That T20 can take a beating. Just don't over do it, the insurance is $27K.

The T20 in single player is a JOKE. Maxed stats and it tops out at 119. Or maybe my save game is glitched. Comparisons for the online version show the Zenturno out accelerating it and the top speed is the same.

The Brawler is pretty, but the 2WD (yeah yeah, so is the vehicle it's based on), is crap. And it's breaking is TERRIBLE. Bordering on Rat Loader territory. i just dropped $1,000,000 (with upgrades) on a piece of crap I will never drive. The 6x6 kicks the Brawlers ass in every conceivable way.

Excellent points, assuming this is all fact.

Just want to point out to readers that unless you're a serious racer, it's irrelevant.

For free roam and co-op jobs/activities, it doesn't matter much if there's a small difference. Even if you make a contest out of arriving at mission objectives first, you don't need the best performing car in the game to get there before your teammates. All you have to do is drive something that's not an actually slow car (so you're good with anything half decent in categories like super, sports, sports classic, coupes, muscle, motorcycles and even SUV) and not to hit every obstacle on the way.

I constantly beat others to mission objectives (and for the record, I then tend to wait for them so we can start together) in a great variety of cars that aren't in the super or even sports category, while they're all driving everything from Elegy's to Adders and everything in between, including the new cars. They all think that having the car with the best stats means they will automatically perform the best. They get desperate to ram into you or overtake you so they go at full throttle and crash out badly on the side of the road or after going off a cliff.

For free mode, it's the same thing, really. You can do better than most players by simply not being dumb when driving. Maybe the Zentorno is slightly better than the T20, but the Zentorno (OR the T20) won't save you if you crash into a building with a psycho holding a sticky bomb right on your tail.

Short version: stats are great for serious racing. For everything else, small differences don't matter. Player "skills" do.

I agree. I win races frequently because i know how to brake and use the apex of a corner. I set my races to no contact so that winning is based your driving skill, not how good you are at ramming your opponent off the road.

I also agree that the small difference in preformace is pointless in the hands of a skilled driver. That being said, why drop $2.2million on a vehicle when you can get or already own one with stats so close as it makes no difference?

I remember reading a Car and Driver article back about 15 years ago about some of the best tuner cars available. There was an S2000 that had $190,000 in preformance modifications ontop of the base price. And it had its ass handed to it by a stock corvette you could buy for 1/4 the price.

Why spend so much on something that doesn't give you an equivalent increase in preformance?

if you can't afford a 2.2 million car after 2 years then you're playing it wrong. Go away and learn.

They are overpriced because a lot of people have glitched money and R* still can't do anything about most of those people.

I had to buy one though because I've been waiting on a McLaren type car for this game for a long time. The Turismo R was the closest thing we had, but it was still a Grotti brand.

Luxury, high-end items are supposed to be expensive. If anything, the new prices are more fitting and the previous prices are all on the cheap.

More expensive items allows for the people who put in time/effort to enjoy some more 'exclusive' things. If everyone, got everything for cheap (which it almost is with all the glitched/modded banks), I would seriously not play the Online portion of GTA.

Erm...

You seem to be understanding and agreeing with me, but then you're asking why someone would spend that money on something that doesn't give you an increase in performance? I would hope that'd be clear by now!

Because it's not about performance. If I only acquired what I needed, I would barely have any weapons. I would only use a single outfit all the time. I'd probably only have my first Elegy and MAYBE the Buzzard. None of the other Pegasus vehicles I've acquired since then. No Zentorno or any of the other fast cars that I have or will soon be the owner of.

I'm sure some people have bought the new Swift and Luxor. From what I know, they don't offer much other than being gold. Boats are useless, too.

I have four characters. I've acquired around about 100 vehicles and my garages will soon be (nearly) full. I have maybe 9 or so pegasus vehicles just on my main character. I also own a few bicycles stored in different properties. I have ten outfits, a bunch of tattoos and my other characters do too.

I'm still sitting on millions of dollars on both of my accounts.

What I'm saying is, I'm a collector.

Why buy something that's not faster, stronger or better protected? Because you like the appearance. Because it's a novelty item. Because you can do fun things with it. Because you like collecting things like vehicles and you have a lot of money to do that with! Variety is the spice of life, they say. I like taking out different vehicles at random times and playing (heist) missions with them or just having fun in free mode.

Again, short story; not all purchases are made with just racing in mind.

EDIT: Back to the price, people are constantly mentioning glitchers/modders. You're forgetting that there are many players who have been playing this game from the start, who aren't stupid with money and who can easily afford anything that Rockstar is putting in the game. I'm not that rich that I can afford to buy the golden aircraft on all of my characters and still have a lot left, but I can get by easily purchasing new cars, motorcycles, weapons and clothes. That would've been different if I had not taken several breaks lasting weeks each, sometimes longer.

We Are Ninja

No one's telling you to buy the expensive vehicle. If you want to stick with your cheaper alternatives like the Zentorno and Turismo R, that's fine, but the update had expensive vehicles/items because heists actually earned people a lot of money. Especially through the Criminal Mastermind, Loyalty and All in Order bonuses. The vehicles and clothes give the "richer" players a way to brag about having tons of money over the peasants that cannot afford the cars. Plus, the performance and handling of the Osiris and T20 are actually better for most people who have a driving style that doesn't suite that of the Zentorno.

Preach.

