lokelyokel
I installed the drivers, and all lag on my system is still present. Some stuttering was fixed, but when I use the mini gun in particular, my fps tanks to unreasonable levels. I'm gonna restart my pc and see if it fixes GTX 960 2GB Intel Core i7 4790 Windows 8.1 64 Bit Update: after a system restart my fps has increases in significant areas, but i still lag mainly with the mini gun and sometimes in grasslands. I've changed my settings from Tweaked Very High, to High, to Normal and mini gun lag is always present. RedIndianRobin
I can confirm that the stutters and low frame rate issues have been reduced a lot after this hotfix upgrade. However, texture pop-ins has increased and is very annoying.

Trash_Ok
The lag from shooting a minigun and basicaly shootouts in general is probably caused by Rockstar messing up particles in some way with the update. I also get those sometimes, I don't have a minigun so can't say anything about that. Ammunation lag and driving stutter has been fixed for me as I said, been playing since yesterday and it really reduced the issues by like 90%. Actually, a lot of people have been saying that the lag is caused by a new script protection system R* have implemented to stop hackers getting at the game natives- only problem is, it's so resource intensive that the game is basically unplayable in some situations. Here's hoping they backtrack and sort this ridiculous mess out.

Because I love playing this game, and these FPS issues are ruining my experience faster the more I lag.

Here's hoping they backtrack and sort this ridiculous mess out. Test both with and without script mods or other mods, for me, it is certainly not this system and if it is...it's crippling the game like some form of horrible DRM. The silly thing is...R* said after the first patch they would not block or make it hard for single player mods and offline stuff...yet with every damn patch it's gotten slightly worse and finally now, it feels like the engine has just "collapsed" under the strain of all the BS. However, you are right in which the way it is effecting big mods like the police mods with all this "Junk" code that R* has slotted in to make it like jumping through loop holes, hinder progress and file access development significantly. This is the reddit thread on the issue:https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/3cz23y/rockstar_being_rockstar_adds_junk_code_used_to/ It's a deliberate thing by R* because they are not sensible enough to create MP/SP seperate .exes and thus have decided to cripple everyone, completely, with these ludicrous CPU bottlenecks and memory and code being live decrypted with ofc is effecting everyone in a large way, and sucks ass. Depressing really. I really really wish they just focused more on Story Mode and Single Player rather than the Online which is bullcrap IMO. customkingpimp
Lower framerates, get a 2nd GPU . its not an issue with the vid cards not being able to handle it you retard. Its an issue that came with the IGG update. Guys try setting the particles on Normal We should not have to set the games settings lower than what they were at before because rockstar messed something up. EvilDog77
Just fresh-installed and tested GTA V on a PC with a Phenom II X6 1100T (3.3Ghz) and an XFX HD 6870 1Gb and it runs pretty well on low settings with the latest AMD drivers (15.7) with no stuttering at all. A fresh install might be a good thing to try if you've backed up your install files prior to the patch.
strigoi1958
I just set population amount to 0 and the same with variety of population 0... I have a gtx 970 Msi and I run the whole game on the lowest possible settings, using about 25% of GPU memory... I don't know what FPS I get because I run every game with vsync on and I rarely check... it has never seemed important to me as long as I can play I'm happy... It has cleared up most of the stutter except when there is a group of us fighting the police at 5 star level or ammunation which now even slows the music even when buying ammo now... not just armour.. but I can live with that. Castiel23
The solution does not eliminate the problem. Maybe there is some better performance, but still it isn't the way it should be. Before update everything was ok (constantly 60 fps, no drops, no lags, no stuttering). Now this nightmare happens. Buying armor - cant believe that they dont have proper quality control. southparkmayor
To create a commandline.txt. go to the main root of GTA V. Right click. New>document. copy and paste -FrameQueueLimit 0 or -FrameQueueLimit 1 to commandline.txt And then save. Or if you use steam add it to the target as this vid shows.
