I'm curious to see how much time the average player spends in public (ie not invite-only or solo) free-roam sessions. If you spend a lot of time in free roam, I'm also curious what you enjoy about it so much.

Probably less then 50 because money is nice and bad sport is bad.

probably less than usual thanks to everyone randomly disconnecting everytime I try to find a job

20-40% Maybe?

Other 60-80% is Invite/Crew/Missions/Notplayingatall

I spend quite a lot of time in free roam, I like to drive around and pick people up and try to show off my driving skills haha. I also like going on a rampage and killing people in ways that pisses them off the most (ex. Going into passive when they get close and then going out when they're not expecting) haha I know it's rude or frowned upon but I have fun with anything that involves trolling.

So I'd say 60-80% of the time.

Is this The Guy?

20-40% sounds about right

It used to be much higher but I been doing mostly missions and heists lately

0% because I'm usually either playing missions or golf (sometimes heists too) when I'm online and I absolutely hate the long loading times that you get in public lobbies.

Playing in freeroam today for about a half hour I spent about $20,000. :(

Not much.

The only time I spend in free-roam is between ending and starting solo missions, or waiting for a while in passive for a good heist invite. Free-roam is a brain-dead sh*thole, pandering to the lowest impulses of the adolescent brain.

I would have thought that by this time in human history, one of the premiere open world game companies of the 21st century would have come up with a better concept for actually interacting in the open world.

But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO..... :p

I play public free roam almost exclusively. I guess I like the variety that you get from playing such an open game with random strangers from round the world.

I never played it for longer than a couple of miniutes untill the other day. Reminded me a lot of GTA 4's free roam and how crazy it is. If it wasn't for the cops (there should be an option for free roam with cops of like on 4) it would be just like the film The Purge!

Nothing more amusing when both of you are coincidentally going to the same clothes store/ amunation. When you park your cars outside it both of you just stop and glare at one another wondering whether the others going to make a move.

By "playing" you mean "killing them over and over," right? :p

There's nothing else to do.

I basically never do solo or invite only. If I'm in Los Santos I'm in public free roam. Otherwise I'm doing Deathmatches, LTS, captures, my off-road and BMX playlists, racing in general, missions, golfing, daily objectives, and attempting heists.

If I get involved in a war, a hour or two. More if crates drop

Not often at all. I don't mind having shoot outs with other players but I can't be bothered with the police interrupting constantly. If I wanted to fight the police I'd do it offline.

Considering the lag... 1-2 minutes for lobby before disconnecting.

Less than 5%, sometimes it's funny to drive around in passive and watch the children play.

98% of the time I am on free roam...

The other 2% I am modding a car or building an outfit in Invite before loading into free roam.

I spend time on public lobbies only because I get kicked them for some reasons. Connection issues, heist host leaving, completed heist...

The times when I'm too lazy to come back on story mode to create another private lobby, I'm disapointed by hackers, people yelling on their mic, annoying kids...

Nah, I do get involved in the killing but the vast majority of my time is spent on other stuff. It's a shame that so many people don't know how open this game really is. Take this photo, for example. Spot the bike - no killing took place to get that shot ;)

I think that's a connection problem, happens to me all the time.

Sometimes in good situations too >: ) (Special Crate Drop)

OT: Pretty much anytime I'm not doing a job I'm on public. Occasionally Single player. I don't have friends with a PS4 :(

Very nice. :^: So, if I had been in a free-roam lobby, trying to get the bike up there to get that shot, I would have been killed by (sequentially): reverse driving Zentorno, sticky bomb thrower, hit-and run Kuruma, RPG clown, twanker, Insurgent dickhead, jet griefer, sniper and 5 more general assholes coming from across the map for a cheap easy kill. Hence, why I don't spend any time in public free-roam. :)

Lol yeah, it can be like that but it isn't always. Besides, if I'm doing something that other people could potentially spoil I just go passive. Me & friends quite often find ourselves stunting and building climbing on our bikes while there's a war going on around us. You just ignore it or move somewhere else and try something different. Alternatively, we kill them until they go away. It depends on our mood.
