Driving away in deathmatches

Man, a real shame. I've gotten into some really tight deathmatches lately, really close. The other team goes up by 3 and they pile in a car and just drive off, 5 minutes to go.

I send mercs, but what's the point? They head to the mountains.

A real shame. This has been happening multiple times, and during really close dms. Those are the best kind! And then they go and spoil it at the end.

Tell me you guys don't do this... Say it ain't so!

You can't go too far can you?

I've never, ever seen this happen. I didn't know it was possible, actually. I assumed if you got too far away it'd kick you out or kill you.

It doesn't do anything, you can even drive to the other side of the map, in 1 on 1 death matches you forfeit if you drive too far away but not in regular death matches, it's incredibly frustrating.

That's what I was thinking. I'm pretty sure a message pops up that you're going too far from the deathmatch.

Just tested this with a friend on PS3. It really doesn't.

I drive a good distance from designated dm areas and snipe people from where they aren't looking because it's a little out there. Their tears are delicious.

It's a crying shame that R* decides to add a 'playable area' boundary which eliminates the possibility of escape in Last Team Standing, yet people are still able to run beyond to hills to escape a deathmatch. I feel the sadness too OP.

the worst is when it's a user created deathmatch and they hide a Jet somewhere far off from the fight area I hate that sometimes

This is one of the reasons I haven't played a single deathmatch, and because people are such poor sports.

Crying Reacher

Brag Post:

Around the time of this games release I was once put up against a clan. At the start everyone on my team left but me. The DM was set at the motel. I managed to play it smart and got a good headstart (I was like 7 kills 2 deaths).

Then I just snuck away, I grabbed a passing car and drove off. I then setup a sniping position at the outskirt of the motel and waited. Eventually they would get tired of searching for me and leave the motel, where I would pick them off. It got pretty damn cool, it was like Wolf Creek. I could drive off to some place miles away and when I was comfortable I would slowly approach the motel and pick the off from afar, they had no idea where to look.

That sounds a bit extreme, this kind of behavior rarely happens. You can always turn off traffic if you host your own.

I do that when I'm outnumbered(3 v 1) and winning. It's so funny when they use reveal players and here I am, 3 miles from the DM zone.

Me and my crew have done it when we're doing tdms and the assholes on the other team spam rockets amd throw c4. If someone's gonna be cheap we'll take the lead and play cheap ourselves

Nope, you can go anywhere. They should have an out of bounds.

This has got to be one of the most bitchiest bitch moves ever… probably on par with those who hang around you in passive, then pop out and kill you, then run away and go back to passive…

Agreed. But I find it so.... Unsatisfying. Like, yeah, you won, but... Really didn't play in the spirit of the game. All's fair if it can be done, I guess.

Its not about tears... You are just being annoying and not playing the game the way its meant to be played. So for the most part, you are being annoying and enjoying the fact that players are finding you annoying.

If everyone did what you did... the entire point of the death match is pointless.

Its not like what you are doing is smart... anyone can do it. They just don't for a reason.

I can only imagine you join races and start driving backwards... because you love their 'tears'... Meanwhile the race..or death match will keep going on despite what every the f*ck you think you're doing.

I do it every time, run as hell. I only start/join this DM for my daily objectives, I hate DM but R* force me to do them. Same for LTS, Capture.

^This is why game devs need to treat their games like day care centers....for children.

They need to child proof EVERYTHING..

There can be a huge play area... but without a fence. The kiddies are out in the middle of the street playing traffic instead.

Sadly... R* did this with most PVP game modes.. and forgot to do it to one. And without a fence.. well. I think you pointed out what happens.

I ran once. Was in a team DM where all my teammates quit and I was left alone against three others. Managed to do really well against them and at one point was in the lead. Eventually they got smart and started trashing me. I had no chance so I just ran around until the clock ran out. It wasn't much fun. I like a challenge but 3 against 1 was too tough to enjoy.

Why didn't they just call Lester to reveal players?

I got tired of people doing this so when I create deathmatches I shut all traffic off, same when I'm host. It's a pretty easy, simple fix.

I did it multiple times. That's called tactic.

OH thanks, I wasn't aware what it was called. Now I'm totally cool with it! Especially now that I know what it's called! Phew.

for dm and tdm you don't have to actually play them to complete your daily obj.

just join them and wait for the "betting screen" where you can buy armor after host started the dm and then just leave (by clicking on circle on ps).

this doesn't work for captures though.

I must admit that I've used this tactic on occasion, but 99% of the time it's only when I need one for my daily objectives and don't have the time/don't feel like doing a DM (though knowing now that you can back out once you pass the lobby screen and have it count will eliminate the need to do so).

I had one last week where I had to do a team deathmatch and also kill a revealed player. I ended up getting into a 2 on 2 at the Rockstar created one by the strip club (name escapes me at the moment). I ended up hanging back towards the street. My partner killed both players, they spawned by the street, I took cover and autoshottied one for my revealed player kill, then hopped in a car and took off.

We actually won. Good partner, that dude.

Inb4 bitch and moan thread

No, this one's a bit different and rarely discussed (and I'm usually quick on the B&M Hammer).

Okay, that part made me legit laugh :)
