Next Up: Military Update

I'd like to see something a bit different in the next update. Something that makes people say 'wow, I never saw that coming'. I have no idea what that 'something' would be (good job I don't work for R* creative, then), but it definitely would not be military themed.

You can't generalize a certain type of people, it's like saying only "poor ghetto people" want a gang dlc, when that's untrue. Besides a gang dlc would serve no purpose technically, because online has it's own little story mode going with it. And our characters are already multimillionaires. If you people don't want a military dlc or something different,than by all means don't expect any other types of updates. If high life is all you people want, don't complain when the game gets boring. It's a Open world sandbox for a reason

 

we do want something different. military isn't it though. it's so incredibly f*cking common in other games!

The original point i was trying to make was, any dlc can be generalized and unwanted /wanted. That's where the sandbox factor comes in.

Alot of people have been requesting a military update, people still use those heavy vests even though that was from the heist update.

It'd also make PvP more interesting aswell. You can't say only a certain type of people want a certain type of dlc.

People want something different and a military update would do just that. Imagine all the new attack vehicles and stuff. Maybe even A repelling feature. and we still don't have the hunter. A military dlc would add longevity depending on how it's, executed.

And yea maybe it doesn't fit the game but, it's not too far unrealistic either. Yea maybe planes dropping nukes or something would be overboard. But not more military clothing / realistic vehicle's.

Military is the lowest common denominator in computer games now, played by people with zero imagination who just can't get past this idea that killing is all one can do in a game.

Freeroam isn't free as you are only free as long as you regard deathmatching as awesome.

I think they should remove all military items from the game actually;)

i honestly want a street racing or at least a ''racing'' update soo bad more than anything else. racing suits and helmets, bunch of GT1 versions of the already existing supers and sports in the game. proper racing tracks designed by R*. some kind of a championship that happens once every 2 weeks or so and holds big prizes and awards for the 3 winners at the end, the ability to use that small garage room in your 10 car garage and choose cars you want to customize and actually keep hoods, bumpers, roofs, wheels, spoilers that we bought from LSC or previously owned to change between them using that small garage. and for the street racing, couple of japanese tuners from the 2000s, pink slip races, new turbo sounds, NOS, interior customization, wide body kits.. R* was called for it multiple times by youtubers like Gun1t123 and Broughy1322 and said that ''they might give it a look in the future'' but we are yet to have anything other than ''rich and style'' updates as OP said. for the military update i doubt that we will be getting such thing since R* probably considers the Heists updates to be it. and it makes sense too i mean look at all the vehicles and clothing we got, you cant get more military than that at least.

I think we have plenty of shooty-explodey stuff already for a game supposed to be not about war criminals but crooks of a more civil persuasion. Now, do not get me wrong: I like that we have the option to bring out the big guns every now and then, but a content update entirely focused on military would go in a direction not fitting the scenario.

There is not so much milspec equipment left that is significantly different from what we already have and at the same time not war theater exclusive. The Los Santos underworld is not the right place for artillery cannons, tactical nukes or strategic bombers. That is not how crime works unless your crime includes invading a foreign country or staging a rebellion, which incidentally is just the kind of story background such a military update would necessitate if we want it to actually bring some mission content instead of just new and expensive toys to play soldier with.

Meanwhile there is still lots of room to work on things that would improve the more crime-compatible side of GTA. So far our nightlife consists of going to the one(!) strip club or playing darts in a grimy bar somewhere in the desert. We could do with at least two nightclubs (one upper-class pop/electronic music temple and one seedy metal bar), a casino and maybe a couple of other activity-related buildings ("Hey, cousin, you wanna go bowling?" ), and all of these things would blend better with the theme of "do crime, spend booty, rinse, repeat".

Think there is already enough military themed things in the game. Tanks, attack helicopters, fighter jets, armoured vehicles, army trucks and jeeps, military weapons, cam clothing, body armour...

 

In fact I can't really see what they could add if they were going to release another military-themed DLC.

 

My biggest wishes are:

 

More contact missions

Mission creator

More things to do at sea - wrecks with treasure to explore / collect, oil rigs. scuba gear on all boats

Businesses to own like in SP

20 car garage

More military stuff? f*ck that. I want a street racing update; nitrous, more car mods, pink slip racing, half nekked girls starting races and all that stuff.

 

A casino update; roulette, blackjack, bandits, poker, wheels of Fortune or even horse racing (since it's at the back of the building anyways). Even update the high end apartments to include some of those games, new limos with personal drivers and tuxedos, win a f*cking car! All that shiny sh*t.

 

Destruction Derby update; new junker vehicles, decals, dirt bike clothing, ripped jeans, kneepads, MX bikes, open the arena!

 

The Dealer update; new drug dealing system, buy in one area and sell in another for profit. Meet contacts in Grapeseed and try to fly/land a plane full of drugs at the airport without attracting police attention. Meet contacts on shorelines and boat the product to point on the map out at sea without getting caught. Face bandannas, trench-coats etc.

