Do Our Characters AGE?

Okay. So I know this sounds stupid.

But I haven't seen anything on this before.

But hear me out. It's been over a year since I've made both my GTA Online characters and I put in a ticket to Rockstar to let me change the way my second character looks.

She was looking a little beat up and I wanted to pretty her up a bit. Anyway R* allowed me to change her a second time.

When I looked at her set up I noticed her age was 22. Now I am 99.9% sure I made her 21 years old.

It was odd, but I didn't think anything of it.

UNTIL, I switched to my first character, and it gave me the option to change his appearance for a second time as well. I guess if they let you change one character another time they have to let you change both because, I don't know I guess that's how it works.

Anyways I didn't want to change anything on him but I decided to look at how I made him over a year ago.

Surprisingly his age was 22 too!

Now I am 100% sure I made him 21 years old!

So that got me thinking, do our characters age?

If so that's pretty cool, if not, I am just crazy and I for some reason made my characters 22 instead of 21.

Thoughts?

I want my character to stay 22 forever, she is a woman and cares more about how young she is.

Dr Labuschagne

its promising. Maybe with every new realised GTA online they age to how long that GTA has been made. (I.e the next GTA will be released in 5-6 years time, you can be a returning character however, you are 5-6 years old and you have lost it all

After using your character in a couple of GTA onlines, there will be a limit. (5 games to 5 years a piece/5x5= 25) years added to their age. Now you have the option of creating a new character from your old one... Their offspring.

OT:

There was a topic ages ago about characters looking saggier/older on next-gen (now current-gen). Can't be bothered looking for the thread so my word is pretty much mute.

My character is set the the oldest age (I think it's 40). So will I age above 50? When will I be a gilf? Why isn't there other milfs like me? Why is everyone so damn young and making these bad life choices by robbing stores?

Seems like only the body ages like instantly as soon as you get to a lobby except for the face they fixed that :(

Seems a bit serious for this kind of game - more along the lines of Massive Chalice than GTAO :) I wish i'd paid more attention when creating my character because can't remember how old I made her to check whether it has changed for me since 2013... sorry OP!

It's an interesting idea but i'd say that the majority of players wouldn't be on board with the idea if it is true - if you created the character, you should retain control of their appearance.

Would you mind posting a screenshot from the creator showing where age is displayed. Rockstar allowed me to change my appearance today and I swear I have gone through every menu at least a dozen times and I cannot find age listed anywhere in any of the creator menus or even on the character selection mugshot/lineup screen.

Hope not, mine would be in her 60s-80s by now because she's existed for 46 game years and been active in that time for 11 game years,

Yeah, and what about character appearance deformation? My character is exposed to high unhealthy levels of stress and fatigue. I want to see the bags under her eyes. The limps from getting hit by cars. The burns from getting caught in explosions. The bunions from running in uncomfortable shoes.

All of that + wrinkles.

No. Your character will stay a 20-something clone forever unless you do the glitch to change appearance

There have been glitches on NG that caused characters to suddenly change appearance though (its never happened to me  )

I think they shouldn´t age. It´s been said that the story of GTA Online takes place a few months before the story of GTA 5 singleplayer,so it shouldn´t be canon when was the character created or how many days have passed in game.

It sounds cool. But it would be impossible to let them age. If they would age with the in game time they would be dead already(this is odd cause they can simply respawn :p).

If they would age with the real time they have long ass years in game hahaha

Ok, so where do you see the exact age of your character like you claim to be able too. You say 22 yo, when you set it to 21. Please post a screenshot of where you can see the exact age of your char in numbers.

According to Rockstar Support OP's backstory is likely fiction.

I had to laugh, the "other option" support unlocked to help me with the issue of my age and appearance changing from mid twenties to geriatric... the ability to change GENDER

So weird because I just had this thought and here the thread is!

I was looking at my dudes hands driving first person and they look all weathered like he has to do the washing up every night.

I was wondering as he was last gen perhaps they aged him a bit signifying GTAOs growth to new gen?

Same with my chick character her skin ain't creamy smooth anymore!

Yes, it was an option the very first time you create your avatar. It still is. At no point AFTER the original creation date even when returning to the character creator is your age displayed anywhere nor is it able to be changed.

Anyway, I pre-ordered a 1TB PS4 today and waiting for delivery as well as buying GTA V again. Hopefully when I change to next gen my character will still have that Taylor Swift look, otherwise there will be bad blood between me and R*.

Yes.

I noticed just lately that my character gets up very early in the morning, walking to the garage wearing nothing but underpants and slippers and then just stands there, wondering what he wanted to do in the first place. Sometimes he orders bullshark testosterone from Brucie, not only because of undoubtedly constituting mood swings but more so to hear a voice that reminds him of the golden past, where he used to cruise around Liberty City in his good old Uranus. He also visits the local market, but refuses to buy anything else than sweets, thus causing his blood sugar levels to rise constantly. Right now he's standing at the windows of his apartment, looking through the spyglass, silently complaining about everyone complaining.

Maybe he will buy himself a boat. He'll sail out, get drunk, stare into the ocean that is as empty as his fireworks launcher and take the easy way out, just to see what it feels like.

But in the end he steps back from the spyglass, downs one, sits back on his couch and waits for race class balancing, a map expansion or someone to ring at his door. But noone ever rings.

No I did not play gtav on old gen, never owned a ps3.

And as I remember from char creation there was only an age slider, but it didn't say age in numbers.
