Like PulpFiction has said, the decisions you make in-game can really weigh down on your own conscience if you mess it up, much like it would do for Niko himself... Even after all this time and how many times I've played through GTA IV's story I still get a sense of guilt making a decision that's the wrong one despite that I've done every single choice possible. And stuff. The final choice really got me thinking. But he turned out to be a disrespectful little asshole to Niko. Also, I do agree that in-game choices can not only affect Niko, but also can affect us ourselves, that's why I sometimes regret some of my decisions and not only can affect myself, but through Niko's journey finding the American dream as well. You never get that same feeling of immersion with V's story. There's a couple of reasons why that would be the case, in my opinion. 1. Due to the shorter Story, there isn't much room for Character Development. 2. The Switching Mechanism yanks you away from the Characters, in the process ruining the Immersion.
