Ill Gotten Gains vehicles over-priced and over-rated?

Just want to know what the opinion of players are about the pricing. I know it's pretty easy to get money nowadays, but that shouldn't be an excuse to suddenly increase the price of the new vehicles by more then 100% the price of existing vehicles that are not that much different, if not better in performance and in styling. So, are the new cars over-rated and over-priced?

Personally I think they are. They're completely lackluster and are all a waste of money. For what it's worth, you can buy the Zentorno while owning a car that is arguably still as good as the new supers while saving $1,225,000 and $1,475,000

yeah they are, but just buy the t20, i doubt there will be another update for a while, so it will give you a bit of time to save coin

None of them are overpriced, the IGG updates are luxury item updates, meaning they won't be cheap. And they're mostly aimed at players with loads of money to spend, not people that still need to grind just to afford them.

THIS SOO MUCH THIS :) well said... So many people complaining about the price and most of them are the ones that have to grind just to buy ammo :D

It also depends on what your favorite activities are in GTA Online. If you're not a racer, you don't need to collect a car in every class and max out upgrades. Just buy a Kuruma and a Zentorno and you have everything you need.

For me any vehicle over 2 million has to fly... for now at least. That's just me, I found some nice things in the IGG update. Can't say i'm disappointed.

In comparison to other items they are overpriced but that was the whole theme. Now a $3 million military jet, that's cheap imo.

I only find the Chino and Brawler to be overpriced, the latter being utterly sh*t.

Did buy the Chino though, because of my love for classic American vehicles.

Also bought the T20, because; why the f*ck not?

The Vindicator shouldn't even exist...

Only overpriced if you're poor and never took advantage of heists. It's updates all about spending your money you've got from heists like a baller. No sh*t it's expensive. Plus no matter what you do there's always a point where you get diminishing returns where you pay exponentially more for only moderate to low increase in performance.

I'm happy with the updates, finally got the overcoats I've been wanting, and got the Stirling GT, Virgo, BlackFin, and Brawler. All of which I think are awesome. I'm certainly pleased.

It's way overpriced. Not only the vehicles but everything in that DLC.

But the thing is that's an overprice DLC. Its been made to make us spend a lot of money.

Let's hope that the future DLCs won't add more ridiculously expensive items.

$630000 for a motorbike? I think R* are just using a random number generator with that one.

If they want to call it a "luxury" DLC then they should make the vehicles good. It's counter intuitive to release a super car worth $2,200,000 and have it be worse then one that is faster, better stability, more protective and far cheaper. It's a complete rip off if you think that spending more for a worse car is productive...

No one's telling you to buy the expensive vehicle. If you want to stick to your cheaper alternatives like the Zentorno and Turismo R, that's fine, but the update had expensive vehicles/items because heists actually earned people a lot of money. Especially through the Criminal Mastermind, Loyalty and All in Order bonuses. The vehicles and clothes give the "richer" players a way to brag about having tons of money over the peasants that cannot afford the cars. Plus, the performance and handling of the Osiris and T20 are actually better for most people who have a driving style that doesn't suite that of the Zentorno.

Plus, accordring the Broughy's tests, the Osiris and T20 are faster around a track than the Zentorno and the Turismo R. So we're spending more for more. Hell, the looks of the Osiris and T20 are far better than most supercars in the game...besides the Turismo R. That thing's still as sexy as the Osiris and T20.

The problem is that the "rich" are basically 80% kids who got hacked money, or glitched money. And then the rest who made this money legit with heists or straight up grinding missions.

So the whole concept of these items having any sort of "bragging rights" goes straight through the window since every session you join you can find 20 squeakers in their Osiris or T20.

These items sadly are not a status symbol because of the current state of this game, at the end they're just the flavour of the month, like any new content. Price tag is irrelevant.

But no, I'm not complaining that they are pricey, imo they are fine as it is, I'm just commenting on how they have no value as rockstar or you wish they had.

The price tag on each of these vehicles is probably the biggest feature. If their performance is lacking, they're more intended to be status symbols or collectors items. What were you expecting, really? The boat from this update and the aircraft from the last one should have been a good indicator of this.

The brawler is either underpowered or overpriced...same for the new bike and lowrider....then again with such insurance prices freeroam warriors are less likely to kill you though.

The T20 in single player is a JOKE. Maxed stats and it tops out at 119. Or maybe my save game is glitched. Comparisons for the online version show the Zenturno out accelerating it and the top speed is the same.

The Brawler is pretty, but the 2WD (yeah yeah, so is the vehicle it's based on), is crap. And it's breaking is TERRIBLE. Bordering on Rat Loader territory. i just dropped $1,000,000 (with upgrades) on a piece of crap I will never drive. The 6x6 kicks the Brawlers ass in every conceivable way.

Well, to me and to other legit players, it does have value since we earned our money legitimately through playing the game. To you or to other people, it may not have value. I'm not wishing that the cars have value. I know they have value to me. Other people will see it as me bragging that I have enough money to afford it, other people wont. It doesn't bother me either way

I don't see the issue with the prices. Since the heists, I have spent over $16m on vehicles (not including fully modding them all).

eWM10xv.png

(I know the BlackFin is technically a muscle car - but I prefer to think of it as a classic).

All of that money has been gotten legit - mainly from the All In Order & Loyalty bonuses and CM challenge...plus the heist money itself and from missions. If you do the CM challenge, then you should have more than enough for most of the vehicles released recently.

For IGG updates, the high price has been one of the points of it. I hope that if another super gets added in the future, then the price will be more in line with the Zentorno or Turismo, but then I would expect performance to be lower as well.

Excellent points, assuming this is all fact.

Just want to point out to readers that unless you're a serious racer, it's irrelevant.

For free roam and co-op jobs/activities, it doesn't matter much if there's a small difference. Even if you make a contest out of arriving at mission objectives first, you don't need the best performing car in the game to get there before your teammates. All you have to do is drive something that's not an actually slow car (so you're good with anything half decent in categories like super, sports, sports classic, coupes, muscle, motorcycles and even SUV) and not to hit every obstacle on the way.

I constantly beat others to mission objectives (and for the record, I then tend to wait for them so we can start together) in a great variety of cars that aren't in the super or even sports category, while they're all driving everything from Elegy's to Adders and everything in between, including the new cars. They all think that having the car with the best stats means they will automatically perform the best. They get desperate to ram into you or overtake you so they go at full throttle and crash out badly on the side of the road or after going off a cliff.

For free mode, it's the same thing, really. You can do better than most players by simply not being dumb when driving. Maybe the Zentorno is slightly better than the T20, but the Zentorno (OR the T20) won't save you if you crash into a building with a psycho holding a sticky bomb right on your tail.

Short version: stats are great for serious racing. For everything else, small differences don't matter. Player "skills" do.

Personally find the pricing irrelevant as there is little to nothing, certainly none of the cars that I want anyway. But yeah! if i did! those prices could go f*ck off anyway...

i think thats kind of the point and rockstar are aware of it.

it kind of mirrors real life in a 'justin beiber stupid chrome car' type way..............a thing of no practical value.......... who also bought a ridiculous thing of no practical value.

chrome is a 'garnish', unless you're the silver surfer.

Overpriced, sure. Things got a little crazy the past two updates in terms of cost. However, overpriced doesn't mean overrated, especially when the two super cars that came out at the clear #1 car and anywhere from #2-#4.

These cars are expensive, but they are excellent cars performance wise. Of course, the other cars are more show than useful. If anyone thinks otherwise, that is overrating them.
