Features that were in III and Vice City, but not in San Andreas?

Off the top of my head GTA III and VC had rampages whilst SA didn't. VC had assassinations and store robberies that weren't present in SA.

Subway/overhead trains, chunked character/pedestrian models, flying limbs (associated with the element I've mentioned before),

I'm not sure if these really count as they're not in Vice City nor San Andreas but still, it goes by the quota of not being in SA.

There were a buch from what i remember. I start with the simple things.

-The ability to aim first-person with the M4A1 was absent in SA

-When players killed pedestrians the character would look down at the bodies. Not really a feature but Cj doesn't do that.

-When players turned thier camera back the character would look back

-The ability to flip-off pedestrians was absent. (Only happens in 3,VC,LCS,VCS and V)

I know there's more but i to think what else wasn't in SA from previous titles.

Claude and Tommy used to run faster than CJ.

Like sergiu mentioned above the blood and gore was turned down. In SA the only gory thing was to be able to shoot peoples head off. In 3 and Vice city there was massive amounts of blood and gore. In gta 3 it was a cheat code to activate the gore. People bodies would fly if claued had the rocket launcher or if he threw grenades. In VC well it's basically the same.

-Also the ability to collect hidden packages is absent in SA. I'm not sure if R* replaced them with horse shoes. But it wasn't intended to be like packages as when you find them you don't get rewarded with cash but instead increases your luck.

-The features of the rainy weather effects were kinda crappy in 3 and VC. It simply showed rain on the screen. SA actally improved on that.

After a body despawned in III and VC, a white outline would appear. That is absent in SA, if I remember correctly.

Does a good story count as well?

-Also police in VC could throw spikes at the players car to pop thier tires making it difficult to drive. It would've been cool if that feature returned in SA. It was actually supposed to come back but it was cut after the final release of SA. I know it sucked when your 4 tires poped out when driving over that thing on accident. But it gave realism to the game.

? There is 250 collectables in SA and they do the same thing as III and VC, LCS, and VCS......Unlock weapons at the Safehouses. In the case of SA, you get weapons at Ganton Safehouse, Doherty Safehouse, and where the Casino is located in Las Venturas. There is 3 sets of entirely different weapons which spawn at these locations. These are from Spray Tags, Horseshoes, and Snapshots. The Oysters allow you to date any of the 6 girlfriends without having CJ look a certain way.

In Vice City if you got on a sidewalk while in a car its wheels would make a thump noise.

3 and VC if you fired weapons in an alley the gunshots would echo.

SA had rampages in local co-op though.

In GTA 3 you could shoot off someones arm or leg (it was easiest to do with M16,but I´ve even seen a cop do it with a pistol),in GTA SA you could only shoot off people´s heads.

They both have a city ambiance:

They have the same fighting techniques (but with different animations).

You can have on PC, the ability to play in Classic and Standard control.

There's dismemberment in GTA III.

Peds react the same way when shot in the head, stomach, leg, shoulder with a sniper rifle.

Some stores in the Red Light District can be seen closed during the day and opened during the night (GTA III).

Some missions can disappear forever by completing other bosses missions (like Kenji's missions or Luigi's missions in GTA III).

You can buy melee weapons in dedicated stores in Vice City.

You're able to change you character skin by adding new ones in a folder made for it.

I'm not sure about this one but the water condition change when it's raining (bigger wave) in GTA III.

-Vehicle tailights lack reverse indicators in SA

-The in-vehicle camera rotation is not locked in place like it is in III/VC

-The ability to free-look in first person is not present in SA. Instead the camera rotates around the player

They both have a city ambiance:

I'm pretty sure GTA SA had ambience too. for example sometimes you would hear random AK-47 shots in the background, could even happen in grove street where nobody has an AK-47.

there was a special kind of ambience during the riot. you could hear people screaming and stuff.

^Indeed, in LS you can hear AK shots everytime. Using headphones help noticing that.

In III and VC every car can lose their front wings. In SA only the front lights broke, and the wing remains.

Did you see the frightened ones? Did you hear the falling bombs? Did you ever wonder...

From III:

- Toyz RC missions

- dismemberment (arms and legs) in the PC version (PS2 cheat)

From VC:

- Pizza boy missions

- Top Fun missions

- Assassination missions

- store robberies

- good citizen bonus when helping the cops catch criminals

- cops using spikes

- Bus driver mini job

- hardware shops

- mall

From both:

- rampages

- adrenaline pills

That's all I can think of right now.

That's what I meant.

Also, taxis in III/VC have two kinds of roof signs whereas SA has only one.

SA did have rampages, but only on PS2 and Xbox and it requires 2 players.

3 VC had the ability to go into a first person view on foot and any weapon in the assualt rifle slot on PS2 and Original Xbox.

EDIT: I saw B Dawg and thehambone post.

VC had a Spanish radio station while SA didn't

A good protagonist.

I've never had a problem with CJ as a protagonist. Sure he complains a lot, but he had to do some crazy sh*t, ya know?

To be honest thank you for pointing that out. Man I need to play SA again.
