Would you pay REAL money for DLC if...

  1. 1. Would you pay REAL money for DLC if the DLC items were...

    • Cheaper
      0
    • Better quality (e.g. if a new car is added, it has completely new sounds and customization option)
    • Map extensions and add ons like opening the casino or adding North Yankton
    • I would not spend real money on DLC

One of the few things that Rockstar does that most video game developers don't is that they make their DLCs free for everyone.

For example, in GTA, all you have to do is download the new update and the new content is available for you free of charge. Meanwhile, at Call of Duty, you download the new update and you have to pay $15 if you want to play the new maps or zombies.

So, what if Rockstar followed the "Call of Duty Method" by making you pay for DLCs? Would you pay that fee just for you to get a Zentorno or play heists?

If R* decided to give us new maps to play on... why not?

With the content of the most recent DLC, hell naw.

no. not at all. never

especially since they said they would never charge for it.

now... if it was big, like... a new version of the map like undead nightmare.

( my preference would be a bombed out los santos since.. lets face it, if it had lasting environmental damage, we would be fighting in the equivilent of fallout 3 washington dc minus the radiation. and even then, idk)

but for this little stuff.. no.

This.

The current DLC packages they offer, I would pay £2.99 a pack. That's all it's worth to me.

(I would happily pay £2.99 to circumvent needing fake money to acquire the stuff, this is not how it is done, and discussing it is a pointless task, it is what it is, and IMO, if it were paid, £2.99 would be fair, IMO.)

It would also destroy the shark card sales so.

Paid DLC isn't always a bad thing. It can enable you to receive something far more expansive than free DLC. To all the people saying 'no', would you really be happy if DLC stayed as it is (new t-shirts, a few new paint-jobs and another car to add to the list?) I would happily pay for some DLC which actually added something to the game. I don't care how many virtual t-shirts my virtual character can wear or how gold my plane can be. I want new missions, new places to go and new things to do. So far, aside from heists and a couple of mission here and there, GTA's DLC has been purely superficial.

I would pay a tenner for it , nothing more

Tenner for all the DLC released so far? or a tenner a pack?

I think £10 is too steep for what amounts to a couple of cars and some clothing.

Rockstar learned it's easier to dime and nickel you than it is to put effort into content that is worth the asking price.

Or something equally pseudo correct.

GTA5 has no DLCs...

That being said...depends on the content. I would have paid a fair price for heists but I absolutely would not have paid for that POS Beach Bum.

Well sorry it hasn't had a single dlc yet, only free required updates that has content in it. You guys need to stop acting like these updates are optional. I guess people still don't understand what able means.

Anyways, yes I would, if it had good content of course. I'm not cheap like most of the people that said no.

If it's something like EFLC then yes, but definitely not for the DLCs they're giving us for free.

Why stay? Seems like you think its going to get better with one of these free updates.

That's what people here can't seem to understand. Updates are free, dlc isn't. Rockstar calls them updates, people here want to call it free dlcs.

It would be like in the old days for most games, 2 DLC available, One free, basically a viewer pack, so you can see the new stuff others have, but can't use yourself, and a paid one, which is obvious.

I wouldn't pay for a simple clothes and cars update but I've been thinking that I'd pay 9.99(ukp) for another 5 heists as lomg as they were all better than that sh*tty trevor heist

If the content was worth it, yes. This content is not worth it.

Nobody would buy them, they would know that so putting a price tag on these updates would force them to actually make them good and worth buying, so maybe yes, but no if it's the current state of their typical update.

In my opinion I would be happy if Rockstar implemented what Microsoft does with Forza Horizon 2. $5 for a DLC and we get all the new stuff for free in-game. Stuff paying money for a dlc and then having to use in-game cash to get it. Updates need to be like the Beach Bum DLC. If you remember all the stuff was free for a limited time. That's what we need.