The price tag on each of these vehicles is probably the biggest feature. If their performance is lacking, they're more intended to be status symbols or collectors items. What were you expecting, really? The boat from this update and the aircraft from the last one should have been a good indicator of this.

Luxury, high-end items are supposed to be expensive. If anything, the new prices are more fitting and the previous prices are all on the cheap.

It's good that some people actually get it.

They are overpriced because a lot of people have glitched money and R* still can't do anything about most of those people.

Hence the DLC title; "Ill-Gotten Gains"...

Hmm... the only overpriced vehicle is the T20. I mean 2,200,000$ !?

With the Osiris it was a bit too much, but it was close to the real Huayra price.

But with the P1 base starting at only 1,350,000 and we get this? C'mon.

The rest? I kinda get the prices, like Chino or BlackFin. I mean some of the nicely maintained classics go for a lot of $, still nowhere near those prices.

As a car nut I had to buy everything, but now I see the bottom.. Only 1,349,121$ left

I think the update was exactly what it was billed as... a bunch of unnecessary stuff for people with too much money on their hands. Much like luxury items in real life. I am still glad they brought out the update even though I will not buy much of it because it helps the game from feeling stale.

They're overpriced on purpose. The main function of almost all the content in both IGG updates is to let rich players show off their wealth with flashy stuff that is significantly more expensive than other items of similar function. They achieve that goal perfectly. The secondary function, I believe, is to deplete the bank accounts of glitchers and people with lots of illegitimate money. "Sitting on 20 million from dupe glitches? Why not blow it all on a gold plane and helicopter so you'll be back to struggling like everyone else?" I think that's Rockstar's logic, and it's alluded to without much of a veil in the descriptions of the updates (especially the new one, which talks about us spending our "dirty money"... no, I don't think that is just referring to heists!)

So yeah, overpriced - but intentionally and for arguably a couple of solid reasons other than just "hurr durr kesh kerds."

As for overrated - not really. Stirling is a beauty and best in its class by a mile (it's not really even overpriced, either, considering the prices of some of the other sports classics). The two new supers do out-perform the Zentorno, albeit by a tiny margin, and serious racers are willing to pay for that performance edge no matter how small it is. Also, they're far better-looking cars and their insurance costs are a troll's wet dream, so again, you are paying for something other than just having the newest, most expensive car.

Overpriced? No if you compare some them to their irl counterparts. And remember, they are priced like that on purpose for rich players. So either grind, glitch or deal with it.

None of them are overpriced, the IGG updates are luxury item updates, meaning they won't be cheap. And they're mostly aimed at players with loads of money to spend, not people that still need to grind just to afford them.

Bullsh*t asskissing. You mean to tell me that the boat, Chino, and Virgo AREN'T overpriced? Are you kidding me? Yes the hell the are.

$630000 for a motorbike? I think R* are just using a random number generator with that one.

it does go fast for about 3 seconds!!

They're overpriced in terms of cost to added benefit, no question. But these items for the most part are for added sizzle, same steak.

The Osiris and T20 add some value in that they are top end on the speed scales, but the benefit and gain is not justified by the cost relatively speaking.

I have the Osiris and the T20 and I like them a lot, but if you don't have plenty of money the Zentorno might be more suitable for you because of almost same performance for a lot lower price. I bought those cars because I like how they look and I got money to spend. I bought also the Toro and I think its really overpriced. Really good looking boat, but slower than Speeder and no features that golden Luxor has. With those features it would be more worth for money and more fun to use with friends.

I like the idea that the Osiris and T20 are 'modern' cars, as such their performance is superior. This combined with a virtual inflation accounts for the price tags.

To be fair it seems balanced as average income has risen since heist release.

Anyway, the T20 has a freaking air brake.

I don't know if it's such a bad thing if they are expensive. I blew most of my money on the Stirling, Blackfin, Virgo, and Brawler and fully maxed them out plus a few chrome wheels to boot. It's enough to hold me over until I build up enough to get the T20 or Osiris next. I like to have a goal to strive for I guess, and in GTA Online it's pretty much make money to buy the next toy. Kind of glad I'm nearly broke for now.

At least you've got plenty of time to enjoy what you already have or acquired recently before buying something new and getting hooked on that!

I could've bought all the PV's I wanted a long time ago but I kept putting it off because making money was sort of addictive. Now I'm buying them one by one to experience them each one before I get the next one. And then I'll regularly play with a different one for missions.

Oh no f*cking sh*t, that's why I didn't buy them. I bought the T20 and the Osiris and the Stirling GT and the Coquette Backfin because they at least feel worth their price. But a million dollar boat that isn't even at the top of it's class? A $200000 prettied up Albany Manana? A $200000 lowrider? That's ridiculous. I think everything else is reasonably priced but those three items were not. Stop being such a narrow minded ass and think for a second. Just because I'm criticizing their prices doesn't mean I feel obligated to buy them. I don't actually want them but I'm just saying, $200000 for a 1970's personal luxury coupe that should've depreciated over the decades is not reasonable at all.

Its not that he doesn't need to by them, its the fact that the prices for SOME meh performance cars is outrageous.

You have to admit.A 200K lowrider is beyond stupid.

I completed Criminal Mastermind twice on both PS4 and Xbox One. I had about 30 million in between both characters. Now I'm down to about 18 million between both.

The cars are overpriced.

It's Ill Gotten Gains, the prices are supposed to be high. They assume your extremely rich from doing heists and your laying in piles of cash. To be honest, I really didn't get that high in cash, but I had more than enough to purchase what I want.
