Rooftop F*ckery...

Good ol days of rooftop rumble and coveted playlists are long gone...

Those days were terrible. The game is 100x better now that it's not a grindfest of two jobs. Even the people that grind Pac Standard all day, at least there are half a dozen missions there including the setups, and a few of them are more fun and interesting than Rooftop Rumble ever was.

Also, OP - the payout of this mission, or any other, hasn't changed since last summer. Ever since they implemented the time-based system a year ago it's been capped once you hit the 15 minute mark. People dicking around at the end were always behaving counter-productively anyway because the optimal time to finish a job is 4-6 minutes - that earns you the best payout on a per-minute basis, and then you can just move on to the next mission.

they nerfed it like 3 times within a couple of months, a year ago, to the point where that mission is useless and no one plays it anymore. I used to get 800 invites to that one mission a day and I have not gotten a single invite to it in months.

Nothing about RR was ever "nerfed." They BUFFED the enemy difficulty, and re-arranged it so there were more enemies to kill and the car with the briefcase spawned outside the garage to make you chase after it. All that was intended to make the mission harder to correspond to its ridiculously high payout... which didn't work, people still kept grinding it and finding ways to blast through it as fast as possible. What hurt its circulation was the time-based payout being implemented on all missions, and that was what happened about a year ago. And good day to you, Rooftop Rumble - you're a crap mission and I don't miss you at all.

Gettin real sick of peoples sh*t...

I dont have anything against the mission personally, it seems R* has finally nerfed the damage and accuracy of the enemies, and they also made it less lucrative to grind over and over, capping the payout at a certain level to discourage people from collecting the objective, then proceeding to wait 10 minutes at madrazos house before delivering the package - yet this f*ckery still continues to this very day...

Almost every time i play that mission with randoms, the person who gets the package first gets ran over by some dickhead in their armored kuruma, said dickhead proceeds to collect the package, speed off to the delivery point, and just waits...what do people not realize that doing more missions equals more money overall?

The simplest solution here would be the addition of say, a 5 minute timer once the package is collected, to minimize the f*ckery that currently runs rampant in this mission.

The longer the mission, the more money you get. Whether you you decide to do 2 missions quickly, or 1 mission and wait, you'll end up with just about the same amount of money in the end.

I clearly remember RR having a fixed payout of 14k no matter how fast you complete the mission and holding the R2 button to automatically restart it. In the mission, you simply drive and park behind the top right corner of the garage and the proffesionals will not be alerted. From there you spray your AR, staying within the corner and it is possible to kill the professionals without getting hit. (This tactic still works on the Ps3) When the document is dropped you simply ram the car to the wall, get it and dash to madraZo. All under 5 minutes sometimes SOLO. Then hit the R2 button after.

As for Coveted playlist, which I created, you snipe 6 main targets, ignore the rest and grab the container with the cargobob. Lesters was closer back then, and you just had to fly over the windmills. Easiest $15k and also R2 restart when quickly pressed. This is has been severely nerfed.

It's now a race to see who gets to the briefcase first. They would run everyone else over if they have to. Oh and btw what happened to Coveted?

Better solution: Once the briefcase is collected anyone should be able to walk into the marker and complete the mission. Look at Los Santos Connection for example.

Better question; what happened to Chemical Extraction? That was a fun mission to do, had a good effort to payout ratio.

It was fun, so Rockstar simply took it down.

Some missions are extremely rare to come by now. I'm pretty sure the fella is still hanging in there in the job list.

I have yet to have Lester offer it, I call him as often as is possible. Its always Stocks and Scares, Docks to Stock or Bust Out.

Thatd work too, similar to LS Connection, doesnt matter who gets the coke anyone can finish the mission.

Might be a problem though.

You see, the reason why LS Connection can be completed that way is because you don't have to collect the coke. You can just blow it up and the mission will just direct you to Madrazo's house because it isn't actually a delivery.

Putting LS Connection's system on Rooftop just returns things to when they were started, where people just blow up the documents to get it done faster. Of course, the reward isn't fixed these days so this is not going to be as much of a problem as it was, but still.

100% false my good chum.

Most of my time playing GTA is spent doing missions, in the time it takes to do a mission like RR with f*ckery as a factor, i could have finished 2 other missions, earning 20k more in the same time span. Ive seen RR missions go on for as long as 30 minutes, in that time i could have easily made 50k, instead i only made 18k.

More missions = more money

Id rather do more missions, have more fun, than try to get an extra 5k from a mission.