 

Gang Rivals update; gang street wear, gold teeth, doo rags, gang tats, low riders, A CLEAN f*ckING VOODOO! Or biker gang stuff too like denim jackets, choppers, handlebar mustaches and five-finger-fillet games!

 

The Night Life update; Open some clubs and pubs! Dance floor mini games, drinking mini games, strobe lighting, new dance tunes, spangly flared disco wear, murder on the dancefloor! For the pubs we'd have pool, darts or even f*cking cribbage!

 

The Commercially Brainwashed update; open the mall/s! (actually) 100's of new clothes, customisable apartment items, new TVs, stereo systems, beds, couches, coffee tables etc etc. Gun battles in a 5 story mall! Shoplifting!

 

Oh and mansions full of indoor swimming pools, poker tables, private cinemas, tennis courts, mini games - give us a reason to hangout with friends in our personal places. f*ck more military sh*t...

Gang DLC - Yea it'd be ok. Nothing special. Random low end clothes, and useless weapons.

 

GTA is a sandbox, meaning anything can be added. Yea it's about crime and stuff, but this far we haven't gotten a gang dlc and we probably won't.

 

Military DLC is wanted by the majority, just look at all those military threads that have been created thus far.

 

You can't generalize a DLC or people wanting a DLC because YOU don't like it. Not everyone wants a low end crappy dlc.

In all honesty a military update isn't really required. A boat and perhaps being able to purchase the laser would be nice but it's not essential.but

 

A biker update maybe but there is a fair chunk of biker content

 

A street racing update would be good content wise. Adding custom options like kers drs on various cars within the update like a Nissan skyline for instance.

 

However gta is at the point now where we need another game changer or more open world activities. Its about time the added things like Bahama mamas, the casino or more interiors, new houses and customisation options for these houses. Perhaps hotels with penthouse sweets and access to exclusive items and services. More level locked content and of course more heists!

Man I don´t know a game with such many guns as GTA V now. In my opinion enough. I agree with the most people here. There are many other things that would match better. Tuning and night life update for example.

And you GTA soldiers want more military stuff when we really don´t need them,you have various camo and tactical outfits,Insurgent and Insurgent pickup,Merryweather Mesa,Crusader,Technical,Barracks OL,Rhino,Lazer,Hydra,Buzzard,Savage,Valkyrie,Annihilator,RPG,Homing Missiles,Minigun,MG,Combat MG...Even the regular guns like pump action shotgun or AK 47 look more tactical than in older games.

 

And no,Military DLC is not wanted by the majority,it´s not even among the top 5 wishlists for most people,more people want stuff like Street Gang DLC with baggy gangsta clothes and lowriders with hydraulics,Outlaw Biker Gang DLC with biker clothes and chopper bikes,or Illegal Street Racing DLC with classic muscle cars and 90s Japanese cars with nitro.

 

There is also a military in GTA 5,and it serves no purpose as well.It has been featured in even less missions than gangs.Also,military DLC actually wouldn´t be special because Flight School,Last Team Standing and Heists already had a bunch of tactical stuff.

I'm no fan of modern military stuff, but things like the marksman pistol and musket are pretty cool. A "Historical Reenactment" Update would be pretty sick, with weapons, vehicles (maybe even horses), and uniforms ranging from Revolutionary times to WWII. Or even an update based off of that D&D spoof, Loot & Wank, where you could buy cheaply-made swords, shoot crossbows, and prance around Los Santos in knight's armor calling other players "knave" and "sirrah"...

 

But all we can do is dream...

me, personally, i'd want a street racing update, featuring the ability to add KERS to high-end/mid-level vehicles, with the addition of some new cars (an exotic, a muscle and a proper JDM car)

 

a gang related DLC with a few throw-backs here and there would also be nice

 

(add some of the gang vehicles from older GTAs, namely GTA3, and a clean Voodoo with hydraulics. add the ability to put hydraulics on other lowrider type vehicles as well. add new missions and freeroam events that get the other gangs more involved with the online gameplay. also add new game-modes and events where players and crews can battle over territory anywhere on the map. clothes and weapons are a given. so not only is this gang related, but there's also classic gang cars added for those wanting a throw-back DLC, accompanied with hydraulics and a clean version of a once popular lowrider for those wanting a lowrider DLC)

 

i'm not expecting everyone to like my ideas, but i'm sure i'm far from the only one that'd like to see things like THIS happen instead of just "hey guys, we couldnt think of anything so here's some camouflage pants and a gun you'll never use" :\

I can't fathom why people have hardons for milspec things in this game. OTOH, perhaps Rockstar should consider releasing GTA: Damascus City Stories to pacify you people.

 

As little interest as I have in motorcycle/gang DLC every time I look at random pictures in Snapmatic I'm astounded at the number of people uploading the bizarre MC kill photos with extensive writing about such and such's patches sucking and how they killed them, etc. It leads me to believe there are alot of people RP'ing (and heavily so) the MC element that it's almost sort of tragic that R* is not giving them something to male their world, and thus the game, a little more immersive.

 

The biker crew RP dedication continually amazes me. My lack of interest aside, I want these people to have more.
