LC-DDM
So, first and foremost, my apologies for posting in what is potentially the wrong section, but I'd like to know what I need to do for ripping character voices off of the game - specifically from CJ's soundbank. What -very- little I know, is that in-game soundbytes and cutscene soundbytes are in different sections.
Andromeda-J
you probably need alci's SAAT GUI, you export sounds with that, make blank silence inside the files you hear the voice you need to get rid of and replace the files first and import and replace in saat gui second, for the silence generation and wav files is good to use audacity, i once restored sounds i had no other backup but wav files. and as you said the sounds are spreaded around the different banks so you might consider taking several hours for this process! LC-DDM
My idea was actually extracting CJ's voice samples for a different thing I have in the backburner, not replacing SA files themselves. My SA is being a little bitch too, but that's an issue for another topic.
Andromeda-J
anyway you can use alci's saat gui, you can extract them fine and even listen before extracting, so it's all you need as long as spot you intend to use them accepts wav files, but if any other format is needed then converters exist. good luck!
