PS4 matchmaking completely broken?

It has more to do with your location, your internet, and mostly, the game modes you are playing.

Matchmaking is fine, it's probably your router. R* games brought us a good multiplayer and you're saying matchmaking is messed up?

LOL so in other words it is broken. To test it, I joined a crew with 1 million+ members and do not receive a single invite from any of them for 5-10 minutes at a time. With that many crewmates, my phone should be blowing up non-stop.

 

As for my Location, east coast USA, broadband internet, NAT Type 2, hardwired/LAN connection, and not playing any rare game modes.....so yeah you have zero idea what you are talking about.

I tried that once OP with the Los Santos Bangers, 98% of the people rejected my invites, and you were lucky to have 5 people join. Mind you this a DM lobby which should've filled up with no issues. Matchmaking has it's days one week it seems to work fine next 2 weeks it's in shambles. One thing I'm never short of is random invites to the Prison Break Heist lol. I could get an easy 50 of those in a 30 minute period.

I get it occasionally on PS4 as well. As daft as it sounds...

 

 

 

It actually works for me, every time. Fully power down the PS4 and then start everything up again. I'm not promising anything but it's worth a punt.

I've been in lobbies with 25 people in free aim....although it does not work if you leave the game running in rest mode.

to be fair, i think it's psn/xbl problem, the connection issues i mean. because i've never had player no longer in session bs or tutorial glitches on pc, except that thing when everybody leaves the session.

Don't worry OP, it's not just you. The matchmaking system in this game is sh*t. Total and complete sh*t. Like, Jurassic Park Triceratops huge pile of sh*t. I usually fall asleep before I can find a proper match in any category these days, and if I do, it's some 10000xRP bullsh*t.

 

Say what you will about COD, but at least you can find a match and get started playing in ~5 minutes.

 

 

My advice is to have a movie playing or something in the background. hopefully within 2 hours you can find something.

f*ck yeah! "Steal plane from vagos..." Get f*cked.

Not mention humane labs heist invites 50-500 a minute for; "STEAL A EMP DEVICE....reject" or "DELIVER THE INSURGENT, deliver a kill self you f*cker" - how many times I decline they still mass-spam and I got duration times the longest as can be which does f*cking nothing.

 

I want a way to remove Madrazo game mode invites I'm a c*nt hair away from losing it at this game because of that pinche idiota!

I have the exact same situation and recieve plenty of invites. Plenty.

 

Just because you have broadband internet doesnt mean you have good internet btw.

 

And yes, it does have to do with what you are playing. Start up a race on Ring of Fire. Get maybe one or two people. Start up a race on The Commute, get a full lobby. People only play certain things.

I constantly end up joining players from Asia. Sometimes they can tell me where they are and i'm always amazed, mostly that I don't end up in more Eastern NA servers since there are plenty of those and the connection is really good.

 

Then I try to play with my best friends that live 10 minutes away and we can't even join the same server even if we try for hours. Only in GTA.

 

It's definitely not a problem on our end. I've tried just about everything over the years and nothing seems to improve our connection on GTAO, and GTAIV too.

I am using google DNS servers (8.8.8.8 and 4.4.4.4), which I forgot to mention earlier, this does make a difference with some ISP's. There really is no simple way to know if your ISP's DNS servers suck or not unless you have some knowledge in networking, but google's are guaranteed excellent so there is no reason not to use them.

 

I do not think it is PSN caused, and here is why....

I just switched from PS3 barely two weeks ago and just by using AUTO-INVITE on PS3 I was filling rooms regularly with 8 to 16 almost 75%-80% of the time, and quickly cleared 4 or 6 likely 90% of the time in the first minute or two.

I might have to wait 5 minutes max to fill 12-16 but it was night and day difference between PS3 and PS4. In any of those full PS3 rooms only 3 or 4 might be friends-list players, tops. I also would sometimes get 5 or 6 ON CALL players joined too (or even more if half of them didnt lose connection).

 

But the very next day on PS4 I rarely see ON CALL joins, I have never filled a DM or Race room with more than 10 just using AUTO-INVITE (and only got 10 in a DM ONCE and havent been close to that since).

In fact I am timing out of rooms from sitting idle in lobbies for too long, that didn't happen once on PS3.
