There's nothing they don't already have access to. If they wanted to ban, they could easily figure out who's doing what without the social club.

just set the profile to private and done, youre protected from R*

heck they seem to be unable to bypass privacy settings set by players.

i have seen support people asking the players to change the privacy setting so they can investigate.

Good lord thats sad....I work in a 50 person IT Dev company and we know enough to not lock ourselves or applicable end users out of any admin page.

Nope...check the transaction log on the 19th and see then.

Has anyone made their vehicle purchase with the 25% rebate? I did the steps below indicated on the Rockstar Social Club site:

 

1. Be on the Rockstar Games Mailing List

2. Have a verified email address

3. Be a member of any Crew

 

I just want to know if I'm supposed to recieve a confirmation email or an in-game confirmation before I make my purchase. I haven't received an email about the rebate but I also haven't gotten back online after setting it up. Can anyone confirm?

Social Club > Settings > My Account > Click Verfy E-Mail...

 

If you have no Verify E-Mail button than it means you've already done it

You will not recieve any notification. Just screenshot your transaction log and purchase page when you buy the car. That way you have proof.

 

On the 19th if you do not recieve your money just contact support and they will get you your money.

Thanks! There's no button, so I must have verified when I registered.

I also found the original registration/verification e-mail and clicked the link in it and I got an "error" message stating that I already verified my adress.

You can make the splurge but you have to meet the requisites before the deadline to get your rebate.

Could this be any more ambiguous. I almost don't trust whatever system is in place to ensure I will receive my rebate. I'd feel safer if they just did a one-time discount type deal instead - even if it involves clicking 'Like' on a Bleeter thing, just as they did for the free haircut etc.

No you won't bro. You get the rebate for whatever purchase you made first, before July 15th, AFTER meeting all the requirements.

 

If you're not sure, don't take the chance, meet the requirements, then buy.

Will you still get the rebate if you change crew afterwards? I don't get why RockStar needs that as a requirement. The first two I understand completely. They want players to verify their accounts and receive their e-mails.

Darn it.. came into this patch with 3.2 M, I already wanted the Stirling GT, I had been waiting for this patch though to see what's new. I needed the T20 to complete my super car collection, (begrudgingly sold my Gauntlet for the T20, and Stallion for the Stirling GT) then I found out about the rebate. Awesome, but I didn't read the text properly. It only counts for 1 vehicle. So I bought the T20 and then the Stirling GT to take full advantage of this offer, now this morning I see I won't get a rebate on the Stirling GT, damnit! I could've fully upgraded my T20! Now I'm gonna have to farm a few hundred K before I can experience it properly! Always read the question in exams boys and girls!
