Features that were in III and Vice City, but not in San Andreas?

-Bullets were visible when firing a weapon in 3 and VC. You could barely see bullet shells coming out of guns in SA.

Ammu-Nation clerks in VC uses different guns on each shop

Some Ammu-Nation clerks in SA use dual 9mm pistols, some use the Desert Eagle.

After a body despawned in III and VC, a white outline would appear. That is absent in SA, if I remember correctly.

Does a good story count as well?

No that only happened in III not VC.

They both have a city ambiance:

I'm pretty sure GTA SA had ambience too. for example sometimes you would hear random AK-47 shots in the background, could even happen in grove street where nobody has an AK-47.

there was a special kind of ambience during the riot. you could hear people screaming and stuff.

I know, when I mean city ambiance I mean this special sound. As you may have noticed, everywhere in the San Andreas state there's a "wind sound" (something that should be heard in a deserted area or in the top of a mountain) it doesn't make you feel that the city is alive around you (at least for me), sure there's ak-47 shots from time to time but it doesn't add much to the atmosphere as it seems (when there's no pedestrians/car near you) that the entire city is dead. The only moment where it feels alive again for me is during the riots in L.S.

Space Cowboy

In both GTA III and Vice City there are multiple places where you can hear various sounds- such as the music that plays in Salvatore's mansion in III, or the arcade machines in Kaufman cabs asset in Vice City (I believe these sounds are lot less frequent in Vice City; in this aspect III truly stands out). As it was already mentioned, those games really feel more alive than SA.

Rewards being awarded after collecting every 10 packages all the way up to 100 is also something that's missing in SA; in general III and VC are a lot more rewarding.

The epic death animation where they would fall on their knees instead of in SA where it just looks weird.

UptownRider

A store that sells a variety of melee weapons (GTA:VC)

Different Health/Armor HUD. Instead of having a certain number of health,GTA:SA features a health/armor bar.

The ability to keep all weapons at once in III (I mean, there weren't slots like in Vice City, and you could have all the game's weapons at once all the time).

Different player cutscene model in VC (Tommy is more detailed in cutscenes than ingame).

Countryside Rifle in SA.

Also the ability to collect hidden packages is absent in SA. I'm not sure if R* replaced them with horse shoes. But it wasn't intended to be like packages as when you find them you don't get rewarded with cash but instead increases your luck.

? There is 250 collectables in SA and they do the same thing as III and VC, LCS, and VCS......Unlock weapons at the Safehouses. In the case of SA, you get weapons at Ganton Safehouse, Doherty Safehouse, and where the Casino is located in Las Venturas. There is 3 sets of entirely different weapons which spawn at these locations. These are from Spray Tags, Horseshoes, and Snapshots. The Oysters allow you to date any of the 6 girlfriends without having CJ look a certain way.

To be honest thank you for pointing that out. Man I need to play SA again.

No problem. I noticed that with a lot of people. They will say something about the 3D Era, but it's not true usually due to the fact the person making the claim hasn't played it in years. I play III, VC, SA, LCS, VCS, IV, TLaD, TBoGT, CW, and V all at the same time, switching off day by day, week by week, month by month, etc. So everything always remains fresh in my head for ALL 10 GTA's I own. My brain is the GTA Encyclopedia, basically. I don't forget about the Games I love...

Lol, neither did I. The quoting thing is a bit dodgy since the past week or so...

Some stores in the Red Light District can be seen closed during the day and opened during the night (GTA III).

Really? I never noticed this, nice touch. Is this in V or IV too?

Yeah, when you shot someone in the head with a sniper and they fell to their knees and then fell forward. Once however I actually managed to put that animation in SA by modding.
