We do, the people who have fun regardless of the community crap.

Lol.

Have fun folks.

Well, *we* can't have fun thanks to cheaters and modders.

Lol.

Have a sh*tty fun, folks.

People still care about this?

Lol.

Have fun folks.

Pretty much one of the types of players I referred to in my earlier post here.

This is why it probably won't get better.

What type is that?

I don't mod or cheat. Or "hack". Lol.

Maybe you are too focused on this game. I'm the type of player that will be happy to just play.

Maybe you can't read. Or you're too lazy to read a post before making dumb assumptions and replying to people you think said something bad about you. Because going back a page and reading an earlier post is probably too difficult for you, I'll help you out.

I wasn't saying anything bad about you or people like you. I was saying that because not everyone can be bothered making a big deal out of these things, people will continue to "enable" developers like Rockstar to keep up what they're doing. There's nothing wrong with wanting to play a game for fun rather than spending that time boycotting a company.

Do yourself a big favour and actually read what people said before getting into any conversation online.

EDIT: And just so you know, because you're clearly a very intelligent reader and conversationalist, I'm going to be ignoring you now. Good day, buddy!

Haha, ok boss.

Whatever you say.

And you're right, you guys do make a big deal out of this, so people modify a game, so what. Big deal huh.

Point proven i guess.

Please define "community crap".

I'm not able to play freeroam anymore for crying out loud, there's cheaters terrorizing every single session. Racing? Forget about it, speedboosting cheaters destroying the fun. Deathmatch? Nope. Explode, respawn, explode, respawn. Contact missions? Barely.

I'm getting pretty sick and tired of contact mission though!

How are you having fun?!

And you're right, you guys do make a big deal out of this, so people modify a game, so what. Big deal huh.

Big deal.. Yes. Cheaters rendering you unable to play the game is a big f*cking deal. If you can't see that then i can't even begin to describe what you are without getting kicked out of this forum.

I don't play that often, and when I do I play with crew/friends.

The times I do stumble into public nothing seems to be happening anyway.

Lucky me?

Haha at the people raging at me, I am such a CURNT just cos I don't think a game being modified is a big deal? Haha.

You have absolutely no reason to care then. But you do feel compelled to come here and laugh at people that actually DO care? Why?

EDIT:And you not caring is not what makes you a CURNT, whatever the hell that is.

Your need to display it to us that "You just dont care, and how could anyone care, lol" makes you a CURNT.

From experience you're probably not going to answer any of my questions and keep on with your idiocy, so yeah..

Nothing to see here, move along civilian.

One more thing.

You're really proving not to care about "community crap" by not only being active on unofficial GTA community forums but also posting in a thread specifically about "community crap" and actively responding to others.

You basically claim to be the kind of person I mentioned in my first post in this thread, but your actions are saying otherwise.

Just thought I'd point that out for ya.

Thanks for the lecture, and for comparing me to sportsfans who only support their team when they win. 10/10 analogy.

What you basically said is what i think too, all they care about is money! Keeping that cash flowing! If they continue to NOT CARE about the state of their game however, the cashcow will dry out..

NOT CARING in the form of being unable to combat blatant cheating by modifying the game or do anything remotely efficient against it for 2 years is what i mean when i say they don't care.

Not officially responding to the thousands of cries about cheating in general on their support-page, while removing comments in their comment sections about it, claiming it is off-topic and has to go, while the hundreds of "HEY JOIN MY CREW LOL"-comments get to stay is what i mean when i say they don't care.

Releasing a "new game" for a new platform, market it heavily as the next godsend, fully knowing that these issues would arise, not doing ANYTHING about it. This is what i mean when i say they don't care.

This form of not caring i'm talking about WILL come and bite them in the ass. That's why i'm trying to at least raise some awareness, it's all i can do at this point..

And i know from experience how hopeless Rockstar is with online, RDR was both one of my best and worst online experiences, HUUUUGE potential, wasted on sh*tty networking, just like GTA 5. EDIT: GTA 4 Likewise now that i think of it

1 - You're welcome, you obviously needed the lecture.

2 - You missed the point. Yeah, they care about money. That's what businesses are & why they exist. I don't regard this as a criticism, just a way to look at what makes them tick so that we can continue to have our needs met. And to whatever extent they care about how the game functions (which I believe they do; Rockstar isn't literally just Scrooge McDucking in a pool of our money, and no one there gives one damn about the game itself), money is always going to matter more to a giant business. They are owned by a bigger company than themselves. They answer to shareholders and bean-counters. Even if half their developers thought it was a great idea to rewrite the game to use dedicated servers and they wanted to work more than their usual 80 hour weeks to accomplish that, they would be told no, it's not financially feasible and possibly destabilizing.

Also, how their support behaves has little relationship to how much their developers "care." Those aren't the same people. The guys who write and fix the networking code don't monitor those pages. As many people play GTA, it's almost certain that Rockstar support doesn't even work for Rockstar at all, but is handled by some outside company that specializes in call center work. (Which sucks for us as end users, but I don't know what choice they have - the number of support requests they must get is just unmanageable. I do that kind of work for a living, for what it's worth. You will always get better support from small companies and little-used products than from the most popular stuff on the market. Where I work, they can afford to employ enough specialists to cover most of the cases, but the bigger you get the more you have to rely on unskilled drones who work from scripts and are just trying not to want to kill themselves, because their job is ridiculously stressful and everyone they talk to hates them.)

