Nah it's all bullsh*t, R* just trying to migrate people over PS4/One. Console limitations? over a few cars/guns? lol R*, you think people are stupid?

Do you know how programming/coding works?

I studied Computer Programming, don't push me son.

So how do you fit Gigabytes of content into a few hundred Megabytes

The new update add events similar to Gang attacks (Not sure as I will have to check it, this is my speculation).

Gang attacks is like contact missions but without the loading screen.

Sometimes you will have to wait a few mins in order to start a gang attack, that's because your console is trying to download the gang attack JSON file which contains everything about the gang attack from peds locatons to vehicles and weapons ..etc

Now with the next update your console will be downloading JSON files constantly.

With every JSON file, it will have to save the mission data.

Last-gen consoles can't handle it with 256/512 MB and freemode sessions will be lagging.

The mission data is basically the props and vehicles and actors and weapons..etc

PS4, Xboxone makes it possible to have the game downloading freemode events data and place props, actors in the same time you're playing freemode.

Is the DLC in the marketplace yet?

It's not a DLC, it's an update.

Its downloadable content. "DLC". Whether you like it or not thats what it is.

I'm not well-versed in the console versions of the game. Do you have to manually download the update from the Marketplace/Playstation Store every time they release one?

Because if it's not, it's really an update and not a DLC. They're called updates in game (source: any in-game website selling vehicles, any clothing store, any gun store), called updates on Newswire (e.g. IGG1 announcement), and at the very least are mandatory patches on PC.

This "DLC" thing is about as accurate as CoD retards calling Treyarch Zombie mode plot elements "easter eggs".

Why wouldnt it be on the marketplace this time? It has every single other time.

I mean not days before the release of the update.

Yes it will be there DAYS before the release. Its normally uploaded a week or more prior to release. Thats how we always know prior to release theres a DLC coming even when Rockstar hasnt said anything.

If it has to be DOWNLOADED then it's DLC.

Do_you_understand.gif

So is a patch, a hotfix or a mod. Do you call those DLCs too now? This definition is bull.

Are you guys talking about the devs marketplace ?

Even if it's uploaded there, it's useless to us.

The update name will be something like "Test DLC" and when Tuesday comes then they will update it with everything about the Freemode events update.

Description and banner image ..etc

No, Patches, hotfixes are NOT DLC. Again: "Downloadable content (DLC) is additional content created for a released video game. It is distributed through the Internet by the game's official publisher or other third party content producers."

Yes, thats what Im talking about. No its not useless to us as it tells us a DLC will be released soon. Yes I know we are aware it will come Tuesday, but people were flipping out thinking it would come last week but it wasnt there then. Its a catalyst to rule out when it wont drop. Its for future reference.

Hurray! You can break an acronym back down to its original form! Join the celebration, everyone!

Still amused that you're basically calling R* out for using the word "update" incorrectly.

Well, it's not your or Rockstar's definition of either terms that I'm replying to.

Updates are mandatory.

DLCs are not.

You can't play Online at all if you haven't downloaded this. Therefore it's an update.

So by your twisted logic. I should contact the admin of this site to change it's name to GTA5-DLCs.com

https://www.gta5-mods.com/

It's triggering me. After all, it's purely run by third-party content producers.

Normally people like you would have given me a headache by now. But Im in a great mood because I get the editor in 3 days.

Yes, Mods can technically be called DLCs. They dont have to nor should they change their name. Youre being obtuse. This DLC is an update and to say its not a DLC is ignorant.

Why, because you, or for that matter, anyone, were on-topic before I came along to join the off-topic fun? I don't see that being the case. This thread has long since moved past actually discussing the "next update" after IGG2.

Well the topic is "The Next DLC" so me trying to explain to hard heads that whats coming is a DLC is very much on topic.

As much as I had fun with this off-topic discussion, it is not on-topic for the thread.

I am quite certain that as stupid as GTAF members can go, they're not dumb enough to not know what another person means when they say either "the next update" or "the next DLC" just because they prefer the other. We're essentially debating about semantics that most people don't give a **** about.

I dont care if they call it an update or DLC. Its both but to say its NOT a DLC, I'll politely correct you.

You already got 2 threads where you can do that freely

Then dont post here. Stop trying to be a mini mod.
