Who said we were even getting an update next month? Is that what this thread is going to be? Speculation that every month will bring new updates and DLC? Whatever happened to speculation when we hear that there may be an update instead of just outright assuming we'll be getting an update, based on no information at all?

You must not have done very well, then, if you don't understand the effective limitations of hardware resources.

 

They can't add more to freemode because freemode consumes the entire resource pool. I'm not sure why this is a difficult idea to comprehend, but somehow people can create a convoluted conspiracy where Rockstar is actually forcing people to buy new consoles so they can buy a second copy of the game.

 

The game is a remarkable feat of streamlined programming as it is, and the fact that they continually give last gen additional content is no small miracle. They finally said "enough" when it came to new freemode activities and an editor and you assume it's because they'd like you to go out and buy a brand new console and a new copy of the game? If they were really that desperate for an influx of cash, they'd release a $20 DLC pack with some exclusive cars/guns in it and let people buy that.

 

Deal with it, you've been using a system that has been classed as obsolete for over two years now. Yet you still got two years of play out of this with NEW updates, and you can continue to have an unforesee amount of time playing the game with only a lesser amount of updated content. How some of you whiners can survive in the real world is beyond me.

Gang attacks is like contact missions but without the loading screen.

Sometimes you will have to wait a few mins in order to start a gang attack, that's because your console is trying to download the gang attack JSON file which contains everything about the gang attack from peds locatons to vehicles and weapons ..etc

Now with the next update your console will be downloading JSON files constantly.

With every JSON file, it will have to save the mission data.

Last-gen consoles can't handle it with 256/512 MB and freemode sessions will be lagging.

The mission data is basically the props and vehicles and actors and weapons..etc

PS4, Xboxone makes it possible to have the game downloading freemode events data and place props, actors in the same time you're playing freemode.

Ha I bought 3 copies on 360 (including a console so my other half could play with me) 2 were new and the other was preowned to replace a damaged disk. Then last Christmas I bought a PS4 with a bundledifferent copy ad I knew that one day the last gen would stop being supported. Latter this year I'll be buying another PS4 and a copy for the other half (and fallout 4 for her).

I bought Red Dead for a second time digitally, because the disk drive on my PS3 broke. Got a new PS3 eventually, but it was during a time I played the game nearly every day with my friends so I couldn't resist purchasing it.

I think the end of gta online as we know it is coming to an end , they've run out of ideas , this update doesn't excite me one bit , we need stuff to spend money on

They already have run out of ideas. In just every update, you get some new car or a boat, and some clothing options. That's whats been always going on, excluding the Heists Update, which was creative, but still useless. There are a lot of cars in the world, and they can just keep releasing more cars for the next two years, and then focus on the next GTA and it's Online.

 

I think they have a one track mind with occasional deviances. It's always supercars and sports cars with a few other cars peppered in. How hard would it be to add a clean Voodoo like they did with the Ratloader/Rat-Truck, a hardtop Stallion without that stupid vinyl top, and some more muscle cars? A Camaro, classic Challenger or 'Cuda, a leadsled '49 Merc... How is it they've run out of ideas when us players can pump that never ending well of new ideas? If they were to take more ideas from us like they claim with coming ideas, sh*t, GTAO would never get boring.

 

 

Not to mention that R* 'listens' to us for suggestions, even for Mission Creator, yet are too recently busy worshiping money we keep giving them. To me, its not that they're out of ideas; they're too devoid of our ideas implemented for the game.

Of course a few cars and guns aren't going to break the game. They increased detail on the textures, they never said they were upping the detail on the models. My modeling is very limited but creating a lower resolution of a HD texture should be ridiculously easy.

 

That's why when IGG 1 and 2 released you really only missed out on the weapon tints.

 

But other things such as the Editor and Freemode Events are what they are claiming to powerful for LG to process. That part I have no idea why it can't be implemented, well maybe I can see why the editor can't be included but not the events.

 

I can see no reason why cars and guns can't be added to all consoles and don't think they will.
