Savage vs Hydra

What should I get? Which is better? I'm saving up but I'm unsure what to get.

Buzzard. Sure the Savage gets the job done faster, but a few handgun rounds make it kick the bucket 'will start to smoke and drop to the ground'

 

In a 1VS1 battle the Hydra is the best because you can climb faster, dive down and mow over the Savage. Both have glitched cannons though, they cannot hit flying enemies that are above their horison level. Got to keep that into account.

 

Accidents may accur if not used properly.

Hydra. The being able to lock onto vehicles players are in increased it's value to me along with the fact it spawns at helipads making it easier to use in missions or grab to chase a Smuggler before they vanish. Plus a nifty tool for crate hunting and for going after Lazer kiddies

 

Savage is slow and basically doomed if a homing launcher locks on. Plus it has sh*t armor. Only good thing is the multiple rockets it can shoot.

 

Hydra is the better investment

I don't own a Hydra as of right now, but I can say that the Savage is very good (if you're skilled with it). It can also carry quite a few passengers and with yesterday's update, the co-pilot can control missiles like he can in the Buzzard (which is very powerful if done right). I'd say the Savage is probably better for combat

Oh no? Well, there goes the last reason to have a Savage. Now noobs can steal those missiles as well. It was the only thing i liked about the Savage.

I was thinking about the Hydra but the fact that it's only a 1 person kinda makes me mad. I have a tank but I wanna blow sh*t up with my friends. Maybe I'll get the Hydra and use it to grind missions to get the Savage.

 

I don't understand how everyone makes so much money from missions. I can't make sh*t

I thought you were always able to shoot missiles in passenger but flyer could still shoot missiles too.

There is no comparison here, Hydra all the way.

 

Since I got the Hydra my choppers have seen zero flight time and I will probably never use them again.

 

Hydra is better on contact missions as well I find as have played LSC with others in the Savage and I still end up having 50+ kills due to being able to fly faster to the locations than the Savage/Buzzard can. It's also sooo stable in hover mode once u get used to it and far better than choppers in this mode.

 

In FR it is a beast and choppers just can't compete with it plus homing launcher can't ever touch u as long as u know what to do. I just can't talk highly enough of the Hydra tbh, it's main cannon is a beast and tears up anything it touches including Insurgent/Tanks.

 

It's the only vehicle in the game that is actually worth the big price tag, barring the Kuruma as its not really that expensive. Get it U WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!

I don't do any of that.. I despise using explosives (unless necessary)

I'm 9 times out of 10 the only person left when everyone else has died and finish the mission.

And I don't waste my ammo cuz I hate paying for it.

I do missions the right way, join other people, avoid freeroam in general.

 

I'm doing everything right, I'm just not making money as fast as I should be.

I had the same question last week and ended up buying both.

 

I prefer the Hydra by far. The Savage is good, but the mobility is terrible, it rocks all over the place when you're unstable and it's hard to land the thing - maybe I'm just a crap pilot?

 

The Hydra on the other hand is a piece of cake to land due to the hover feature.

 

Saying that, I don't regret my Savage purchase.

If you're doing everything right, and aren't making money as fast as you think you should, then either adjust your expectations or direct your complaints to r*. Nobody here can modify rewards.

The Hydra dominates in free roam, while the Savage is better for most contact missions. (Clunky VTOL control and missile reload makes the Hydra far less useful outside a handful of them)

 

If you absolutely ****ing have to choose one from these two, buy the Hydra. The Hydra can do alright in missions, while flying the Savage in free roam is just like signing your own death sentence.

I have both and grade the hydra 10/10 and savage 7/10. Savage is decent, fires a great number of rounds but it's slow and armor is bad. I love everything about the hydra. Go for it.

Personally, I recommend the Buzzard. I have the Hydra, Savage, and Buzzard, I end up using the Buzzard almost exclusively though, except when I just wanna mix it up. The Savage is way too slow, and it is not any more durable than the Buzzard, in spite of the increased size and firepower. The Hydra is pretty fast, but I find it very awkward to fly. The Buzzard is still pretty fast, is considerably cheaper, and is very fast and easy to maneuver. Definitely my favorite Pegasus vehicle, by far.

Hydra flies just fine in hover mode as far as I'm concerned. You should try the battlefield 3 F35...

Get both the Hydra and the Savage. The only three air vehicles you need are the Buzzard, Savage and Hydra.

Part of it has to do with preference, I like flying helo's more than fighter jets in games.

 

Also, in a mission like LSC, when others grab their Buzzards and Hydras, I like saying in my best Hans and Franz impersonation "Ahh, isn't that cute, look your flabbly little girly man rockets, you can fire two at a time. Watch me as I flex my big pumped up rockets".

 

Plus you can carry around people in a heli, more versatile.

Dude I'm sure almost everyone has played these missions enough times to not care about the journey and just in it for the money, when you can cut the mission times by 3/4's with a hydra/savage they pay for themselves after a few days to a week.

So much versatility. The spamming of rockets from a savage is only useful in a handful of situations.

Well thats the last time i took a random passenger with me i gues....i rather crash myself against a building then leaving some idiot at the rockets...especialy since the rockets lock onto other player their vehicles anyhow
