Why do people fire homing rockets at me when I try to destroy tanks?

they don't know your intentions and you could easily kill them all.

you just replaced an easily avoided tank with a jet.

although why people bother with hl lock-in is beyond me.

The HL can never hit the Hydra so not like they a threat to u anyway. Normally when I jump in my Hydra its on the sole understanding that every blip I now encounter throughout LS is a threat and will be dealt with accordingly. I mean I never spent 3m on a jet to be picky with who I do and don't kill lol.

No trust in the GTA world, that's why. Make it known that you're not going to kill anyone but the tanks and you should be good. No communication? Maybe that's why.

Today I was in a public lobby with two tank trolls. The tanks were going around killing everyone. I figured that I would be doing a good deed by getting rid of the tanks with my Hydra because let's face it, people hate getting killed over and over again by tanks. After all, isn't that why the tank got nerfed in the first place?

 

However, when I approach the area where the tanks are, people start aiming their homing launchers at me.

 

Now why would they be trying to take me out instead of the tanks? Aren't I doing them a favor by getting rid of the tanks? Is it because the jet is a bigger threat than the tank?

 

Also, out of all the weapons in their arsenal, why the homing launcher? Don't they know that each rocket is expensive, and that the homing launcher can't home for sh*t?

 

Because, simply put, any and all aircraft, usually ones with weapons are regarded as threats whether they attack or not. Or you just have people who just shoot aircraft down.

Tanks are only dangerous if you're too stupid or slow to get away from them OR if you happen to keep spawning in front of them.

Anything that is airborne and armed with exploding machine gun rounds or missiles can cover much more ground in much less time and is automatically more dangerous.

 

Seriously, get into an alleyway and run away or get into ANY car around the corner and drive away from the guy in the Rhino. He can't do sh*t.

Buzzards, Hydra's, Lazers and even Savages are generally bigger threats.

 

You could have the best intentions and try to be a protector of the little people, but fact is that most players in armed aircraft are just looking for easy kills. People know this, so when they get a chance to take you out from the ground, they'll take it. You can't blame them for trying if they don't know you. And even if you talk to them before you get close, they still might not trust you.

My favorite free roam past time is to crack down on jet griefers like you with my own Hydra, closely followed by the aforementioned tank busting duty.

How about you try doing it differently. Kill everyone nearby so noone can shoot you down with the launcher. THEN take out the tank. And then fly away.

Little to no interference, and you've kept someone from killing a few players over and over again.

Sounds good bro I prefer dog fights anyway always fun. I have no problem with HL or players wanting to play hero because it's just more targets for me lol. I just can't seem to wash the years of programming the FPS games have installed into me, that being everything is hostile unless friendly (friends).

 

So far though everyone that has tried to get into a jet too has came off second best against me although u could be the exception , If u on PS4 we could always find out bud?

How do they know you won't kill them and isn't homing launcher a rare item like level 200 unlock and very hard to use. Why do they people try to increase their shooting with minigun, rpg etc. When there is the mighty low level saviour homing launcher.
