Progeekzy
Thinking about safe houses in GTA 5, and somewhat from IV. They are really basic. Visually, ok there kinda cool. But what are there actual functions? Save cars. To me, in SP, this is extremely limited and is really only a trophy room. Unless you only use it for a emergency car, you have nothing else your default car is somewhere else and you need a car and dont want to look for one. Change clothes. There is only 1 time that i can think of where this actually matters. When Lester wants you to wear something nice to check out the jewelry store. Other then that each of the protagonists is going to wear what they want anyways. Ya you can force them to wear something, but thats only going to last so long anyways. So again, limited. Advancing time. Im not going to say saving the game, you can do that from your phone. And i can only see this being useful if your running the stock market. So do safe houses really play a huge part of the game? Visually, ya ok. Kinda cool. I kinda feel like safe houses could be removed and it woudent effect the game that much. Ya theres a few times you go there for missions, but coudent you do that elsewhere? What could be done to better integrate safe houses into the game? Make them important? Make them mandatory, not just optional visual save points? UshaB
rjmthe2nd
Online i barely be in my safe house, it's boring. they alll look the same. you can change clothes at a store without going through a loading interior... only good thing is garages to me in GTA V. pilscy

oCrapaCreeper
They might as well just dumped the idea of safehouses and replaced them with giant garages. Storing cars is more or less the only practical use safehouse have in V since we can save anywhere we want. There mostly just there for immersive reasons now and to feel like the characters actually live somewhere. Osho
There was a thread that went deep through the subject on picking some of the areas for the best safe house locations, along with few additional features detailed. Unfortunately, I can't recall the title but it was nicely put up and seems to address my wish list perfectly as well.

hype5870
I love the safehouses in V, SP and Online! If you need a break from shooting people just for existing Online it's definitely fun to have a drink and watch people bombing around through the windows and on TV. But in SP, once you beat the game I find myself spending a lot of time in the safehouses. I'd personally LOVE some personalization options in both versions! Different TVs, couches, features like a gym like UshaB suggested, stripper pole, invite one of the other characters over for a drink, a yoga mat, basketball (crossing my fingers we get it as an option in DLC), etc. When you're done playing all the missions and heists it's still fun to play the game, but you want to chill out a bit more. Gnocchi Flip Flops
I don't really care about functions. All I want is something to sink $15000000 into to get a timeless view, very detailed minimalist architectural styling with nice big windows, 3 car slots, and a cool and modern interior. Also a pool and a courtyard and a deck. Something to make me feel like grinding to become a billionaire was worth it. CarlitoDorito
The safe houses in IV had TV. That's more basic than the TV and the small little things you can do, smoking and stuff, talking to others, things happening. More interaction would be nice. Or a safehouse you can edit. Osho
- More safehouses with bigger garages - And ..hm?? Well, that's all there's to safehouses. I don't see much point to make them feel feel special beyond saving your progress.
Progeekzy
Being able to edit them would be nice. I feel Franklins new house was fitting of his personality, tho the 3 living rooms confused me. Trevors was...depressing. The only time i liked it was when the woman we kidnapped cleaned it. Odd to type, but there it is. lol. I feel it was fiting for Trevor, and much like everything else connected to him i wasent a fan. Michaels was a reflection of his family, so cant really say ether way there. kingcs
More options for safehouses or new ones. Franklin should be able to buy a mansion with a more solid foundation. Michael's family home has a stink to it after all the years of misery in it and from the Merryweather raid on it. I think its time for a fresh start for him and the fam. Trevor, although is my least fav should still have a place to call home other than a actual strip club. I picture him somewhere on a Ranch like the O'Neills had. You don't want to dump money into something worthwhile and scenic?
Progeekzy
One thing that i hated in IV was the safe houses. None of them felt like home for Niko. I understand he was "fresh of the boat" But his first one belonged to his cousin. The second one belonged to some people his cousins GF knew. Then there was the one he got from playboyX, that belonged to PlayboyX. On and on. None of them felt like they belonged to Neko. Trevors does fit trevor, for the most part. Franklins second one fit him, for the most part. But i wish they did more. Make the usable, not something just pretty to look at.
Choco Taco
I really wish there were safehouses with garages available all over the map so I could save the vehicles I want to use in the area where I want to use them. For example, if I want to play as Michael and I want to drive a Sandking on Mount Gordo, I have to drive across the whole freaking map just to get there. thafablifee46
I like what progeekzy said lol niko never actually had his own place But OT , I would want a gun room where we could customize the weapons we buy from ammunation. I want a place where I could make motolov cocktails because for some reason we have to find them and cant buy them. I also want a garage as big as the online garages. I dont think that's too much to ask for

fridaynightscream
I think it would be cool if you could customize it. Like, make it your own. Make it unique, basically what Fallout 4 is doing with the settlements. I want that in GTA. Also, let you store stuff. Store guns, store clothes, store more cars, just store everything. CarnageRacing00
Some level of customization would be nice... Being able to buy things from stores or then internet, like exercise equipment, bigger TVs, etc. not like a full on "house sim", but being able to put your personal touch on the place would help. Also, weapon storage. Uncle Vlad

Uncle Vlad
- purchasable safehouses with garages (I´d love to have a safehouse in Chumash or Paleto, or in a secluded area like Cape Catfish) - more stuff to do in your safehouse (like excercising, playing pool, darts or even a videogame like Righteous Slaughter) - some customising options (for example bigger TV, console, computer, furniture) - making the radio wheel from vehicles available in safehouses
