I wish we could really change up our transmissions. In IV, every car's transmission adapted to whatever style you were driving. If you were cruising then it shifted early. If you were driving fast then it shifted towards the redline. In V, they always shift towards the redline and it's stupid. When I'm cruising along in a high performance Grotti, I don't want it to scream at me 24/7, that creates an annoying drone after a while.

This is the first time I've seen someone else notice this. It bugs the hell out of me too.

 

Rockstar really f*cked the vehicle mechanics up from IV to V, it really disappoints me. The mechanics in IV were so far superior to the ones we have now, they just needed a little bit of tweaking (lessen body roll on some vehicles mostly, and maybe a little "sharpening" up). It seems like they just reversed everything pretty much. Too much body roll? Now we don't have enough body roll. Vehicles not quite responsive enough? Now they are too responsive. Good suspension model? Well let's throw that away.

 

Seems like such a waste to spend all that time making accurate body damage, simulating automatic gear selection, and making a detailed suspension model just to throw it all away in the next game for some dumbed-down sh*t to appease all the kids that cried about "but carz n grend thaft otto fore felt liek thay wer drivin on ise!!!1"

Well the original topic of this thread was that it would be cool of R* kept the next DLC a secret until release. Looks like they couldn't do that anyway because people like funmw2 ruin it.

I disagree. It's info that leaks out that makes anticipating the next update fun. I mean the info we get might not even be for the immediate update, it might be of one 3 or 4 down the line.

 

It's R* releasing "spoilers" that ruin it for me. Then it's no longer what could have been, it's "that can't be all" and the opposing realistic view "if you don't think that's all, your going to be disappointed"

Personally, I'd rather have R* say nothing at all about upcoming DLC until a week or so from release.

 

The less speculation and banter, the better.

 

BUT(!) that said, long gaps (three months or more) should see R* at least acknowledge that they're still working on DLC, and dispel people's fears that the game's lifespan is up.

I'm well aware I'm hated but that shouldn't stop me from participating in community discussions :D

 

Not all of us hate you. :) Like Expertthief and iamfallfromgrace, you do a pretty good job, overall (and you have every right to be here as any of us do).

 

I get that frequently generating daily content means you have to "dig up" stuff or scrounge, but too much speculation about upcoming DLC, etc. over time starts getting old...no matter who does it.

We need Flamethrower, Hermes Car, Jetpack and other garage.

 

Personally, I'm just hoping for variety in the next DLC--anything that adds a twist to, or expands on current gameplay.

 

Examples: a flamethrower, grappling hook (for surprise attacks on rooftop snipers), jetpack (or

like in Borderlands--the open-air FP view flying would be worth its weight in gold), or hovercraft would IMO provide that kind of variety.

 

And like others have said, some kind of sea/water-based DLC creating incentive and means to explore underwater or spend more time on the water would also be very welcome. I suspect it will be hard to do though; the mainland/city is a big draw for numerous reasons.

..I feel sorry for the devs who painstakingly created every inch of the massive, but frankly redundant, subterranean landscape!

 

To draw people to the seas they could add a submarine equipped with sonar and weapons - coupled with a new random event which would be like a crate drop, only underwater & with no icon on the mini map - players would have to take to the seas in their sub, locate the treasure using sonar (like in SP) and if two or more players find the treasure at the same time an underwater torpedo battle would decide who takes the spoils! ..or the same could be achieved with the above random event + a few rebreathers & a sonar app on the phone..and instead of a torpedo battle, I guess there would be an underwater knife fight!

 

Anything to draw us to the seas once in a while! Some of the underwater locations are beautiful - it's a shame that they've gone to waste for so long!

Lots of potential there. At least a few contact missions, heist setup, survival vs sharks armed w speargun, vehicle deathmatch w armed subs. They should add animals to the water, if not the land too. Sunken treasure like crate drops, but a vague search circle, instead of pinpoint beacon. Subs w torpedoes n gunboats w depthcharges. The possibilities r endless.

That is a great idea. There should be way more activity in the seas, it's a magical world down there.

 

A marine life DLC would be great. And they should do much more with the environment of the entire map, bringing it more alive.

Folding hardtop retracts in 20 seconds




A Dutch firm has created this, undoubtedly one of the most bizarre and idiosyncratic supercars around. It’s called the – deep breath – Bewerp Savage Rivale Roadyacht GTS and its makers claim it is the world’s only four-door supercar.

The car, which for brevity’s sake we’ll call the Roadyacht, is based on the current-generation C6 Corvette. It is powered by a supercharged version of GM’s 7.0-litre LS7 V8, a naturally aspirated version of which is found beneath the bonnet of the Corvette Z06 and the C6 R GT1 Le Mans racer.

Power is claimed as 661bhp at 6200rpm, while torque hits 538lb ft at 4800rpm. Bewerp reckons this should make the Roadyacht good for 0-60mph in 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 205mph.

The aluminium and carbonfibre Roadyacht has a folding hard-top and Lamborghini-style doors, the rear one revealing leather trim that runs most of the length of the car’s body.

Most odd, however, is the entry system - the Bewerp locks and unlocks via a bespoke wristwatch.

Prices for the Roadyacht start from around £205,000, and just 20 will be built.



OT: i really would like a low rider update. but only if we get hydraulics. but im not getting pumped because i know i will be disappointed.
