JaegerPilot1
I have a problem. My mic does not work properly when I am not on the XBox Party Chat. When I am in the chat it works fine, but in a regular public lobby it is messing up. I have my mic on mute and my mouth constantly is moving because noises are coming out of my headset. Do I have a setting wrong?

Chloroform
Maybe its the headset? Do you have a friend with one that you can try? Is this the "stock" 360 one? If you're muted and your mouth is still moving, that's odd. I don't think any setting can correct that.

I don't have a friend local that I can try one off of, I may just have to go to the store and buy a new one tomorrow.

While muted its still getting feedback, something is f*cked some where. I hope that's the problem, I'm also wondering if it could be the headphone port? You have a second controller to test that out? Just to make sure of course.
JaegerPilot1
I only have the one controller. I bought the 360 pre-owned from GameStop. I am just going to replace the headset because I have a hard time hearing my friend and I need one to go louder, so I am hoping that will fix the problem. Mottershead
I am on PS4 and my mic stopped working properly, too. When I plugged it into the controller people could hear me, but to hear them respond I had to take out the jack from the controller. I bought a new headset and the problem continued. I tried using a different controller and it worked. I then tried it back on the original controller, and everything is okay again. If you can get your hand on another controller it may well fix your problem. Edited July 13, 2015 by Mottershead
JaegerPilot1
Just bought a new, nicer headset and the problem is still going on. It started after did party chat for the first time.
JaegerPilot1
I finally got it. It is not the controller or the headset, it is me. I am leaving party chat sometimes the wrong way. So when it does that I just start party chat up again and leave it the right way.
