How To Choose Rims

Obviously rim choice is all personal preference, but are there any generally accepted guidelines for choosing rims that suite a particular car?

In my opinion, if the rims fit the ones you could find on the RL counterpart of the car, they're good.

2- forget you made this topic

3-stop caring what others think of you, you are important enough that only your opinion of you means anythimg

It's not that I'm seeking approval, I am having trouble picking rims I like.

I think I like them, then inevitably after driving around for a bit I regret the purchase.

I usually just choose whatever I like best in the category that fits the vehicle. If I'm modifying a Super car, I use Super rims.

LOL this is normal for car guys. Human nature... always upgrading, then unhappy till next upgrade.

I typically try to have some sort of contrast between the main color and the rims and then play the secondary color as a compliment to the rims.

Example, my T20 is light metallic blue, with carbon trim and black as a seconday, so the rims on the car are black. Not sure if i'll move to carbon rims in that style but if I do, the color strip will match the car.

However, on my black Turismo, I have chrome rims as to play off the black a little bit and create some color differentiation but the entire car is black.

Where things get tricky is putting chrome on lighter colors. To me, they just don't mesh well in most cases but you'll occasionally make it work as I think I did on my lava red osiris with chrome rims.

I just put chrome twheels on everything, unless i feel like matching the rim color to the car. I have a few like that but like it was said already it all on how or what you like. It doesnt matter if anyone else does't like it, they didnt pay for it.

GT Chrome fits on pretty much all race and normal cars. Only for classics and off-road vehicles you have to be specific.

High end-supers,other luxury vehicles (high end sport cars, luxury sedans...)

Lowrider-sport classics and other vintage cars (classic muscle cars,Emperor,Glendale,Rhapsody...)

Muscle-muscle cars and vintage cars

Off road-off road vehicles,some pickup trucks,some SUVs

Sport-sport cars, coupes, some modern sedans and compacts

SUV-SUVs

Tuner-Japanese cars

Also, whitewall tires fit only on cars and bikes made before 1970s,on some chopper bikes (Daemon,Hexer,Bagger and Sovereign) and maybe on some 70s and 80s cars (Emperor,Glendale,Rhapsody...).

Rims are the one thing that always look good in chrome imo. Maybe painted rims for sports cars (i.e Futo, Sultan) and for supers only chrome or carbon, or black, gold ...something that fits the car.

As for custom rims, only on real drag cars, real offroad vehicles, and only the higher level customs with white and red writing. On some classics I like to leave everything as is for some reason, like my surfer, just cat justify changing those.

I concur, nobody likes a bad rimjob... well, almost nobody.

Hard to explain. I just know what to pick. Maybe it is car guy intuition?

Sometimes chrome Sports work well. w5otqJEW9E2h08NC3sAF3Q_0_0.jpg

Sometimes Muscle rims work well.

CVKww6IVxkmes6XJ0P0iDA_0_0.jpg

Sometimes Tuner rims work well.

0R_ZweGwIEWyj1vpS-M2iA_0_0.jpg

I normally spend at least 15 minutes choosing my rims. Some of them make the tire bigger/smaller or provide the illusion of a bigger/smaller tire. Some are taller or shorter. Really I tend to try and fill up the wheelwell as much as possible.

Go to LSC, select "Wheels", then have option of "Chrome Rims", not "Chrome Wheels".

Blame R* lol.

Op I understand your question and it is valid. I've been on online from day one and spent more money on vehicles than I've earned and I will tell you that wheel selection makes a difference in vehicle handling. Unfortunately most don't think so so there's no real reference on the forums on this topic. Without buying and testing on the road first it's a shot in the dark. A couple of my favorites that always work for me are, in the muscle wheels section REVOLVER and MERCENARY, and in the sports section SPLIT TEN. And remember until you find a wheel that works for you stay away from chrome. No need to waste money. Hope this helps

Actually, if anything, I would suggest unlocking the chrome wheels for free that way you spend NO money testing wheels.

Honestly, I've been using the stock wheels on many of my recent purchases. Osiris and T20? Stock wheels. Benefacter Schafter? Stock wheels.

I do like the new chrome "rims" for a lot cars and bikes. But eh, buy what you like. If you decide you don't like them later, buy some more.... and then a keish carp.

Choose what suits you, and what you think looks best on the car. A lot of times i end up choosing rims from the sports class, even on muscle cars and lowriders, because theyre in my opinion some of the best looking rims. Simple, yet elegant.

Who has proven this? Source?

A %420 speed boost would turn some cars into bullets. Color me skeptical.

P.S. Or was your post sarcastic? Can't quite tell.

LOL. Yes, really. I see people throwing out figures all the time. Some people lack the talent for nuanced writing. Just saying.
