With the recent updates like Hiests or the ill-gotten gains, why didn't they do this?

Some people really need the money man. $10,000,000 for the gold plane? what a scam to spend on those sharkcards.

when they did this I'm pretty sure it was testing the waters for double bonus weekends and seeing how the servers hold up. look how short it was.

Payouts were pretty crappy back then.

 

Now, we can earn $12 million from heist challenges, earn about $100K per hour of contact missions and earn about $400K per hour and a half from just doing Pacific Standard. It's not that hard to earn money now compared to when the High Life Update was introduced. Plus, they've added double $ reward for racing for a couple days. 1st place in a 10 minute race netted about $30K++. Not too shabby.

Those were good times, where you can make the double money on pretty much anything. Now, it's usually just on their playlists or regular jobs, not missions.

I make 260k a race playlist of 10-16 races. Git gud m8

You also automatically bet $1,000 for free on every race.....so big money in races atm.
