Is the Coquette Blackfin worth it as a Muscle car?

How does it compare to the Dominator or Gauntlet for example? Anyone think it's a good Muscle car? Tempted to buy it.

The Coquette belongs in sports classics. I don't know what sh*thead at the studios classed it as a muscle but it's not. Also, Corvettes are not muscle cars. So yeah, as a muscle car the Backfin is a bit weird.

I'm willing to bet it's a Muscle by mistake or error/stupidity & they'll patch it to put it in Sports Classics. The Coquette Classic is SC, so why should the (older) Blackfin be Muscle?

Open up any generic muscle car magazine and chances are good you'll see an old Corvette. They're not technically muscle cars, but they get turned into drag racers so often they get lumped in with them.

Yes, it does do well in the Muscle class.

 

Also, the Guantlet is one of the worst race cars.

It's defo worth buying. It's 3rd in the muscle class so will be competitive in races and it's good looking.

Yes the Coquette Blackfin is definitely worth it, i think that it's great to fit the muscle class in my opinion because it's actually based on a custom corvette in real life which explains the custom looking stock rims.

It is definitely not worth it in the common sense of the phrase. While muscle class is great that almost all cars are identical and you can win races with most of them, paying ~700k for Blackfin is dumb considering you can get the same performance from a free Dominator/Gauntlet/Ruiner.

Honestly bought this thinking it was a Sports Classic (another one to add to my collection) but nope, R* got me good there. Still think it's a decent vehicle which I'm using in free roam, heists etc. just I can't figure out a good colour for it.

But anyway, it's quite hard to drive in a race, so if you aren't a beast of a driver, just keep it for free roam. I still prefer my Dominator (somewhat better handling and better top speed) or the Blade (much better handling despite the understeer)

So, let's do a rundown on Broughy's top 5 and their respective prices:

1. Dominator - FREE or $35,000

2. Dukes - $65,000 (NG, Returning players only)

3. Coquette BlackFin - $695,000

4. Blade - $160,000

5. Ruiner - FREE

6. Sabre Turbo - FREE (5th on LG)

 

Sorry, its price sticks out like a sore thumb despite being unable to dethrone the Dominator (which is either ****ing free or very ****ing cheap), let alone by a considerable margin that might make the price "worth it". I don't deny its value as a fun collector's car but it's definitely not worth the price tag as a race car.

It is because there is nothing classic about the car. It is based on a modern hot rod, same reason the Rat Truck, Slamvan, Hotknife, etc are all in muscle class. None of them are muscle cars, but they are highly modified hot rods, same as the Blackfin.

When I first saw that R* made it a muscle car, I thought for sure it would dominate the class like the Stirling did in the sports classic class, forcing players to pay big money to be competitive in racing. But as others have pointed out, there are equally good muscle cars that are cheap or free, so that's good.

 

Personally, I love classics, so I had to buy one. Couldn't help myself. No regrets.

The Blackfin is really, really fast. It almost matches a Dominator, which is the fastest of all the muscle cars.

 

 

 

Agree with previous posters though, that it really belongs in the Sports Classics class. Love to see some races between Blackfins and Stirlings.
