a neutral way to create in-game comradery can make all the difference...

 

Back on-topic: Freeroam is great for "excitement" (for lack of a better term), and the full extent of activities; but Invite-Only is indispensable when I just want peace and quiet(!), or want to restock my garage with Sentinels (nothing more annoying than losing a $17,000 Sentinel because of a randumb or griefer). I'm also part of a crew (IMPR) that focuses on helping people with Daily Objectives, so I do both.

I voted 60-80%. I spend most of my gta gaming time in freeroam usually driving around chattihg sh*t to mates. If am on my own am usually on Bati finding jumps and trying to get on roofs. Am on Bati alot, then you get people chasing you so I like teasing them and ride around and around the block until they realise and put stickys down, sometime I lure them into carparks (the one by the last heist is a good one) and place stickys by the entrances. I like meeting randoms, the feeling of 'will they kill' me is great. Sometimes they only want to ride around with me. Have actually met someone recently who showed me new jumps and ways onto roofs. If they kill me or try to kill me then I usually end up turning into a psycho.

How did you do it? Any vids?

It's surprisingly easy - takes about 20 seconds from ground to roof, and is just 2 jumps.

 

I'll get a video of it later and post it in the stunting thread (I'll mention you in the post so you get a notification).