I do believe that is either a bug, or something intentional on R*s part, because damn near every time people play LSC, someone gets a helicopter or hydra, and that someone is usually deficient of brain cells, and always blows up the package because they saw a red square and that must mean they have to fire their rockets.

I remember when blowing up the coke failed the mission, and thats how it should be.

Your logic here fails, there are still missions where blowing up the objective fails the mission, all it would take would be for R* to make it so blowing up the documents of RR still fails the mission, and what they need to do now is fix LSC, because that is total bullsh*t that blowing up the package has zero consequence now.

Better solution. Get rid of shark cards, take away mission timers, and let players enjoy the game the way they f*cking want to. Novel idea right?

Is this not still accurate? If not I want to see a source that explains the current system because I'm pretty sure rank has nothing to do with it (I honestly don't know, I haven't kept up with the tweaks each update brings)

That would be nice, but itll never happen in this age of microtransactions. The days of IV are long gone.

Id like to see V have an online option similar to IV's where you can smash through the city, wreaking havoc across every block, down every street and alleyway with 0 consequence, not having to worry about money, or buying ammo and armor, just picking it up as you go, losing it when you die, being able to choose whether the lobby has robocops or not...

A man can dream, cant he?

I think rr is fun but none of the missions are the fast cash grabs they once were. I like it more as I can just enjoy the game now without worrying about the fact every mission has to be rr or people quit out and sh*t. It got really old to me having people play the same 4 missions and repeating them every 2 minutes while almost no others were ever worthwhile.

The best RR was for me was the double pay weekend in May 2014. RR was $18,500 X 2 for $37,000 every time it was completed regardless of mission time. 10- 15 per hour = big easy money that weekend. All store robberies paid $4,000 and all jobs were double pay not just missions.

The high paying jobs were grinded because of the high cost of stuff and that many jobs paid very low amounts and thus not done often regardless of any fun factor. Missions like Atificial Scarcity, Hard Labor, Crime Scenester, and Time To Getaway while fun had original pay of only $5,500 solo on hard.

Mission pay however should be a flat rate regardless of time or at least higher pay for less time instead of less money. The reward for doing better is getting less pay????

So why not get it done, and move on to more lucrative missions to crusie through.

In the end, it makes no sense and generally pisses off people for no value...other than to say you were in control of their game. Sad to say, some people get wood off that sh*t.

Not really. If you do RR and wait, you get around 22-24k. Of course the mission you do determines how much, but you really won't make much more.

You don't even need to collect the coke in LS Connection anymore, just blow it up and Madrazo's happy.

Next time some numpty sits there with the briefcase and you can't persuade them to deliver it, call for your tank and drive it back and try to squash them. You can't kill or destroy someone when they're in a vehicle with bullets/explosives, but a tank can crush and explode someone in a vehicle in a mission :)

If you don't want to worry about people screwing the mission, do it solo or with friends.

RR was so abused and so the people that still think they need to grind it are going to get people who will screw it up. There is no point in waiting for a few more $ during the mission and so the first reaction is just to screw around.

Better question; what happened to Chemical Extraction? That was a fun mission to do, had a good effort to payout ratio.

That's the Humane raid and steal a van, right?

If yes, then seriously, lots of people can't do that sh*t. Everyone wants to be rambo and nobody brings a car to protect the hacker while he does his job. I used to snipe from a hill and people were dead in no time. I ended up going down alone and succeeded the mission.

The mission alone is great, the payout's worth it, but the players are frustrating...

Just as a sanity check, I did RR lat night to see what people are talking about, and it is the same as it has been. Solo,on hard, wait 15 minutes before triggering the end at Madrazo's, and you get about $22,400 and over 4100 RP. Still a great mission.

Takes about 60 seconds to clear the garage and the first drive-up enemy car, then hop in your car and ignore the two enemy vehicles that come later, just go around the block and chase the document guy, shoot him in the head with submachine gun, or flip his car against the bridge railing and leisurely shoot him, do the document drive to Madrazo's in maybe 90 to 120 seconds. Then you can go back to websurfing or painting your toenails or whatever until the 15 minute mark, then drive into Madrazo's and profit. :^:

Potshot never shows up, neither does Chopper Tail or Coveted.

Niko the awesome

I think they removed chemical extraction because of the of the, Humane Labs Heist. In the mission you had to go in hack the computer to open the garage door, get the van and bring the van to the drop off point. In the heist tou have all that build up to the heist.
