The Coquette BlackFin is a Muscle Car?

Like seriously, what is up with that? It's really irritating considering the Coquette Classic is a Sports Classic. I guess the Stirling doesn't have to worry about it's throne.

If the BlackFin happened to be placed into the Sports Classics class instead, it'd probably be 3rd place there as well.

Someone posted a real basis version of it. I guess it's like some sort of modern concept car. Muscle or Sports, but not Classic.

Based loosely on the C1 Corvette, Muscle class is probably fitting.

Like it's on the fence between Muscle & Sports Classic I guess. But really... who cares what class it's in... it's gorgeous...!

My only question is if we have a new champion. We need some Broughy science here.

Dominator vs Blackfin.

There is nothing classic about the car that it is based on.

I believe this is what he meant

So it's a C1 chasis but with all modern internals and drivetrain? Cause on the videos description it say 62 corvette which would mean it's still a vette.

It is a highly modified C1 vette. The only thing still original is a very small amount of the body. 99% of the car is new.

Well, here's the deal... there are far more sub-categories of automobiles than Rockstar can really account for.

If you want to get technical, the Dominator classifies as a Pony Car, as well as the Phoenix, Ruiner, and possibly the Gauntlet as well, depending on your interpretation of what the Gauntlet is really meant to represent.

Muscle Car - family sized rear-wheel-drive powered by a big V8

Pony Car - Smaller car designed for performance, both in terms of cosmetics and mechanically.

Ideally, the Coquette Blackfin would fit into a new category that would also include vehicles like the Hotknife, Rat Truck/Rat Loader, Blade and possibly even the Warraner: Custom Cars.

But really, at that point, we're splitting hairs. The Muscle class is essentially made up of American V8 RWD cars of any vintage, and that's fine.

The reason the Coquette Classic doesn't fit into the Muscle category is because it's in its original factory form - no suspension or performance upgrades come with it. The Blackfin, on the other hand, as a modern Coquette engine and drive train, modern suspension and even a more modern interior.

Either way, it's cool to have a Coquette in 3 of the car classes... Maybe we'll get a Coquette super soon, based on the Corvette ZR1. It could be styled like the Coquette from GTA IV but with cosmetic and performance enhancements similar to the ZR1.

I'm anti-video when words will do just fine, but I'm going to assume that you've found it. I did too, with readin', and it's exactly what he says.

They took a 1962 Corvette body shell, then fabricated a new frame, new engine, and new other bits and stuck 'em together. Then they modified the shell to make it look more retromodern.

The result is basically a one off, hacked together, project car. You can call it a muscle car, a sports car, or a coupe but you certainly cannot call it a "classic" because it's not. Muscle seems much more fitting than Sports.

I wouldnt exactly use the words hacked together to describe it but yeah I agree completely.

interesting, thanks for your important research

this still doesn't answer if it's a sports classic or muscle car though.......

It's neither, it's a total custom job. The body wouldn't even be entirely original, likely been shaved and chopped quite a bit.

But there's no "Customs" class in GTA, so Muscle will have to do. Hotknife and Rat Truck are two others that don't fit, as well as the Dominator and Pheonix - those are pony cars, not muscle cars.

Don't worry about it.

Pretty sure it's been thoroughly explained that it's a muscle car and why it's a muscle car and not a classic.

The Bravado Gauntlet (has styling from both the modern Dodge Challenger and modern Chevy Camaro),the Declasse Vigero (has styling from both the 60s Chevy Camaro and the 60s Dodge Challenger), and the Imponte Ruiner (based on the GM F Body used for the 80s Chevy Camaro and Pontiac Firebird) are all pony cars as well.

Another example of a custom car: The Zombie 222, a 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback that has been modified to have a fully electric motor, giving it insane acceleration compared to most modern day Mustangs even. It is many things, but it is no longer a "classic" car.

What ever the class i just wish the Black Fin looked more like a stock 1962 Vette than a customized version.

Oddly enough, despite being a modern concept, the website describes it as a classic automobile. (R* Logic?)

The website also describes Glendale (based on 60s and 70s Mercedes Benz cars) as a 90s car and Warrener (mostly based on an old Nissan Skyline) as a Swedish car. It´s not really a good source of info.

Yeah, plus we are assuming car model years in the GTA HD universe match car model years from the real world. Remember, Vapid was founded in the 1940s, around 40 years AFTER its real world counterpart Ford was founded. Its quite possible in the HD Universe the Skyline equivalent was made in Sweden, not Japan.
