Pegassi Osiris: Insurance fee nerfed?

So I had my Osiris destroyed by an opposing player when I wasn't looking. Expecting a 24k insurance fee, I was more than shocked to notice that he only payed about 9 thousand for insurance fees. Well, atleast now I don't have to worry about getting that thing dying on me in a pond. Quite a shame too, as the Osiris' high insurance fee was one of it's selling points for me.

He only had 9k on him.

If they broke, they get out of insurance.

He probabably didn't have enough money to pay the full price.

Oh lovely, luckily I didn't toss it off any bridges out of carelessness yet. So I guess my Osiris is still worth something to me. Yay.

So THAT'S what it was.

Somebody blew up my Osiris and only paid like 800. I was like WTF?

Insurance has always been based on a percentage of the purchase price. Unless that changes, it's not changing for any specific vehicle. Just if you don't have enough to pay it all you don't pay it all.

Yeah it's something that was changed like last year. Where they take whatever u have and call it a day. Before that if they didn't have enuff u got stuck with the bill. This was when punk ass greifers were (and still are) leaving all their $$ on their second toon, that was a problem. Now if it ain't ur fault then u don't get charged, but if the ahole that did it doesn't have the money then the ins just takes what they have and pays the rest.

I think there might be a bug affecting it...

I say that because when they have enough money to pay for it you get a message saying "so and so paid the full amount of (however much money)" and when they don't have enough it says "so and so paid (how ever much money) towards the replacement vehicle. The other day someone blew my T20 up and I got a message saying that he paid the full amount, but it only charged him 6 grand instead of the 27 grand.

I enjoy seeing them unable to pay the entire price if they pay like +$15,000 or something and I know I just cleaned them out :)

Your newest thread is stupidly absurd. There is absolutely no reason to charge people half of a car's value as that takes out such a huge portion of money for everyone and anyone who hasn't glitched is basically getting butt f*cked by your idea.

On the positive side of situations like that where the other player doesn't pay the full amount of the insurance, it means their bank and wallet are now at $0, so they have to go make some money if they want to call for a Pegasus vehicle, and if the mechanic wants his daily wages and the player can't supply, the mechanic 'goes on strike', meaning they have to steal NPC cars to get around, cars without bulletproof tyres or any other upgrades, along with the possibility of getting a bounty on their head.

No, it doesn't sound reasonable at all.

I hope so that will be great

why? too poor to pay the insurance haha

i cant wait for even more expensive cars to get released, those indurance fees are sweet!

insurance fees stop being punishment when one can simply stash the money on the second character, if they added a debt system things would be different, but they wont do such thing this far into the game.

With 5% insurance you could totally ruin a low level's day simply by offering them a drive in your T20 with access set to everyone, head for a body of water at full speed then jump out before the car hits the water, the other player gets the insurance bill because the game put them in the drivers seat.