Invite Only exists for a reason. Instead of making these kind of threads on GTA Forums why not use the Find a Lobby section and get some friends to play with on invite lobby? I've been here a few weeks and already found like twenty dudes who will hop in game with and have some fun. This thread isn't doing anything but proving that no matter what GTA game we're on there will always be that one group of people nitpicking reasons not to enjoy the online experience. It was like this on GTA IV, on SAMP and MTA. The same people praising the PC multiplayer mods Will likely be the ones complaining about the same multiplayer mods for taking a full year to release anything game changing in their clients. Look at SAMP forums if you don't believe me, there's a whole section of people complaining about this and that and that and this.

I've come to know that no matter what game you're on, there's always a percentage of people who find a way to moan about something. Just enjoy the game in front of you, stop worrying about everything else but your character and how you want to have fun in the game. Find some friends to play the game with and stay away from Public Lobbies if it's that's bad for you.

I get pretty lucky on PC tbqh

I run into modders all the time, but only a few are ever malicious. Most of them just end up dropping money on me and asking me to get into a neon colored bus that they then fly around los santos in funny ways.

It is kind of ridiculous though, because the last modder I met pretty much said he's been modding since release, takes no real precautions and hasn't gotten banned or reprimanded yet.

I don't need any lecture on this.. I understand how this broken system that people call "customer support" works nowadays. There is no need for you to point out the infrastructure of said system, i understand.

I've played a few 100 hrs of SAMP and it is NOTHING like this mess. SAMP has dedicated servers with all the anticheat and admins that comes with. How you can even compare IV/V and SAMP/MTA is astonishing to me.

And thank you! I know that invite only exists! It's where i play the game now thanks to these cheating pricks!

Pointing out that there are cheaters and terrorizers in every single public session in a game heavily marketed as a PUBLIC ONLINE GAME is NOT nitpicking.

It's pointing out obvious wrongs with a product that we as a community should stand together and demand they do something about. "HURR DURR STOP BITCHING" has never helped anyone in any situation ever.

I have played SAMP and MTA since 2010 and there are still a lot of hackers on there. Especially the auto aimers. So yes, even in those games with all the anticheat they add and whatever other tools to stop it, it still exists. There's always going to be cheaters.

There's always going to be cheaters.

An admin still has the ability to both kick and ban said cheater from the server though. And yes, there will always be cheaters, please point me to where i have said otherwise as people keep repeating this to me.

Are you trying to say we should stop combating cheaters because there will always be cheaters anyway?

Pathetic.

I do that kind of work for a living, for what it's worth.)

I don't need any lecture on this.. I understand how this broken system that people call "customer support" works nowadays. There is no need for you to point out the infrastructure of said system, i understand.

What I'm saying is that it doesn't work! It's horrible!

You don't even play that often!

You can stop making sense now, it left.

It?

Wanker.

Super sorry I don't care about a videogame like I should!

Bad me.

Stupid prick.

Pathetic.

its being more than problem that R* is simply unable to prevent or simply deal with modders or cheaters in general.

after taking abuse from modders for long time, i was pushed away from IV multiplayer around 2012 as R* was never able to contain the issue.

they completely lose control of RDR online, MaxPayne 3 online was full of godmode players.

when i bought V i had hopes they would have increased the security of the code to prevent modding but that was not the case, a couple weeks after gtao when live there were modders in the game, being the case since. evenknow there have been times they change something and modders "disappear" for sometime but a patch or two later they break the fix and modders rush in again.

last year they did something and modders were not able to use their menus for weeks, in december they did the same again, modders were not able to use most stuff on their menus like forcing animations on players and blowing the whole lobby, this fix worked til the heist update, hours after this update they were able to blow up the entire lobby.

heck V on pc had a trainer not even 24 hours after it release, thats ridiculous.

As much as I hate cheaters in this game and want them gone, I haven't really encountered any on PS4.

Only cheaters I've seen are people with rediculous levels, like one guy I saw that was lvl 8000 with stats like a lvl 1 and 999.9 K/D. lol

But I just assumed this guy did the cheat on ps3 and then transfered his char to ps4.

I feel kinda sorry for that guy, I mean how fun can it be playing with a char like that? And obviously he never actually played with his lvl 8000 char because his stats (shooting, driving and so on) where like I said those of a lvl 1.

I have a screen shot of him somewhere and was thinking about reporting him to R*, but then I changed my mind. It's not like he was a threat with his none existant shooting skill. I drove up to him to see what he looked like and he was driving a Sabre Turbo. lol

*edit*

This was a long time ago though, and I haven't seen any excessive lvl players in quite some time now.

... This is the scene I walked out to in Paleto Bay the other day. It's usually so quiet :(

They patched the script bypass for a while when they CRC'd it, there was only RTM/RPC modding (which sucks) for a good few months. I can't remember if that was around Christmas time, I'd stopped playing for about 6 months, even now I rarely play. Eventually another script bypass was released bypassing the CRC completely.

I tried telling the OP in the last thread that the last gen consoles are a lost cause, it's not because Rockstar haven't tried (they have, numerous times) it's because there's little they can do with the last gen systems at this point. It's pointless throwing money into a dying system, if it's just going to get bypassed, not only that, they have a literally impossible task in fixing the .SPRX menus. OP is literally just wasting his time and it's funny to a degree but also sad. The effort to keep this game cheat free is appreciated though.

PC will probably get fixed though, it's just a matter of time, it took them months to fix the DNS exploit, Rockstar don't have a track record of fixing things quickly.

The only way to play this game cheat-free is to play it on the PS4/One. It's the only systems Rockstar really care about anyway.

B-but I play on the PC and its primarily what i'm defending to get cheaterfree.

I understand that lastgen is a lost cause, and haven't claimed otherwise.

I'm going with what i can tell from playing the game. And from playing the game i can tell that Rockstar clearly does not and have not cared about keeping a cheaterfree environment over the past months. From my point of view they haven't done ANYTHING productive/effective against blatant cheaters ruining the game so far.
