Mansions in Next update?

If Rockstar did a mansion and added activities in that mansion like pool, darts, bowling and maybe an indoor basketball hoop then your properties would serve a purpose. Plus correct me if im wrong isn't the whole point of them asking what we want is to deliver on what we want.

I think people are confusing the 3rd summer update to be Ill-Gotten Gains part 3. Who knows what they'll call the next update, if they call it anything at all besides Title Update 1.xx.

 

@MagicNarcosis because everything in this game has a function no matter how stupid it is. R* is not going to spend time to carve out a space where all the player will do is walk around.

@Gaffa... No because mansions would still have no function other than to look pretty. Unless stuff like darts, pool, gun range, dancing, weight lifting, arcade games etc were added mansions would be a big hunk of wasted data.

 

Does anyone remember Madd Dogs mansion in San Andreas and how there was absolutely nothing to do there?

 

This just gave me an idea to submit to Rockstar. They could easily "add" activities to a hypothetical mansion. Inside the mansion would be a gun range, darts board, arm wrestling table, tennis court, putting/driving range etc. You wouldn't be able to play the games in the free roam lobby of course, but it would take you into a game lobby located at the mansion to play the activity. Much like how they currently work, just at new, purchasable locations.

That's right. They confirmed that current gen consoles will, hopefully, be getting the Rockstar Editor this summer, and in today's post they mentioned additional changes to the content creator in a future update. both feature could be released in an update next month, assuming they're still on track with Editor, or could be in separate updates.

 

Anyways, I don't think we'll be seeing Mansions anytime soon. I think we'll see the Single Player DLC, Casino, Maze Bank Arena Indoor Dirt Track, and other things mentioned in the Beach Bum dialogue first. If they do add a mansion similar to Micheal's/Franklins, I don't think anyone should expect it to work any differently than the current houses. You'd load into the interior though loading doors. (Unless they can make it seamless. Walking through the door would put you in "your" mansion, just like single player, but you'd have to interact with the doorbell/receive an invite to enter "another players" mansion.) If the windows aren't closed, you would be able to see everything happening outside, but everyone outside wouldn't be able to see what's happening inside the mansion.

Guys, there will be no mansions. Ever. Just like there won't be open clubs in free-roam, no Casino, no pink slip races, no useable Arena, no hydraulics etc.

This is it from now on. They gave us the heists, now it's just new clothes, new cars and new weapons. Expect the bare minimum going forward.

You don't need 25 rainbow colored super cars just to show off, if you're not going to drive them you don't need them. It's the equivalent of buying a collection of different Beats by Dr. Dre and not using them for music; but to show off.

As for the rest you cannot simply just say it wont ever happen because thats just as silly tbh we have that mysterious leaked file for one that came out not too long ago (maybe it has to do with mansions/maybe it doesnt...) + mansions would be super expensive in-game and the demand for mansions is so high that it would boost shark card sales even more (for example, think of all the youtubers that would buy them for one just to make some kind of skits or upload some new content lol)... who knows could be part of some paid holiday dlc or something, could come out a year from now, who knows. Just never say never

Going that way, who needs anything in any game. Why do we even need to have garage space at all? They should have kept everything the same as GTA IV's multiplayer. If you want to drive your favorite car you have to find were and when it spawns.

 

Like you said, it's wanting things not needing things. Look at other games such as Saints Row, Test Drive Unlimited 2, Gran Turismo, Forza, Need For Speed, Burnout, etc I could go on. All of those games allow you to unlock or buy every vehicle available in the game. Do you need to own every car, or multiples of the same car in Saints Row? No. Is it nice having the option to do so, if you so choose? Yes. What if they decided to make our characters weapons/closets limited. For example:

 

With guns:

You can only carry four guns a time: two side arms, one two handed and a heavy, along with one throw able. Every time you wanted to switch weapons you have to pay for them in full again, and repurchase any weapon mods/skins.

 

With clothing:

Without a property you can only own the clothes you can wear. Buying apartments adds closet space. Low end property closet can only hold up to 25 pieces of clothing, while medium allows 50, and high end allows 75. If you run out of space, you have to donate your old unwanted clothes. If you wanted to wear them again you'd have to go back to the clothing/mask shop and buy them again. getting ride of any limited time clothing means it's gone for good, unless the developers decide to add them again.

 

If both of those those things were in the game players would find absurd, even though they don't "need" to own every gun or every piece of clothing. It's just like how the tattoo shop used to charge full price for every tattoo, but now only charges $100 if you had previously paid for that tattoo. we didn't "need" it but it was a nice improvement, and goes against the idea that everything the developers do or change is for the sake of selling cash cards.

With GTA6 at least another two to three years away I think we can expect a game changing update or two over the coming few years. I don't think mansions will ever happen but if they do.... I hope they sell for $15,000,000+ because it will put them out of reach of most players including myself. I don't want one and I don't need one. I certainly wouldn't grind missions and heists for months just so I could own a pointless property with a 20 car garage. If you were to fill the mansion with mini games like pool, bowling, darts, tennis court in back yard, ping pong, space invaders, poker, pinball.... Along with the ability to customize the interior.... Then yeah I'd be interested (maybe).

 

Casino, new contact missions, maybe the option to own a business that in turn generates an income and offers new activities/missions or whatever.... All that would be very welcome and I don't think is unrealistic to expect in the near future.

Yep, I want nothing more than to own a huge mansion, only to see 12 other people in my yard blowing stuff up and killing each other every two minutes. It will be the same as apartments, but more expensive, more useless and more annoying. Why did this guy come out of my mansion and is on my property again? At least apartments make sense that way because it's a tower block.

Plus for certain races you need certain cars and it differs in each car class as well. I'm sure a sh*t ton of people would agree to have a 4th property to own more than 30 cars, you're just mad cuz you're broke and only got one apt.

Unless Rockstar tells us mansions won't be added we don't know they won't be added. We don't even know how likely it will be.

If it is going to be 2-3 years before GTA6, then if you a PC player you better plan for 4-6 years or never getting it.

You have a point, This wouldn't be the best idea, but i mean the apartments are preety boring. And if i would have known a ton of these threads were already posted i wouldn't have started it in the first place.

Im all for mansions but they need to add even more reason to buy them like 20 car underground garage or something, activities to do there, poker, pool, darts, mini golf,helipad something else you know...

 

Or crew HQ as a crew you pool your money in to buy stuff for your HQ business and it generates money to all crew members if u do crew activities drug running weapons trafficking

eh I mean I guess, kinda wouldn't make sense for multiple people in a lobby to own the same mansions out of a select few.. would certainly make for awkward moments when you're walking the grounds of "your" mansion and some random walks out of the front door lol

 

Thought this too, but there doesn't seem to be issues with the middle class houses (6 car), even the one near Eclipse Towers. If there was one only, sure, you'll get issues, but if they had a few it should be OK.

 

Could R* not convert some of the smaller middle & lower class houses to high end...? Maybe just adding a ten car garage to them would be sufficient & it may be easier to alter the current apartment interiors & current house exteriors a little to match in rather than bring in totally new "mansions".

 

Another thought was limiting to one only high end apartment (as opposed to the current 3), but allowing as many garage only properties as a player wants...

I don't really care about mansions, but I do like the idea of having more of a variety of houses (not apartments, but houses) to choose from

 

Just like with the house on Hangman Ave, give us an actual house but with the interior of a high end apartment.That means it is a larger high end house, but that doesn't mean it is a mansion. Rather than re-scope a new interior, I would be fine with more properties with the high end apartment interior, which means an actual house (like the one on Hangman Ave) with a 10 car garage.

 

Hopefully it isn't too much to ask for.
