Social Club version of the game for PC absolutely sucks.

So, in my house we have two PC's. My wife has GTAV on Steam and I have the Social Club version installed on my PC, because I'm old school and I wanted a physical copy (f*ck me, right?).

 

When a patch for the game comes out we both have to download and install it (as you do)... On the steam version it takes minutes. For me playing the social club version on the same network, with the same security settings as my wife's PC it takes over an hour. The Social Club downloader constantly loses connection. I have to babysit it and hit the "retry" button so many times I lose count. It's 12:04 at the time of posting this. I've been trying to install the new update since about 11:00...

 

It's a f*cking joke.

Finally installed at 12:35. Only took an hour and a half on a 30MB down cable connection. GG

Strange, it was a flawless and quick download for me on the RSC download. My guess is that the combined number of downloads and increased traffic might have bogged down R*'s servers.

This most likely as i have two versions of GTA V PC and both downloads on Steam & Social Club had about the same download time...

All I know is, there's that much lag and stuttering caused by this last update, I've had to turn down my resolution to 1600 x 1050 (or something) just to compensate for the fps loss.

Pretty poor. Oh, and I must walk around for about 10 seconds in ammunations, because if I press right on the d-pad too early, I'll be doing 2fps and it'll take about 20 seconds just for the menu to show to give me the ability to buy what I need.
