No One Talking During Heists? What Happened to "You Must Communica

Well apparently it's not actually the lack of wanting to talk but it's the fact that a lot of people can't talk during the heists. The problem is that with the new Wi-Fi setup with the Xbox some people are getting Strict and and Moderate NAT types which prevents them from hearing and/or talking to others in Multiplayer games. Also, it may prevent them from hosting sessions (mainly those with Strict NAT types).

Solution?

Well the only solutions I know of are:

  • Everyone be in the same party and stay in Party Chat

  • Everyone go through their router settings and open all Ports needed

  • Try connecting your Xbox directly to your internet router and not through Wi-Fi (May work for some people)

P.S. The same problem may happen with PlayStation players, I don't know. I've never owned a PlayStation

We've all played em so no need to talk. Even when people talk, they just talk about real life things and then scream profanities when things go wrong. I then quit and they probably scream profanities again

Yeah but sometimes you do need to talk for those who've never played them or even talk so you know:
Who does better at what job
What percent cut can everyone agree on
Is there an easier way to do this than following the objectives

No need to talk tbh as everyone knows what to do by now and if not then u may have to communicate but I find this very rare.

Only time communicating is needed is during the CM run really as then no one can die but even so it's pretty limited still. Heists just really ain't that hard and its a shame really as the challenge wasn't really a challenge at all.

We've played together enough to know some of these randoms need us to hold their hand, lol

Heists are not very difficult and they're always the exact same.

There's nothing unpredictable about them.

The only reason you need a microphone is so you can tell your idiot teammates that they're doing something wrong. Or to tell someone to stop trying to improvise when you already agreed on a plan before you started.

I much prefer playing with people who communicate during heists and missions. You can actually have more fun and do whatever you want without fear of people misunderstanding eachother and sh*t going down. But after all this time of the same five heists being available, anyone who has done them once or a few times knows how to finish them. But playing with random people in public games I tend not to bother. 9 out of 10 times people aren't listening or if you text/message them, reading what you say. Even if you're saying it without a hint of arrogance or aggression. I give people a few chances, maybe give them a tip (but usually in vain) and then leave after X amount of failures.

By now, if you're playing with strangers, just stick to whatever is the best known plan for that mission. If you go off on your own, people get annoyed and things go wrong. If you're new to heists and want to learn about them, don't expect strangers to educate you. Ask friends and crew members, or make new friends. I'll happily help out new players if they're patient and willing to listen.

EDIT: But really, the main thing is that heist missions are always the same. If there were slight, random variations communication would be more important. For example if there were different methods/vehicles for the get-away in the bank jobs. If enemies came at different times or from different locations with different vehicles/equipment. If hacking minigames were randomised, if crowd control was more like it was in GTA: San Andreas. And a lot more possibilities. After the first time, heists start feeling like playable cutscenes.

Simple, heists aren't that hard. Anyone can complete them without having a mic.

There's absolutely no need to communicate anything, the game gives directions ALL THE TIME...

Only one setup needs a mic, but not needed if everybody has done it before and not an idiot.

Deliver EMP.

If people do what the game tells them to and stick to the best known methods, you don't need communication.

You don't need a mic plugged in to do well. However, for all of us that have don't use one (wether we have one or not), we choose to run the risk of having teammates trying to execute different strategies. I accept that risk. Keeping in mind (as I said before) though, that people generally don't listen anyway.

-Heists are predictable.

-Players are unpredictable but also dumb and usually refuse to listen.

-Communication is useful under special circumstances, like changing a strategy to have more fun, or when trying to beat a challenge.

Even then, though, they're not actually needed. They just save you time so you don't have to email eachother before the run or post on forums or whatever.

You really don't need to talk during heists. All you need is guns and common sense. If you don't have that, then you're screwed.

There's no communication because the other players feel like they're gonna wreck.

Anyway, just play heists with friends. If you don't have any, meet up with some here.

Mics aren't needed at all, save during the EMP delivery when you've found yourself with 2-3 monkey brained players who try and zurg rush the place or use non-suppressed weapons.

What's weird is how I only posted this to help others know that people don't talk because their NAT type might be strict or moderate... Or maybe even vice versa, yours is strict or moderate :monocle:

I'm on PC so fortunately, I can rely on/ use the public, on-screen text chat. That does however mean everyone needs to be able to understand and write English, which is no guarantee.

The thing is, I only speak when I'm spoken to... Which is never. I'm sure many others are the same way.
