I never noticed these faults until you pointed them out, OP, but what what you're saying is definitely a concern. Idk, to me it seems the vehicle design in GTA V in general has gotten lazy.

I don't claim to know a whole lot about jets IRL, but wasn't the Harrier the first one? It didn't have a rear engine. I couldn't find any that do except the ones who have a rear engine that tilts down (which OP addressed)
