Really? 'tactical' and 'military' really aren't that different in retrospect if we're talking aesthetics; I'd also like to know how the Savage, Insurgent and Valkyrie are considered 'tactical'. No offence, but this is the last thing we f*cking need.

This isn't Battlefield, Call of Duty or any other military sim. It's a game revolving around criminals robbing, selling drugs and stealing. We're not bombing third world countries or preparing to create an insurrection in San Andreas. We don't need more tanks, an armoured Barracks and whatever else.

This also isn't "rich guy paradise" either. Yet we have suits and expensive cars. This is also a sandbox, meaning anything can be added.

Unfortunately, this looks like the case: faster, shinier, brutaler, expensiver.

No I'm not saying it's not about that, I'm saying gta just isn't about being rich but without any sandbox elements. Why can't we have better military stuff? If GTA was all about being rich why do we have weapons?

Why dont we have taxes? If everything must be up to par with real life why can't we have mansions? What I'm trying to say is. GTA is a sandbox it's for ANYONE. you should be able to dress your character up however you like

First, you're treadingly dangerously close to making absurd points to defend your interests. Rich things are far more relevant to V than Military things, for Christ's sake the logo of V is a dollar styled note. Also, to say 'GTA isn't about being rich' is just silly. Vice City was about Tommy accumulating money and power, San Andreas: CJ goes from a broke kid from Grove Street to becoming a stake owner in a Casino and managing a famous rapper. IV has you playing the role of a character who will do virtually any dirty job if the price is right. V is all about chasing money, why do you think they robbed the UD? That said, as tacky as Ill Gotten's stuff is (some of it, not all of it) it's fitting into this game because why do a lot of people choose crime? Greed, the pursuit of money. What is Ill Gotten, High Life and Heists? Chasing cash so you can continue fueling a fast paced lifestyle of cushioned luxury. A military update is not relevant to in-game features and would serve only to cater to people who have a hardon for cosplaying and roleplaying they're mercenaries and soldiers, to that end we have TONS of gear to serve that desire. There's literally zero reason to add a military update with rational points other than to cater to the players I just pointed out? It'd be more relevant to add a Gangs update with Yakuza tattoos, Triad Tattoos, gang themed clothing and so on and so forth before a military update had any reasonable explanation being in-game.

Those are biased points, yea it's about chasing the Almighty dollars but, being rich doesn't mean you can't have military clothes. My point is this is about being a criminal in a sandbox game. Meaning the options of clothing should be whatever you desire.

Nothing I said was particularly biased at all. I'm not really into all the tacky suits or bright coloured cars, I'm just defending that as gaudy as the rich living updates can and have been, they bear far more relevance to the theme of GTA V than a military update. I really don't care if they add in military things along with civilian things, but when people say they want more military they want tanks, weapons platforms, attack choppers and bombers. We don't need more tools for griefing. If they tack on military clothes with an update like today's, I don't care. But the last thing we need is more assault vehicles.

Apart from holiday/special theme/celebration, every updates have been following some kind of background story scenario (and hence why I always call the Heist delay was just a marketing drama, by knowing how a production works like). Let's take a look:

First, we got Beach Bum Update, as a theme for your fresh off the plane. You're supposedly still poor and just a bum with your dirty money and cheap stuff.

Second, we got Dangerous Business Update, brought up a theme where at this timeline, you're supposed to already have met higher contacts and is in higher level of life. Still, I don't know where the f*ck is the 'Business' part here.

Third, the last theme followed by High Life Update, which at this moment, you are supposedly to be very successful and starting to invest in properties.

Fourth, in the top of your career, Hipster Update brought some of you rich ass some 'different' successful lifestyle stuff to stand out from other criminals.

Fifth, after you're being in the top of your career and supposedly rich for a long time, Heist Update introduced you the next level of your career.

Sixth, you're supposedly to be incredibly rich by now and thus the Ill-Gotten Gains are here whereas to upgrade your lifestyle to the next step.

So, yeah. Military Update is possible as celebratory / special themed update like the Valentine's and SA Flight School. But what I was saying is that Online mode actually have a progressive background story involved in the updates.
