Gnocchi Flip Flops
...what now? My sister was being stupid and kicked over my glass of soda and it fell right on my keyboard and touchpad. (partially my fault for having it so close but undoubtedly her's too) My dad think the motherboard is gone and because those are expensive to replace, he's order a new HP p030nr which I'm glad about because my Toshiba was having sound, stalling, overhearing, and touchpad issues. I turned my laptop off after the spill, unplugging everything and put it upside down. I haven't touched it since. Looking at it though, there's a thin sheet of plastic between the keyboard thingy and the motherboard and it seems to have shielded it from the soda. Well most of it. On one tiny little uncovered part a drop or two of soda got on the motherboard. Now I'm getting a new laptop and my hard drive looks fine so hopefully I can retrieve my hundreds, possibly thousands, of photos from that right? But what about my Mozilla Firefox Bookmarks? Is it possible to retrieve those without a Firefox account? If not, then how do I go about starting up the laptop to record some of the more important bookmarks? Will the motherboard short out or just not work? The thing is, it worked fine a minute or two after the spill but then it froze. It started up again but was really slow so I looked up what I had to do and found out that I needed to disconnect all power resources. So what now? If I have to disassemble it and clean it all just to retrieve some bookmarks then you can hang it up, I'm not doing that. I'll also add that soda got on the inside of the touchpad area but that sh*t stopped working almost a year ago. Rebel
My heart bleeds. Also I think you'll be okay. It was only grape crush. Grape crush isn't as bad as orange soda. Orange soda is way more sticky. So you got lucky. As for getting bookmarks. Just turn the laptop on. See if it loads up. If it does you have an option on Firefox to save your bookmarks to your hard drive. Do that. Then on your new one just put them in. Failing that just download google chrome and it will ask if you want to import your bookmarks to that new browser. Just say yes. Then on your new laptop download chrome and it will show your old bookmarks. Gnocchi Flip Flops and Pavle

Gnocchi Flip Flops
Okay the laptop works but the keyboard doesn't. Do I just plug in an external keyboard?
lpgunit
Okay the laptop works but the keyboard doesn't. Do I just plug in an external keyboard? That should work. If you manage to fire up Firefox, start a new FF account and then use it to sync whatever content you have on your browser.
