The marksman pistol is a musket

Is rockstar lazy or should the gun really work like this? It's like a special carbine and a bullpup rifle they're both the same!

 

actually there are differences with all assault rifles, the bullpup has a longer "lock-on" range than the special carbine. Not always noticeable but I play survivals a lot so I compare different guns and similar distances of enemies

At least it reloades faster then the musket and possibly stronger.

 

I like it mostly for visuals or when I'm robbing mini stores lol it's very sexy and more practical then musket.

I have been using this weapon a lot in missions, because it adds challenge (because of slower reload) and fun for same old missions. If you don't you use that "marksman-->melee-->marksman glitch" to make reloading faster it will improve your shooting skills when you have to aim more carefully to get one shot kills and to avoid enemy bullets. Maybe my favorite weapon in the game at the moment. Well made DM/LTS map with only marksman pistols would be great fun too.

The Contender was made first in the sixties. And yes, it's more powerful than a Desert Eagle in 50AE. Just compare the the size of a 50AE cartridge with the size of a 45-70 rifle round used by the Contender.

 

If you are talking about the Heavy sniper in 50 BMG... Yeah, the Heavy sniper is already much weaker than in real life. It should be a one hit kill even in thé foot by dismemberment. Balance reasons.

Although you are correct in this instance comparing it to the .50AE, the size of the round doesn't always mean it is more powerful.

The marksman pistol is not a musket, it's a high caliber single shot flint lock weapon.

If you look, it is a break-barrel breach loader, which makes it technically impossible to be a flintlock. Watch the reload animation and you will see your character insert a cartridge into the breech of the pistol. If you look back in the thread you will also find a link to a video of the real life version of the pistol. The Marksman Pistol is very much a piece of 20th century design technology.

If you haven't guessed by now I'm a great fan of the real life version! and am now a fan of the in-game version

It makes the game interesting though? It takes an age to load and is about as practical as a throwing slab but it's different. Even if it wasn't so powerful, I'd still use it. My k/d isn't the be all and end all.

Sorry, when I say 'football' I mean 'soccer', I incorrectly assumed the Union Jack flag under my name and awesome avatar picture would indicate that. It's a modern designed, single shot breech loading pistol that fires a rifle caliber bullet. It's much more powerful than a .50 pistol because it is, essentially, a sniper rifle with a short barrel and no stock.

guys , it seems the " one hit kill " depend on bodyparts you shoot . for example : shooting the hand would only result the enemy player's HP to 50% ( does not applies for NPC , as they're usually weaker than player )
